    I apologize this video wasn’t highly edited and scripted for a clear delivery of info i.e. Truck Reviews. On Stream I got going on this rant and after decided to share it. Please keep in mind that this is not to compare and/or bash a truck shown in this video, but is to highlight that increasing a vehicles torque isn’t always the answer when it comes to Pulling Potential. For new trucks like the PLAD 450 stepping into the arena with no record-breaking features; its ability to pull has been impressive and I believe its due to its wheel mass. Lastly this is a test map which is used to pinpoint and highlight strengths and weaknesses. I hope this gives some clarity & not confusion, but if it does; please stop by the stream and I can do my best to give you and answer or we will find it.
    If you’d like to see the Zikz 612H comparison between its release and upgraded tires here is that link:
    czcams.com/video/4Siw2EmKYmA/video.htmlsi=mPjs01vLY2Xzd6in
    Also if you’d like to know how to increase pulling potential with Lower Power To Weight Trucks:
    czcams.com/video/qgGUehnFuKM/video.htmlsi=vqN4Ue8kW1xdGRrL
    (ALL Trucks used are made from the SnowRunner Developers)
    Using Low- in my experience has only worked a small % of the time. On this slope it very rarely breaks lockups. However In game, I have seen it and used it on more shallow grades with success.

Also, great tip on toggling off AWD to put drive onto rear wheels! That would never have occured to me.

    • @NProvince
      @NProvince  Před 22 dny +1

      Thank you! So the thing is, you’ll never really have to worry whether or not a truck has a heavier tire option. The only vehicle that has access to them is the BOAR which we looked at. Tires range from 100, 200, and 600kg. Heavier the tire weight the more pulling potential. The OHDs that are on the Paystar allow it to pull because unlike most smaller NA trucks it has 200kg tires and not 100. I think in any scenario heavier tires show better results everywhere tbh. Weight equals traction and weight equals more pulling power in the world of wheels. :)

    I wrote off the Paystar 5070 in the early stages of my play through because I found myself tipping over a lot. Also, even though the fuel consumption isn’t terrible, the tank itself isn’t all that big, making it seem like an undesirable option.
    After watching this video I decided to give it another shot in Ontario. It pulled the rails on the wide flatbed semi trailer like it was nothing. The fact that you also equip the yellow crane with a high saddle is insane. I would’ve never thought about using this truck for a mission like this, and it made it look easy.

    @graundead666 Před 22 dny

    My thoughts are simple about that one. If you need to pull some heavy weights through some deep mud you will use heavy transports with good mud tires like KOLOB, ZIKS or FEMM. But if your goal is to pull that weight up a hill you need some less grip tires and not so heavy transport.

    • @NProvince
      @NProvince  Před 22 dny

      That’s fair gameplan. The thing is, some trucks with low power to weight have really great pulling potential with the heaviest tires. The 605R for example never locked up on that hill, just a slow chug up it. On other instances like my Femm review, it showed it can really climb. I think both scenarios have some factors to consider especially through mud. Now this is where their collision models come into play.
      I’ve had huge success in both the world of pulling hills and mud with a plethora of vehicles . I hope this video helped folks. It’s really all about how comfortable you are with your choice and it sounds like you got a pretty good understanding of that

    Wait, so even tho the derry special has 200 kg tires, it gets outclassed by the paystar 5700(which also has 200kg tires but almost half the torque). How does that work? And the paystar climbed better that the 605r, which has 600 kg super heavys. Does switchable awd make such a big difference cuz I haven't played this game since season 2 dropped

    • @NProvince
      @NProvince  Před 22 dny

      So i wouldnt say its getting outclassed. We all know the Derry Special is pretty great, but in this scenario and others the point being made is that they allowed trucks with lesser torque like the 605R to outpull it even though its torque is greater. Switchable AWD is advantageous in certain situations with lower power to weight trucks like the Paystar in this instance allowing to continue that climb

  • @AZRacerX
    @AZRacerX Před 22 dny

    Heavier tires and able to turn off AWD. That makes a huge diff in the game for sure. Great vid Nate ! TY. Also it would be awesome to have the tire weights listed in the game. . Or even just say heavy or normal whatever lol.

    • @NProvince
      @NProvince  Před 22 dny

      Ya having tires weights in game would be great. However the only truck that has the option to toggle between mediums and heavy (100kg and 200kg) is the Boar. Usually a truck is set to one specific tire weight. So what you could do is recognize the acronym and associate it with a tire weight. Sometimes saber can special code weights to be higher like the PLAD 450 being super heavy tires when usually the tires it can equip are actually just heavy. Sounds confusing, but using a cheat sheet is great especially the one on maprunner website > resources > SnowRunner data spreadsheet

  • @flexxx222

    Early on after release I modded the game files for most american trucks to have the P16 special tire. i remember that these OHD I massively changed the overall potential of these smaller trucks. I thought at the time, that was simply by the stat change, but this thory of yours would in part explain, why these tires worked that well.

    • @NProvince
      @NProvince  Před 22 dny +1

      That would make sense. So I don’t know if the P16s special OHD is slotted at 200kg or 600kg. I remember back in the day before I knew things like this; I believed the same thing about give NA trucks OHDs and the performance gaps between NA and RU trucks would close. I didn’t know at the time the affects of tire weights. I just knew trucks with them did better than UODs. I think that if they did, you’d see some wild changes to the way vehicles act.

  • @kodaiyoung
    @kodaiyoung Před 23 dny

    This is impressive. Wondering if there is a point where too much weight makes it worse and if there is really any other reason to use anything else beyond OHD1 unless you do not have them available.

    • @NProvince
      @NProvince  Před 23 dny +1

      Well OHDs are slotted at 200kg. 600kg is the maximum so a tire heavier than the OHDs will perform better. I’m not sure if too heavy is a bad thing when it comes to tires, but I don’t see them making a tire heavier than 600kg. Usually trucks are slotted to have 100kg,200kg, or 600kg. The boar is the only truck I know that has two different “templates”. This is just to show that some trucks could use heavier tires to give them a bump potentially

  • @vettepilot427
    @vettepilot427 Před 22 dny

    It's almost like gear ratio is involved in some way. I'd be curious which trucks have a higher top speed and or more gears in the trans. The other issue may be that the torque number is split among the number of driven wheels.

    • @NProvince
      @NProvince  Před 22 dny +2

      There’s speculation that torque is not split between driven axles. I on the other hand think it does and that’s been due to my experience with toggling off AWD shows that force is being applied in full to the rear axles under diff lock.

    • @vettepilot427
      @vettepilot427 Před 22 dny

      @@NProvince Based on this test, it’s surely not a weight transfer issue as the weight would be completely on the rear axles because of the trailer weight and driving uphill. It seems as if the truck is getting a boost in power when the AWD is switched off, and the only way that happens is if you have more power on fewer wheels (as long as they have traction). The only other thing I can think of is trucks with more gears have a higher 1st gear ratio and thus more pulling power with everything being equal, or taller tires reduce gear ratio and available torque.

    • @NProvince
      @NProvince  Před 22 dny

      So to my understanding of this angular velocity in game is directly tied to torque throughput and larger tires try to acquire a higher angular velocity on every gear setting. With that a larger tire is able to achieve the max torque value from
      Each gear. It’s really odd.

      Wheel diameter is a factor in RL but I’m not sure it works the same way in SR. I can look at this and see, but even if it did produce a better effect, larger tires are usually the pick because they are the requirement to get higher clearances through raised suspensions
