"I think that THEY think that WE think that that's JUST WHAT THEY WANT US TO THINK!" Zorak is awesome. This show was great. I remember watching it as a kid but I haven't seen it in years. I don't think I ever saw this clip before, though, but it is hilarious. Thank you for posting it!
I remember when I was probably 9 or something I saw this on TV and literally almost had an asthma attack from laughing so hard I couldn't breath definitely the most random thing I've ever witnessed in my life.
Song starts at 1:32. LYRICS: Wake up! It’s a new day, better make way for a smile. Wake up! Toss the gray shades of the past into a pile. Catch on to the new day ‘cuz the game’s only begun. You’ve got to be ready for that one big drive. Wake up! It’s so great to be alive! Stand up and be counted; there’s no mountain you can’t climb. Stand high as the redwoods; leave the deadwoods all behind. Don’t wait for the next guy to take you along for a ride. If you want a home run then you’ve got to go to bat. No one’s going to swing for you, so give it your best whack! Stand up and be counted now! No, not tomorrow; Don’t be the one to procrastinate. You’ve got dreams to follow; you’ve got a future that’s lookin’ great. If you beat the sun rising, and don’t stop ‘til you’re all done, No stopping you, you’re on your way, your lucky day’s come! Wake up to the sunshine; leave those cloudy days all behind. Wake up with a new song; make the world dance to your time. You’re up on the scoreboard; now you’ll make the final touchdown. No one’s gonna stop you now; you’re movin’ at lightspeed. You’ve got the ball, you’re in the clear, you’re going to succeed! Wake up! Let’s all stand up! Come on, wake up! It’s a brand new day!
Back in the 1990s, I e-mailed Williams Street Productions about this song, and asked if it was one of their original recordings. They replied that they stole it off an old record. I have NEVER YET FOUND what record that is!
I was so into these songs that before the CDs came out, I would record these songs on my Home Alone 2 Talkboy tape recorder right from the TV. Course at that time, I had to make sure I caught it when it aired. I don't think this song was on either CD, but at the time, it was one of my favorites.
I was in a similar boat. When I was a kid, we only had one VCR and it was with the upstairs television. I wanted to record an episode of Cartoon Planet that was on at 2:30 at night (this was before Adult Swim ever aired) without alerting my parents, so I took my tape player downstairs and recorded the audio on that TV instead. Ah, memories.
Part of this song was in the movie Bowfinger. Here is it's Imdb entry: "Wake Up" Written by Geoff Levin and Chris Many Performed by Geoff Levin and Chris Many Courtesy of Firstcom Music By Arrangement with Zomba Screen Music It is not available to the public.
Does anyone remember the movie "Bowfinger" with Steve Martin in it? This song was in one of the scenes, which leads me to believe that this could very well be a stock music piece!
wow, I miss this so much. In the days before Cartoon Planet turned into a wasteland of subpar homemade gunk and anime, this was truly hilarious stuff. I'd get all the DVDs of Cartoon Planet if they ever put 'em out.
@@Floweramon There are a couple parts of it on the Brak Show DVD . But without the stock footage and music it's not the same.Like when they rebooted it with just Brak and Zorak it kinda sucked. it had just newer cartoons and no stock footage of stuff like Ultra 7 and stuff. Remember when they used to do live bumpers Planet? And remember when they had the old Space Ghost cartoons but added the goofy laugh track? Those are almost totally lost.
I used to have every episode on my computer. I deleted them because I thought they would stay on YT forever. I mean, this show hasn't aired in, what? 15 years? What kind of person deletes videos of a show that's 15 years old? Does Cartoon Network have nothing else to do?
My mom sings this song really loudly to get me to wake up in the morning.
RIP, Clay Martin Croker, voice of Zorak and Moltar

He woke up dead.
That makes me both sad and laugh out loud.

The 90's were a lawless place. It was glorious.
The 90’s were a Dionysian decade. The 80’s were more Apollonian. The 60’s were Dionysian, and the 50’s was Apollonian. It’s fascinating.

"Willard?! What a rat!" Is a very subtle movie joke.

When they sing this song, I always seem to have Ethel Merman singing it for some reason.
*singing it in my head

it may be similar voice. I think it's just an absence of documentation.
it's sad seeing 12 years next to the video, this video just graduated high school :)

musicluvr1974 Seriously? They've been out since 1997.
***** You're right--after looking it up on Wikipedia I remembered seeing the ads for these... but none of them had this song. :)
