I had a brown and white Boston, her name was Nikki. We spent about 30.000$ to keep her alive for 13 years. The poor thing was always sick but we gave her the best life she could have in spit. Last month we had to put her down. I will always love her and always miss her.
So sorry to hear that. Dogs are a huge part of our lives, but to a dog, we are their whole lives. Sounds like you gave her the best possible experience. ❤️

So sorry for your loss. Ours had pancreatitis the last 3 yrs. Lots of $$$ spent on veterinary and special homemade food and meds. She died a week before turning 11. I still think about her all the time and miss her alot. So, I feel your sorrow. Someday I will get another. They are such cool dogs.
Ha ha - snores like a 40 year old man....we're in our 60s and snore but our Boston is quiet as a mouse when he sleeps! Ours is seal in color and that's our favorite color for a Boston.
Lol we got Bella when we were 22 now we are 34 so I may need to change my age reference to an 85 year old man lol
I love those things about my Boston too, I also love that they are very intelligent & easy to train. The Zoomies are hilarious & the Cuddles are the best. Never had a problem with either of mine sitting by me whining for no reason maybe you should talk to your Vet about it. Yes, the excessive Licking drives me nuts but it’s a small price to pay for all that joy & love my Boston brings me. And one more thing I have learned, start talking to your Boston Puppy the same as you would a human child, some cute Baby Talk is OK but don’t limit your communication to that, the more you talk to them the more they learn to understand. You will be amazed at what they will learn to comprehend over the years & they will show you they understand what you’re saying even when you’re not talking to them, it will amaze you. This to me is the perfect breed; and I’ve had serveral other breeds. I love my Boston
They sure do learn words. She would get wild if you said the word "walk" so we started spelling it and she figured that out! And if you said "lunch" her ears twisted. Ha ha
@@lindadoran6062 My first Boston used to give us trouble when we said it’s time to go potty to get ready for bed so one night I was in the laundry room so I stepped to the hall & yelled to my husband to take her “ Out To Potty” ( spelling it ) & he said what did you just say. I was totally amazed as I said just follow her she knows what I said as she sat by the front door waiting for him!!! I had never spelled it before. So I tried spelling other words like “Ride” & “Bath” & she knew those too & she loved to take a Bath & go for a Ride. She was so very Smart that it was actually scary!! LOL😂

When i shower, trufa naps on a towel i keep in the bathroom just for her and as soon as I'm out of the water getting dressed she demands cuddles 😂

The things I love about my BT Lola and BT's in general are: they are so cuddly, they are small and easy to take everywhere, they barely bark (Lola would only bark at other dogs when she's close to them) and they don't shed a lot of hair and are easy in grooming. Also they're just so good with people and are easy to train. I don't see any cons besides the deadly farts. 😂

My wife and I just got a Brindle Boston Terrier with the Hagerty print on the top of his head...We also have a 1yr old 125lbs Cane Corso...Its so funny seeing them together...

We have a brown brindle and she is the cutest. I had a black one when I was a kid and he was the cutest. I just love Bostons

I have a black and white Boston that I got when he was seven. The only training issue I had was teaching him to walk on a leash. (His previous owner apparently hasn't walked him regularly.) He keeps his blanket for survival in the winter and as a security blanket during the summer. The best thing I've done for him is to get him a bed with sides. (bumpers) He'll prop up his head at times on the sides and other use the corners to dig in and stay warm. He rewards me by allowing me to walk and feed him. Oh, the joys of caring for a Boston.

My BT Tyrone has never barked. Only in his sleep. Sometimes I wish he would occasionally bark just so I know I have a dog lol. He also never whines unless he's dying for the gate to open at the dog park. And yes he would make a horrible guard dog. More likely to help the robbers put my stuff in their truck. 😂
My first was a brindle, the fur is a bit softer, a real character.

I love black. A Boston is one of the most fantastic breed. My Bree has brought so much to my life. It took many years for me to get another Boston as my heart broke when I lost Sassy. Take care.

Our Milo is a 17 month old red and white! Our son has 4 one brindle/white 3 black/white. People always ask if Milo is a miniature Boxer 😂

One thing I was not prepared for when we got our Boston was their incredible high energy and need for exercise. Our little guy gets very jumpy and nippy unless we exercise him almost to the point of exhaustion. He’s only a year old so I’m hoping that subsides as time goes on. I’m retired so I have the time to devote to my little guy. We go on at least one long walk a day, play endless rounds of fetch, and have an outdoor tug hanging from a tree in our fenced yard that he loves (and is very entertaining to watch). If I’ve done my job well, he’s snuggly by the evening.
We also send him to doggie daycare a couple half days a week. He’s a handful, but he does make us laugh!
Bostons are very smart too. They catch on to training very quickly, but their stubbornness often affects the implementation of what they know! lol. 🥰💕

The whining is so annoying but we always joke that she learned to whine from me. I am and have always been a whiner, and for the last 12 years I’ve gotten to experience how annoying it is. Also, the licking!!! It’s really hard to get her to stop once she starts. She only does it at night to self soothe and it’s really difficult to get her to stop. However, she is the love of my life, and I wouldn’t trade her for anything. I can tell she’s getting closer to the end, and I cherish every minute with her. BTs are definitely my dog of choice.

