- The Tejas Mk1A is India's latest 4.5 generation, all-weather, multirole fighter aircraft developed under the LCA (Light Combat Aircraft) program. Expected to be delivered to the Indian Air Force by August 15th, it features advanced technology including an active electronically scanned array radar, electronic warfare suite, and superior avionics. The Tejas Mk1A's development marks a significant step towards India's self-reliance in defence manufacturing, with an increasing indigenous content expected to surpass 70% within two years. Despite delays due to engine supply issues from the US, the production is on track to deliver 16 aircraft per year. The Tejas program has not only enhanced India's defence capabilities but also created a robust aerospace ecosystem, supporting small and medium enterprises and research institutions.

Tejas is the Tejas is the new HF Marat. While other countries started later than Tejas, have active squadrons, high delivery rate, purchased by other countries, with greater fire power and stealth. Why keep hyping the Tejas? It needs to speak for itself. I read, see and hear the same commentary for the last decade or so. Where are Kaveri, AMCA and TEDBF? We will always be more than a generation behind. It’s a sad story.
Priorities should have been in favor of TEDBEF and AMCA. But they are otherwise because of a stupid NSA .

Block 3 j10C has much adv fly by wire than block 1 and 2. Aesa and adv jammers also are now equipped in j10c B3. Pls update your knowledge
J10 c is Export varient doesn't have aesa Only Few Chinece Plane Hasve Those! But we all know What China Says about its Technology and jammers!
@@somn2425 the block 3 variants supplied to porkis have aesa. Pls check. The quality may be inferior. But having a jet is imp than NOT having anything. Our Airforce has defecit of jets. Tejas is way more adv with capability of performing multiple roles. But not having these birds is not a positive development. Due to Tejas' limited range compared to similar jets such as Gripen, we need more numbers to compensate and make their availability more than 60%.
There is no Block 3 version of J10CE. You are talking about JF17 Block 3.

Tejas mk1a will be more for point defense with its lower fuel capacity so may not be good for extended missions, on the other hand Tejas mk2 which is being developed will be more optimal for dogfights and extended aerial missions and will hold the most number of air to air missiles ever for an aircraft.
Can't wait for the rollout of our LCA Tejas and AMCA projects, it started late which is a bummer but I hope it will proceed without a hitch and go on smoothly to produce our own top-tier aerial monsters

Better for IAF to order f16 than rely on HAL for tejas, as it might take them 20+ years to complete the delivery of 83 aircrafts.

Don't ever talk about EXPORT till indegenous requirements are nearly fulfilled. We don't want further more caps imposed on supplies of engines/LRUs/ ejection seats / ....other vital equipments. Apni EXPORT ki khujli side me rakho .I don't think we can even think of EXPORT for at least a decade .

you dont "build" a fighter. You design and develop it. And it took 25 years. But the problem was the delivery rate.
Not everyone is Stupid as You Only Project was Sanctioned for Physibility study in 83 which completed in 85-86 the Money was given after 93 the project actualy started then! Nad the plane 2001 took 1st flight but if India was not under sanction for 10yrs out plane would have Given Fo'in2011! The Rafel u sea today it's TD was flying In 1977 means Rafael was in Testing mode Before Tejas Project ever started Rafeal only Got it full weapons and Self Protection vonly in 2012!!! Now compere Tejas Still was better as we have Less Knlowhow the France!

When Tejas engine , refueling drouge , AESA radar , pilot seat and many important parts are imported , than why HAL is taking so much time to deliver the aircraft to the IAF .
Because of exactly of the reason you state.... Primarily we haven't receive (or yet to receive) any single F414 engine from GE..... They are dragging... Pilot seat and AESA have also delays.... That's why HAL don't have any control over the delivery schedule..... The reason why even after showing interest no foreign buyers are there for Tejas... IAF is the primary customer and HAL not even met the promise they given to IAF, how a foreign buyer will trust HAL
By the end of this decade, I am confident that our Tejas will be equipped with Desi engines. But we are moving slowly and it is already late.

When huge order is line up to HAL,it is high time that PM needs to look in to why our own engine yet not developed when we are master in space research why not for this I thing no exact responsibility is fixed in top level . PM must look into monthly performance report to control delay & progress in engine development.

Tejas mk1/mk1A and mk2 all are 4.5th generation.
4th generation are fighters like Mig29 and Mirage2000.

Faulty analysis! The J-10 is a delta wing fighter, just as the Tejas is! And no, WS-10 Taihang engines have not yet led to any crashes in Pakistan, although there have been numerous J-10 crashes in China.
J10 is better than Tejas Mk1a be it avionics, missile range, aerodynamics, loitering time.. J10 is F16 class aircraft don't compare it with Tejas.. Tejas was meant to be Mig21 Bison replacement but its more than that.. Tejas Mk2 can even stand toe to toe with gripen e.. (same class)..
We love our Tejas & knows that Mk1a + Mk2 is game changer for IAF/Indian aviation sector but don't overdo this buttering..

Every upgrade does not mean a leap in generation.
Rafale FR1, FR2,FR3 and FR4 all are 4.5th generation, even though they have upgrades in every model.
Similarly Tejas mk1, Tejas mk1A and Tejas mk2, all are 4.5th generation.
