1.9 tdi amazing enginess. I got 86 MPG on a run from murcia to pamplona last summer in my little 1997 Cordoba estate . The Audi iwill make a great daily

You don't need to justify your purchase Paul , it's a family car got for a purpose and from where I'm standing it looks an excellent deal as a straight swap for the 75 Tourer.

I can only speak for myself but I think that we should start to treasure our MGs and Rovers given they are disappearing fast and are also not the youngest anymore. This, for me, implies scavenging the market for an "unappealing" , reliant and affordable daily driver and I appreciate any channel that presents options in that area.

These are great cars, just sold my 2003 MY that I had for 11 years, never let me down. Previous 200 MY one went easily to 260k miles. Hoping my new (old) C6 is as good - not as well built as the C5 in your video. Make sure you rust proof the front wings!
A canoe on the roof is what this A6 needs, it’s a canoe carrying car.

Think I've just bought a new estate car its a Mercedes Estate car sport estate on 12 plate I really love it..141.000 odd miles which is upgrade from my 2007 191.000 odd mile car..
My new car has a pan roof 3.0 litre diesel engine on 12 plate..

Already love this car, it sits right for starters. Pleeeaase take the roof rails off until you need them though, they just kinda spoil the lines.

As you know i have the a4 b6 tdi Avant sport. Before I bought the Audi a4 i had 14 passats b5.5 and b5. I have driven many a6s I like them. The engine in this a6 I believe is the same as my a4 the 130pd I have a 187005tho on my clock the car is still running superb so much so I am planning driving it from the Highlands of Scotland to London or just outside it. It passed the MOT without any problems. The stereo in my one is great I have had mine remapped to 170bhp it regularly does 60mpg. I have changed the sits for one's with better bolsters 😊👍👏👏👏

My 2004 1.9 tdi pd100 A4 Avant is on 275,000 miles and still my daily commuter and family car! Never skips a beat!

Really nice car, that. It will be a perfect daily driver and will look great polished up.
Big estate cars from the early 2000s really do look better painted dark metallic blue as opposed to the ubiquitous silver or grey. My 2006 V70 is a case in point; it's painted Barents Blue (a popular Volvo colour to this day), which I think makes it looks quite classy for a box on wheels :)

A trusty steed there. We don't have to be entirely faithful to the one brand we love the most. Practicality has to be a consideration too. I still loved my 1st wife when I married the 2nd, shit happens😂.

Im here for the channel and not necessarily the cars. My comment on this situation - its a lovely car to drive with a great / almost legendary engine. The feel of quality, especially the interior quality im afraid doesn't necessarily translate to a good bangernomics car. When things start going wrong, which they will, you will be in the shit and i just hope you have the appropriate footwear for the situation 😂. Anyway tin helmet time after saying that 😂. Keep up the great content.

Mine is on 275,000 miles now (20 year old 1.9 pd tdi) and apart from d.i.y 5k oil changes (I like to be kind) I've spent bugger all on it really. Little bits that have cropped up were cheap to d.i.y fix (window regulator). It's the best daily commuter and family car I've ever had. Engine sweet as a nut.
Put in a Rover seat, best of both worlds. Nice car. I'm not a fan of SUV's I like estates best. I have a Honda Accord 09 estate.

Ive said it before but I'll say it again the sound system in an audi is amazing. Super crisp and clear...how many speakers can you count in there.....

Nowadays of course the Audi is the conveyance of the shouty bellend but back in the day they were classy, intelligent and subtle cars of quality. You might well have Peak Audi here. The A6 is the best size as the 5 Series is of course the best BMW and the E Class the best Merc. Potentially the best engine, economical, powerful enough and sturdy. Estates are the best body style and it’s not an S Line with its uncomfortable suspension and too-big wheels. And finally in a colour that looks nice when clean so is rewarding in that sense but also makes it practically invisible. You got me thinking about sitting in the boot of a car and I was trying to remember the last time I sat in the boot of a car like you did in this video. I think it was when we had the eclipse in 1999 or whenever it was. I remember sitting in the boot of my XR2 watching it happen, and I don’t remember sitting in the boot of a car since.

The start of the explosion of aggression and knobbery of Audi drivers seemed to coincide with the radiator grilles changing to the frowny aggressive looking ones around 2006...?
I prefer the more smiley/neutral looking front grilles of the previous Audis like this one.
