Such a good video!! I also started blogging in my sophomore year of college, buuuutttt I tried to do everything at once and gave up out of frustration and lack of instant success. I think if I had seen someone break things down year by year (rather than foolishly assuming I would be successful after 3 months) then I might have stuck with it!

My trouble has been picking a niche and sticking with it. I have a few different passions or things I want to get into that I am not sure would actually make a good blog. I know it’s not all about the money at the beginning but I know there are things that are easier to break into or things that people respond better to vs something that maybe hasn’t been done before. Or if it isn’t a saturated market maybe it will take off because someone else is curious too? I just keep flip flopping and never know how to commit and make the leap.
General blogs work too instead of writing a blog around different topics each day u can use a month to focus on art, second month lifestyle etc. It would still work u don't have to niche down.
I tried to niche down but after a while I got bored staying in 1 place and now I have multiple blogs revolving multiple niches that I can't even manage when I could have just had everything in one place.

@@lisacousins6110 I already had blogs. I redid them and added new blogs. I havent gotten any earmings yet, but that's because I didnt set anything up. my goal was to get traffic. I'm going to set up the ads part very soon though. I'm still not getting a ton of traffic but it's more than i was getting before. Put it like this. If I had added the ads to my website. I probably wouldve made what I paid for the course back by now. I did this over a year ago lol

Do you think if you started a new vlog today, from scratch, all of the things you did 5 years ago would still apply?
Im wondering if your audience is loyal, locked in, so I could see how you would still get views/visits and stay at the “top” of google.
Plus, with all of the years you’ve been online and the amount of traffic you’ve gotten over time, you’d have a much better page rank, which means your blog can be in “cruise control”.
And someone starting today would be at the bottom of the “pile”, thus growing really slowly or not at all…

I'm launching a clothing brand but I thought it would be smart to start a blog first to build a community and get people interested in what the brand message is. Does your course go over people who have stores on their blog and sell their own products or just affiliate links? Because I'm not sure if having links on the store would bother a customer. Would I only allow ads on the blog pages?
