- "I'm not trying to be the prettiest girl in the room." In the midst of Spring/Summer 2024 Fashion Week, Pamela Anderson invited Vogue France to join her as she prepared for the Vivienne Westwood show. In the privacy of her hotel room, we were surprised to find the actress alone, without a stylist or a glam team. An icon for so many generations, a glowing Pamela Anderson explains how she has been freed from the gaze of others. She also opens up about how she is redefining beauty, the impact of her Netflix documentary and more conscious fashion. A coat of mascara and a vintage Vivienne Westwood look later and she is ready for the show. In a moment of calm amid the hustle and bustle of Paris, the resulting look was achieved with less artifice and more time.

What a breath of fresh air. Finally, a 50+ woman saying you don’t have to strive to look 30 to feel beautiful
💯
They all say this when they’ve reached an age they know they can’t compete with young beauties anymore. When they youthful they had no problem capitalising on their looks. As soon as these woman reach their 40’s and 50’s they start talking like this because they’re not young anymore.
@@courtneyhawkins4072 That's because when you realize you are not competing with, nor do you want to compete with 20, 30, or 40 somethings anymore, it is extremely freeing. I gave up makeup when I turned 60 for the continued health of my skin. I was nervous starting a youtube channel 1-1/2 years later, but I realized, this is how I look and I look great. I would not go back to being a 20, 30 or 40 year old for anything.
@@courtneyhawkins4072i disagree! She s so beautiful without make up, she looks like 40. She has baby face. She is stunning! Most 20 and 30 year old girls are not as pretty as Pamela is.
Empowering and liberating
The joys of aging: becoming yourself unapologetically. Well done, Pam! ❤
the best comment , and also an statement ❤
joy of aging ? aging is death
@@leiladashaeveryone dies. Why be negative about it?
i was about to say something very similar... I love her! I always thought she was stunningly beautiful... but now, she just glows.
@dms4905 she glow because of skin care she put on and perhaps a lot of microderma abrasion and oxygen facial
This is oddly poetic and symbolic. It's freedom. To have everyone scrutinize and fetishize your looks for most of your life must be terrifying and exhausting. Like she said, she doesnt want to compete to be the prettiest girl in the room. I think that's beautiful.
Just being yourself. Normal is the best thing. You can do.
You look great in your documentary. Here.
In the age of the plastic Kardashians and as a woman at 45, I love this! These beauty standards are impossible for even girls in their 20s to achieve. It’s depressing. So to see a high profile female celebrity embrace the natural look (truly natural) is refreshing!
And its ridiculous. We know tour 5 inch lashes are plastic. Its not pretty. Sorry
Pamela is literally the reason the plastic movement started.
Love her but please be realistic. She’s beyond plastic fantastic and at the Kardashians age was just that. Great she’s embracing something more natural now but it’s still on a refined surface.
@@diabmetry1574 Facts. But I still love what she’s now embracing.
Amen.
Except she did get a facelift, fillers/fat transfer, and Botox. If that's "truly natural" to you, then you have issues.
so lemme get this straight
- she went to pfw completely sans makeup
- she has zero stylist or team
- she brought her personal vintage, to die for, sustainable wardrobe
- she's a loner who'd rather walk around paris alone
- she likes to write
- she's a living breathing icon
can she get anymore perfect?? Gosh I find her so inspiring and she makes aging look like something not to be feared. I can't describe how much i love this!
Es increíble
seriously I was not prepared!
- she's vegan. List complete 💯🥰🌏❤️
@@cassandro9445 Real talk: yes, it was a brave move to eschew the makeup, but it takes even more bravery when you look like an average woman, with more wrinkles or other skin issues, and without her exquisite features. She’s 100% plant-based, which helps a lot to preserve her looks, and has also had some cosmetic procedures done, which help her get away with the “no makeup” look and still look relatively fresh and youthful for a 56-year-old woman.
Pamela has always been amazing, then and now ❤
I'm so happy for Pam. After living a life where everything revolved around her appearance, I'm glad she's finally free to be.
Free to still so very beautiful!