Donnie, I love your show and I love everything about my Bostons. Yes, my Grizzly is a whiner, a snore-er, and his farts smell to holy hell but he's my best friend and I love him dearly! 😂

If i were asked 'whats the biggest con to owning a BT?' Id have to say that they make me take naps when i really shouldn't be! 😂😂 My 2 love to lay on or around me n snuggle in....n lordy knows they love their wee sleeps! As active as they are, they sure make up for it....n i somehow allllways get roped in and trapped!😂 I may have to rejoin the workforce P/T at this rate as im totally gettin used to it!

My cousin’s stepson has a breeding pair of Bostons, and I am getting a light gray and white female. Is that what they call seal?They will be six weeks old on Tuesday. I have named my Boston Gracie. I went to visit her yesterday. This is my 3rd visit. She was super affectionate this time. The first time, their eyes weren’t open yet. OMG! The cuteness. On the second visit, she wasn’t into me at all. This time, we’re in love!

There is a product called “licky mat” . I bought a similar product with the same concept. Our BT did enjoy the smeared peanut butter in the textured mat, keeps him entertained for a good while. Then he fell asleep.
I got 4 of these freaks and yes the licks are outta control

Completely with you on the Boston terriers be barkless until I got my eight week old puppy last Saturday. He is a Boston cute as a bug that barks incessantly. I was definitely not prepared for that because Sadie never barked when she was a puppy in fact she has just started barking at a year and a half since I moved to a new home It’s only if somebody comes to the door that she can’t see or if somebody is walking outside the backyard.

First Boston I had was a brindle he passed in 2016, now I have a black and white, I love all the colors they come in but I need a seal then I can make up my mind, but I really love my black & white total different personalities first one he was my alarm this one not a peep. Both did zoomies, but the one I have now is crazy!

Just got my first red. He's so adorable. My first Boston was brindle, recently lost her to old age and didn't want my new baby to look just like her because the lose was so hard.

Between my parents & myself, we have had nine BTs since the mid-60s. We truly LOVE this breed!!
I had three at one time (a bit of handfull!), but having two is perfect. The pups really enjoy being with each other. They are great dogs.
All lived 14 to 14 & 1/2 yrs old except my first one. He died at 6 & 1/2; had a very short nose & terrible breathing/snoring problems.
Since, we have selected puppies with slightly longer noses on purpose!

You were right about the whining. I thought it was just her. Like you said, you asked if she wanted out, checked her food and water, wouldn't stop sometimes. She licked a lot too. And the farts, I blamed my husband and it wasn't him. Sometimes she would walk away afterwards. Ha ha

We lost our Boston in March but his nick name was "Licky Boy". He would lick your face and arms and the arm of our sofa. No idea why! Great affectionate personality.

We have had 3 black & white BT's over the years. But right now I have a Blue Boston, which is a gray & brindle color. I do not care much about the color. I love the personality and demeanor of the BT. They are a loyal breed and love you as much as you love them.

We don’t get much whining as we rarely encouraged that behaviour… however he will stand 10 feet away from you and just stare you down to get what he wants.
Love my brindle babies! I’m with you on your dislikes. Our latest girl has whined since she was a baby with her mother. She is just a vocal girl. My sons boy licks to the point he wears your skin off. Regardless there is so much to love and each one is so different.

Yes indeed,that whining or as I call it crying…especially when I know there’s nothing wrong with George….he does this snort whining thing..Drives me crazy 😜…George is a brindle color which is the prettiest of any other brindle I’ve seen…his pattern is unusual…And the licking isn’t too bad unless if you’ve been scratched and there’s a little blood…then it’s 👅 lick licking..Gross…All in all I love this breed and especially LOVE ❤️ this boy George 🐶❤️

My Boston doesn’t lick as much as he used to but whining and stubbornness are the only things I dislike about him. I’ve had days where I have taken him on a long walk, gave him one on one play time, then took him to the dog park where I let him run around for almost 4 hours until he got tuckered out, then gave him plenty of cuddles when we got home to relax and the second I turned around to go into a different room, he started whining. I’ve learned to ignore it when it’s just for attention but man do these little guys need LOTS of it 😂

We've had our Boston for a while now and we absolutely adore her. She does appear to have stopped growing though, she is 7 months old and only weighs about 4kg, she doesnt look skinny. Is this a normal growth pattern? Or do we just have an unusally small Boston?

You used the term, "Boston Terrier owners." I'm laughing because we don't "own" Boston Terriers. They allow us to be a part of their lives...feeding, watering, walking, snuggling with them, and etc, so maybe they "own" us. Ours lived almost 11 years, and I don't recall that she ever was a whiner. Stubborn, yes, absolutely. Also, the licking was definitely a trait, and it was annoying. The cuteness and her positive characteristics outweighed the annoyance of her licking, though.

I did email a site called Gorgeous Boston terriers.
I finally got a response. They emailed in broken English and requested $400 up front payment for a “reservation”.
They claim to do this for a secure purchase.
I’m not sending any $$.
Does anyone know about this website?
Do any of you know people that have puppies in the Michigan area and surrounding states?
I’ve also contacted AKC breeders but they haven’t gotten back to me! What gives?? Ugh!
