Thanks so much for the video on this. I have just refurbished that same bandsaw and have a Grizzly riser kit on order. This will definitely make it easier!
Glad I could help!
@dougfowler9609 did the Grizzly Riser block kit fit the Rigid? I have been wondering that
I bought the "Grizzly H3051 - Riser Block Kit for G0555/G0555X" and this video's tip on just drilling out one hole to remove the paint was the only modification I needed to make it work. How did yours turn out?
Thanks for the video; I had no idea they make a riser for ridged bandsaws.
I have an older Jet band saw built in 1982, it's not blue, it's actually gray like it's Delta/Rockwell counterparts. As an added bonus, the alignment pins on my saw are in the opposite corners as the holes and pins on the riser, AND they were even drill at an angle on my saw. I had to take some careful measurements and drill new mounting holes on my band saw.
Thanks for this video! The tip about removing the paint was all I needed to make the Grizzly G3051 riser block work!
For the long blade guard on the up-side, is it okay to install it open-face-in or face-out? When I bought the saw, it was faced in so each time you changed the blade, you'd have to remove the guard.
Yes, the guards used to (30 years ago) always come from the factory with the opening facing out but now it seems like a 50/50 chance. I think they’re now If it was me I’d flip it around so you don’t have to take it off to change the blade each time.
I was today years old when I realized whoever assembled the BS14002 blade guard on the unit I got for free was reversible and I don't have to remove it every time I swap a blade.
What model ridged is that ?
I see that you also got a new longer blade guard,,,My blade guard on my Rockwell saw broke,, one of the bolt holes used to attach it to the saw snapped off and I have it epoxied on there,, do you know where I’d be able to find A replacement..I was going to make one out of solid aluminum and mill out the slot But it’s a lot of work I’d rather not have to go through..????
Nice video, any links for the fence?
Weird the Jet kit with the 3/4" guid rod is $99 but the kit with the 7/8" guide rod is $229 :)
Any way to show the current Ridgid bandsaw and cutting?
It can be seen resawing in the desktop organizer video and it makes a quick cut near the end of the latest video on using the RAS as a lathe. But if you want to see it resawing the desktop organizer video is the one you want.
@@TheNorthlandWorkshop 5hp makes that a different saw.
@@SQ_og it still had the 3/4hp motor on it in the desktop organizer video.
thanks for the vides.... link to the riser block and fence??