honestly ❤️❤️ She’s suffered so much trauma from the hands of men and she came out on top, just thriving and glowing. Literally, GLOWING

I think she has always been a warm heart and beautiful soul. We couldn’t always see those traits because of the persona
Me too
Pam is changing the whole "influencer" game. She's the anti-fashion fashion icon of this decade.
Bffr she is sitting front row during paris fashion week and doing a get ready with me for VOGUE. She is not anti-fashion. A true anti-fashion would not travel from Malibu to Paris to sit front row at a fashion show. Y'all are so gullible
@@kilecanExactly!
Delusional take but okay...
I love ❤this woman. She embracing aging we all do .love❤ me for me. Or no lol😂
@@kilecan She complained (low key) that she didn't have a glamour shots team to rescue her from doing it herself.
Le visage sans maquillage is not working for her especially the dreadful chapeau.😂
the fact she doesn't have a fashion team and be so brave to face the world with no make up... amazing AMAZING ICONIC
and we see reality , cinema is a big cheat
But this isn't brave. It's commendable, but not brave. Millions of woman do this everyday.
She doesn't need any makeup or glam team, she's Pamela Anderson! Her name is a brand.
ICON
@@827rcIt is brave - she isn't some ordinary woman but a huge sex symbol and icon from the 90s. For women who were celebrated and famous for their looks, the glare and judgement in comparing their aging face to them at her peak must be really difficult. To embrace that and show your naked face is brave.
you can tell she has been in Canada a while now. You can hear it.
She has moved into age and out of that lifestyle, frame of mind soooooo elegantly. ❤
Agreed ! A few minutes into it I was like OMG she sounds Canadian again ❤️🇨🇦
Pamela Anderson and Dolly Parton are women who have much more depth and wisdom than the media has revealed, since the focus of media is superficial and sensational. These are lovely moments to see and share.
Who would have thought that Pamela would become this true to herself and free spirited woman? She’s such a class act. It’s really nice to see her like this.
Honestly, anyone who loved her way back when knew…she says it herself, she’s rebellious. Rebellion looked different then. It might look different next week. I think she’s just amazing because she is (and has always been) just herself 💜
Agree
I agree
She old and worn out in Hollywood. What else would she do? This gains attention.
She’s always been that way…
I think that I love Pam even more now than when she was younger. Women need more representation of aging gracefully. Pam is more beautiful than ever and an inspiration.
Pam's an ethical queen!! So many beautiful iconic blondes champion social justice and animal rights! Bardot, Darryl Hannah, Betty White, Charlize Theron, Linda McCartney, (there's more but I can't think just now) but Pam is the most notable imo!!
When the aliens come and judge our ethics based on how treat our most vulnerable- animals, children and the elderly- Pam will be celebrated as a superior human-being

no inspiration...just sad and shocking to see what we become
Yes!!! I just thought the same!! I love her even more now with her confidence and “who cares what people think “ attitude!! She is a total beauty icon! Human icon!
She just cant stop being an Icon. In any stage of our culture. She is just an Icon.🎉🎉
She is radiating happiness and positivity. She is so happy in her skin and doesn’t care about anyone’s opinion. I am so happy for her.
"These are vintage from my own closet - 'Cause I'm vintage now." I love it! She age with grace & being unapologetical is the right way to be. Love Pam! Lovely lady!
Pam really is just a beautiful person, inside and out. I’ve always liked her but after seeing her Netflix documentary she really stole my heart.
I felt it was terribly sad. She never got over Tommy or the tape.
I totally agree! That docu really showed a side of her that I really like and had know idea about. She is adorable and so relatable. I'm here for it 🎉
@@NothingLastsForeverLauraLantry I feel like she's over both. She'll always have love for Tommy - they will always be linked through their sons - but is not dwelling on it. She has control of her narrative now.

