There's something so special about this particular group of women. They're all so beautiful, charismatic and chic. The Supermodel Era of the 90's was such a special time in fashion history.
They truly represent that era and see them together now like this should be empowering. Not because of their looks because they survive the mayhem, that's what women do every day. We all just do it differently.
I don't think there will be an era as iconic and important as the 90s. Regardless of flaws of the industry at the time, these 4 ladies are still the blueprint for so many models. Its so nice to see them all together. I wish Vogue would consider placing them on the cover more often
It's hard to even bring words to how beautiful this moment is. To me, these women don't just represent excellence and longevity within the industry but also the humanity of it.
Their time is the best era. They absolutely represented the greatest era of supermodels. Linda, Cindy, Naomi and Christy are the most beautiful women in the 90s.
This brought tears to my eyes because it was a time I lived with all of them. The world was different, it was our time. They were all there for moments in my life because they were all everywhere. George’s music does the same for me, that strong tone that pierces your soul and takes you back. Linda you were my favorite face, Naomi my favorite attitude, Cindy my favorite smile and Christy my favorite shining soul.
I am so sad Tatjana is not with us any longer. She was one of the most beautiful women I have ever seen. I hope her model friends think of her son Jonah and invite him to private occasions to show they care. It is so hard to lose your mom in such an early age. I embrace you Jonah and wish you the best! You are strong and you can achieve everything! We believe in you! 🤗❤

She doesn't resemble the beautiful, natural woman she used to look....her nose, face shape, cheeks and even the lips...are totally different; besides the botox. They all had tweakments here and there, but the ones who kept the features intact are Christy and Cindy. Even Linda, who had gone too far, has the same features. Naomi unfortunately did change, especially after her 40's....so yes, she still looks amazing, she's beautiful, but let's not say she hasn't changed a bit, cause she did. Look at her photos (and her face) during two decades..

I loved this era of models. Everyone had a unique look. It’s all dumbed down now with cosmetic surgery on the rise and people lose their subtle ‘quirks’ and slight ‘imperfections’ so they all have a similar appearance and lose that individuality. I think those things that plastic surgeons ‘correct’ are sometimes the very things that make people different and stand out. Each to their own though. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. .
But that’s because designers and their corporate employers do not want to create expensive celebrity models. They want low cost generic models than can be sourced quickly in a fast fashion world. Advertisement money is better used for hiring famous actresses and reality tv girls to sell perfume and creams.

These women are my contemporaries and so iconic. I remember the cover, I remember when we all saw Freedom 90 for the first time and you knew you were seeing something different. It certainly sparked a real desire for some young women to pursue careers in modelling. Beautiful!
I just want to give Linda a hug. She's come through so much and putting herself in this position is a bold yet I'm sure very vulnerable move for her. She's as elegant and FUNNY and beautiful now despite the passage of time. I really hope this new stage of her career continues to blossom and be somewhat of a healing for her, that she realizes internally that she is still valued and welcome in all of OUR lives.

The 1980s and 1990s were truly the era of the super models. So many of them were household names back then. That doesn't happen anymore. There are certainly very successful models now, but it's not like before. These women were on the covers of thousands of magazines, they were the faces of countless products. There were many others as well...Paulina, Claudia Schiffer, Christie Brinkley, Niki Taylor, Carol Alt, Kate Moss, Elle McPherson, Andie McDowell, Rene Simonsen, Tatiana Patitz, Helene Christiensen, Stephanie Seymour, Kim Alexis, Kathy Ireland, Iman, Tyra Banks, Anna Nicole Smith...the list goes on and on. There were so many of them! Somewhere along the line, perhaps around the mid 90s, cosmetic and fragrance companies started hiring actresses and singers to represent their products, and that was the beginning of the end of the super model era. It's so different today. I don't know the name of a single model. But it was pretty cool at the time. Those women were so beautiful, and so glamorous. Back then I would have given my eye-teeth to look like any of them!

I was a teenager in the 90’s. It just hit me that these ladies were THE GIRLS that everybody on social media is trying to be today.

There were many others as well...Paulina, Claudia Schiffer, Christie Brinkley, Niki Taylor, Carol Alt, Kate Moss, Elle McPherson, Andie McDowell, Rene Simonsen, Tatiana Patitz, Helene Christiensen, Stephanie Seymour, Kim Alexis, Kathy Ireland, Iman, Tyra Banks, Anna Nicole Smith...the list goes on and on. There were so many of them! Somewhere along the line, perhaps around the mid 90s, cosmetic and fragrance companies started hiring actresses and singers to represent their products, and that was the beginning of the end of the super model era. It's so different today. I don't know the name of a single model. But it was pretty cool at the time. Those women were so beautiful, and so glamorous. Back then I would have given my eye-teeth to look like any of them!

I remember saying how I wished I looked like them and look at how beautiful they all are! They sure have aged beautifully and pretty much look the same! I'm so excited for this magazine! Seventies: Iman (first African supermodel), Jerry Hall, Janice Dickinson, Lauren Hutton, Grace Jones, Pat Cleveland, Beverly Johnson (first black model to be on the cover of Vogue)...
Eighties: Anna Bayle (first Asian supermodel), Dalma Callado (first Latin American supermodel), Katoucha Niane (YSL muse), Mounia (YSL muse), Gia Carangi, Paulina Porizkova, Tatjana Patitz...
