  • The development and production of an aeroplane is a significant accomplishment for any nation. It denotes exceptional scientific, engineering, and industrial capabilities and Only a few nations have this capability
The tejas Mark-2 also has a modern appearance. The tejas MK-2 would be an Advanced 4.5++ Generation Aircraft that would be equal to, and in many cases, superior to, the Rafale. It would also share some properties of the world's most advanced aircrafts, such as the F-22 Raptor's Indium Oxide Layer and Optionally Manned Cockpit, among other things.
A canard has been inserted forward of the wings, evoking images of modern fighters such as the Rafale, Eurofighter, and Sukhoi-30MKI. The canard adds another control surface that forms a vortex, boosting the aircraft's lifting capabilities and agility. Mark-2 will also have superior radar, avionics, and electronics, as well as the ability to carry a larger weapons payload.

The plane has never been designed in the History of human endeavour which had no flaws at the start. Successful plane are those that the operators perceive as having distinctive advantgages over alternatives .And successful plaes are always improved over time. The motto should be: reinforce success and improve upon it.Looking for perfection is counter productive.

India has some of the most intelligent people on the planet, with leaders in the high tech industry running some very capable software companies in the west. If only they could get there act together internally they would be unmatched...With 5th Gen fighters already here and just across the border in China and 6th gen on the way, India needs to be far more bold...

Need to increase manufacturing capabilities, need to assemble atleast 20-30 jets per year. The Jaguar mig21, mig23, mig29, mirage needs to retire too in recent future. Enemy wont give 20 years time to get ready for war!!!

Wow, the Tejas mk2 will be the perfect High-Low mix of the AMCA. It can also replace the Jaguar, Mig 29s and Mirage 2000...(even a squad or 2 of the SU 30-MKI or atleast reducing the workload of the MKI's)... Hope we use the GE F414- Ge400 variant, to have 116kn thrust than the ordinary F414 which have just 98kn.....

If it is a Rafale Rivaling jet, then it's a good one indeed.

USA, CHINA, RUSSIA, already developed their fifth gen fighter, while Bharat still developing and even not testing first flight. Bharat must hurry up to develope and pay more attention, and even try to make six generations fighter before china.

In 2004 I got into an argument with someone for suggesting that the Tejas should have been designed with a close coupled canard and probably follow the Swiss air force ALR Piranha which never went beyond the design and experimental stage for lack of funds, here we are now with the similar Tejas Mark 2. It has almost the same dimension and probably the same architecture.

It's great to imagine the day tejas mk2 would fly high over the lac. It's a very capable and potent fighter and matches rafale and f16 .In some qualities it would match f22 raptor. I praise the Govt to allot funds for its development and manufacturing.
