I can guarantee that that is 100% false. Rolex ADs sell their watches as soon as they come in, and never keep things in the safe. They are in the business of turning a profit after all.

I went to the AD at the Bellagio in Vegas. The rep said they don't divulge how many watches they get in, nor would they ever sell to a tourist. Wow, the Rolex store is literally in a hotel. I've decided to go anti Rolex and buy a Seamaster. Also, it's not like a celebrity can't walk in and choose whatever they want, oh wait they are tourists too!
Yeah - Vegas ADs crack me up … I guess if buy 2 Diamond crusted ladies pieces they might pop out a submariner …
An Omega is not a Rolex and a Rolex is not an AP so forth, with that said Rolex buying process is a FARCE!

My experience with a couple of ADs is that they like to be a part of special occasions in peoples’ lives. For example, if you or someone close to you is graduating, or has a wedding, a big anniversary, the birth of a child, etc., etc., this would be considered special. If you’re open and genuine with the AD that you’re looking for a piece to commemorate said occasion, they will take your name down and truly consider it. Of course, that’s not to say that it will be easier to get a Daytona, but they will look to help you out. Just be nice.

It’s discrimination plain & simple. I visited my local AD recently. He was very nice, I tried-on some watches, he took my info, but I don’t ever expect to hear from him again. ☹️. Thus, I have begun looking at luxury watches from Rolex’s competitors.
Can't be bothered to go through those kinds of hoops to get a watch. Other brands to explore & enjoy.

My best AD experience by far was with omega
TRUE FACT: People say celebrities can buy them but I've worked on several films and all the actors I've spoken to that have Rolex either bought them years ago or bought them second hand on the grey market. Even they can't just walk in and get one. Most if them have other watches also though and if you ask them they don't rate Rolex too highly anyway.

I’m surprised how the sales associate was so interactive to you. I encountered the most uninterested and intimidating agents that kept rolling their eyes on me. Giving me 1-2 word response and just waiting for me to get done. Esp in SAN JOSE WESTFIELD Mall. His name is GILBERT. So vile and poor costumer service. I just got a datejust from chicago bucherer right from the store. They said they have closed the registrations for the daytonas, not sure if anyone would be able to get them straight from the AD

I’ve had a good experience at my ad. They’ve sold me 4 Rolex’s and all have had a higher resale value. But I’ve kept them all as I’m building a collection. I did make a few modest jewellery purchase tho.

Travel to Singapore and go to Changi Airport, there is a Rolex watch available at the airport where you do not have to wait.

They have watches. I was at my local AD buying my watch and the sales person literally had a desk full of brand new Rolex watches (all popular ones) making call after call to clients. They are just the "chosen" ones. I am a collector and have a large spend at my AD. Rolex and this attitude of making us beg to spend our money with them is really turning me off big time to their brand. I will not support gray market dealers because they are a large part of the problem. Rolex needs to lift this crazy ban on buying and offer watches to people. The price alone sets them apart and keeps most people away.

A luxury item that has conditions to purchase...this sounds familiar for many luxury items. Exclusivity is a big part of the charm, these days, for luxury brands...it's the mentality that keeps these businesses profiting 💯
Why exclusive? You have almost 100k rolexes only on chrono24. Rolex has sold 1.2 million watches in 2022

I walked in and bought a Rolex just two weeks ago.....first time I've ever bought a watch worth that much$$$$.....and the dealer was first to offer it to me just because he saw me looking.

It sounds like they could be breaking markets regulations someone should report it to the CMA to investigate would be amazing to see Rolex slapped with a fine by the regulator.
Almost every authorized dealer has stock on hand. They just CHOOSE not to sell to you. Even the "list" is not real.
I went to an AD twice. The first time, I showed up like the guy in the video (sweats, hat, etc.). They were polite, but they had "no stock". I left my name and contact information for a mid-level Rolex. Never received a call.
Second time I showed up in my Porsche with a suit and sunglasses on (total douche look by the way). They sold me the exact same watch I wanted the first time I came in with no questions asked. The so-called "list" I was put on while in sweats never resulted in that call, but I was able to walk out with a mid-level Rolex when I rolled up looking "the part".
No new Rolex sports watches in NY for four years.

It is a sales con. Tell someone, especially more entitled people, you cannot have it, they will pay anything you ask for. Check out Rolex sales strategies from the past.
Very few (if any) of the watches on display in the AD are real, working watches. If the time is set to 10:10, they don't work (have no mechanism inside).

They are pretending to be exclusive, however I blame people who elevated to that where they can be rude and nasty to you, and people literally begging them to sell. They should be begging you, not the other way around. On a side note, at least they treated you as a human being despite what you put on (which shouldn't matter). I doubt they would have given you the time of day if you were a Black person even in suit. They would have asked you to leave or tell you "sorry, we can't help you" or "we have nothing for you" and then usher you out. Arman, I'm looking at you.

My advice is stop buying and wanting Rolex, make the arse fall out the market and then the AD's will dig out the stock they keep for grey market dealers under the counter, buy an Omega or Seiko, stop obsessing over Rolex.
For a company that makes over 1.5 million watches a year to have no stock is the same as ford or vauxhall not having any cars for sale, it's a con to keep prices artificially high and make out that Rolex is somehow better than the rest when, they started as high quality work watches that could take a beating and last a lifetime, now you can't even treat yourself to that one special watch if you're not a collector as they don't actually have any of the 1.5 million watches available in any AD in any country! What a joke.
I tried on an expedition only watch, said I wanted it, AD called a day later said they got a shipment in and the watch I wanted was available. Guess what , it was the expedition model. ,!,,,,!!

Going to put my name down for a rose gold day date with a chocolate dial, was told by two ADs there not popular and won’t take long to come through, also would love a rose gold Cellini, nos as I think there a sleeper and will become desirable over the next 3-5 years, not very desirable up until now but watch this space, there gonna go up big time later on

First off rule, 101 is your not supposed to show up like he just left the gym. Authorized dealers are taught to sell Rolex to a certain type of person, one that is well-kept and well groomed you may want to rethink your apparel Choice prior to going out next time and you might get more information……
I go into mine in gym gear all the time. It’s because I’ve just left the gym. They get on with me well because I love watches and so do they. I’ve bought a Sub and other brands from them. I’ll get the GMT that I want as well but it will be a wait.
First rule, 101 I am the customer and I'll wear what I want when I've £20k on the hip to buy an overpriced luxury item for fun. Second rule, you just marked your self as a simp. Third rule when a brand tries to ruin my shopping experience I mark them as shit and I go elsewhere. Many places sell better quality ex slag's watches than rolux without requiring me to get out my knee pads and gurgle their jizz, which as it goes is a simp's job, not a mans Job.