Same yes 💯❤️
to me she has that look here that you used to see in early 70's arthouse films, that liberated, confident, fresh kind of way
she really is stunning with or without makeup, but beyond that it's lovely to see beaming like this - she just exudes good vibes

Also, she's got a very nice selection of pieces in her wardrobe. Super classy. It's the type of glam and class that never goes out of style.
What an intelligent and kind person. It's wonderful to see this side of her that the media always hid. Best GRWM I've ever seen.

She seems to be in a lovely way. 👏💗 I like it.
Are you serious? She’s selling herself.
@@ighdesigns Give more details.
I suppose I should have been more clear, I thought it was too obvious. I meant, she is not selling clothes or beauty products. No product placements, unless you imagine she is a paid spokesperson for the vintage clothing market :) And of course she is promoting herself, that is kind of a given with any public person which means almost anyone on youtube at this point. She is an actor, for heaven's sake.
Also, we can't forget what it is about herself she is promoting: generosity, anti-consumerism, animal rights, kindness, gentleness....the list could go on. She is using the currency of her public image in service of higher values. If you want to talk dollars and cents :)
What an icon. And she looks so young! Her spirit is showing through. And of course, she's a gorgeous woman ❤
Honestly, I liked her in the '90, and I like her now. I am glad we are seeing her more and more thanks to the documentary.
This is exactly how 'get ready with me' videos should be. I mean she don't have a stylist or glam team, which we (normal people) can actually relate to and she brings her own clothes and shoes, that's freaking amazing. Im only 25 but she made fall in love with aging and living free life ❤️

I smiled the whole way through this. She is literally glowing in her confidence, and it is well deserved after everything the media put her through. I love that she is also having fun with fashion!
Exactly... smiling ear to ear ... feeling her freedom and freshness!!!
I'm so glad she's finally getting her flowers. We need more representation of older women who have life experiences and stories to share. We are so obsessed with gifted youth/prodigies but there is space for both.
She's setting a new standard. Love this. ❤

" I'm not trying to be the prettiest woman in the room, it's just freedom " I feel like as women we put so much pressure on ourselves to be the prettiest we can be, we feel competitive and I love that she's just comfortable with being her true self, not caring what others might think. The world would be a different place if we could all be a bit more like this.
Love the vibe of this
She is not trying to be the prettiest girl in the room…..but she is!
@@tikon11 She is because her soul is beautiful so it reflects on the outside. This means she’ll always be beautiful. I loved watching this.
Her honesty, kindness and the courage to be herself without asking for anyone's permission are more important than any make up
She has such a beautiful, gentle soul- radiates authentic kindness.
I think Pam is lovely and is more beautiful now than she has ever been. I don't think there is anything fake about this lady, and I love the fact that she cares passionately for animals and speaks up for them. She has got my vote.
Watching Pam in this era of her life makes me so proud of her.. she survived the decades of being in the media and living in this highly sexualized environment with lots and lots of performance pressure and tabloids never shutting up about any mistake you make. I wish this kind of mental peace was still possible / reachable for the likes of Britney Spears or Amanda Bynes… So glad for Pamela and anyone who comes out of the other side of this tunnel with their soul intact. ❤
After so many years of being sexualized and sexualizing herself, I totally understand where she’s coming from. It’s nice to exist outside of that framework and just be yourself. Love her so much ❤
Yep she's a real Californian woman. There's a lot more to her. Interesting person.
what's wrong with being sexual person?
@@leiladashathere’s nothing wrong with being a sexual person. That’s different than “being sexualized and sexualizing herself.” Expressing and living your own sexual self/identity is beautiful. But having it imposed on you and defined by others - in this case a vicious patriarchal paradigm that women also internalized for survival - is not healthy. I’m about the same age as Pamela. Women, regardless of popularity or ability, had little to no autonomy and empowerment in this regard. For so many of us to celebrate her in this moment marks a sincere cultural shift.
I'm glad this documentary is changing people's minds. I've been saying it for years... Pam is very underrated. She's beautiful inside and out and a very strong woman too
Makeup or no, she flashes that beautiful smile which is classic Pamela Anderson and it makes you smile back.
I love how you said I don't need to be the "prettiest girl in the room". Thank you for saying that.
💕You really don’t have to be the prettiest girl in the room…Those who stand out, are going to shine no matter what…(Whether your 20 or 70)💕
She WAS the prettiest girl in the room for many years… and it didn’t make her happy. Now she can be a relaxed, minimal-make-up, air-dried hair woman who is grateful for the great things in her life. That, to me, sounds far, far more content.
I still believe that she will still be the prettiest girl in the room. She is so feminine, soft spoken and graceful
The no-make-up look is great, but I also love the nearly all-vintage wardrobe that she brought. High fashion is often wasteful with people wearing pieces only once. Vivienne Westwood was all for buying quality pieces and wearing them forever, so Ms Anderson has taken the right approach here.
You’re referring to fast fashion, not high fashion.
No, I'm not referring to fast fashion, which is wasteful in a different way.
@@michaelbasillas8257 High fashion is often incredibly wasteful and uses exploitative practices in their factories. It may not have the footprint of fast fashion but it's still complicit.
Haute Couture is an art form.
“Im not trying to be the prettiest girl in the room”
I feel like thats the freedom that comes with maturity. You are no longer constantly craving the validation from others or trying to prove anything in order to feel good with yourself. You just are. And if others want to think whatever they wanna think about you, so be it. Cuz its none of your business
Pamela, is way more beautiful now than when she was on Bay Watch. Her confidence about being comfortable in her own skin without makeup is epic. Well done, you!
I love how Pam said, "this whole celebrity culture is so much thought about that oh everybody is looking at me, but they are not, they don't care, they are looking at themselves." So true!!!
I'm loving this new era for Pamela! She truly seems like the most genuine person, and I love that she is stepping into her authentic self with grace and respect for herself as a woman. She is so much more complex than the characterization of a person that the media has made her out to be. It would be easy to say that she is brave for attending fashion week makeup-free, but she's truly so much more than that... she's fearlessly herself and owning the incredible wisdom and effortless beauty that her face radiates.
She's so authentic. She won me over in the first 30 seconds, and the other 9:53 were pure bliss just watching her be so eloquent and so comfortable with herself
She looks amazing without make up! She's cooler now than in the 90s..! So much more interesting now too.
“ I know it’s a cliche but I love cliches, I’m so corny”. Thank god for the realness of Pam Anderson.
This is what life is about. Changing, evolving, and taking the lessons life throws at you and becoming a more authentic version of yourself. Her beauty far surpasses anything you would see at fashion week. She just completely changed the game. Well done, Pam!💕
well said.
Agreed 🙌🏼
Without makeup, Pamela looks great. She can get away with it, while someone like myself at her age looks "scary" without it. I envy her.
That's likely because your face is natural without makeup. Pamela's face is not natural and it shows, so this was just a lot of hype, as usual. No one who is that fair and in their 50s has a face that lifted without any sagging, skin that tight without any wrinkles, a young-looking neck, and no visible sun damage without surgical/dermatological intervention. I know at least one woman who has had a facelift in her mid-40s, and also spends a small fortune on fillers, Botox, lasers, etc., who can pull off the no-makeup look, but no one with a natural face. You just looked washed out and, yes, old. I wouldn't open my front door without makeup, and I've lived a healthy lifestyle and taken excellent care of my skin all these years (and stayed away from the sun since I was a teen). I wish these celebrities would be honest as our society has little regard for aging women.
@@oceansdeserts4446 Liked your comment a lot! :)
I have a relative who is in her late 50s who has definitely had a face lift of some sort, that is how lifted and "round" her cheeks look. Another person, a friend of my mother's, also must have had something done, cheek implants I think. These two ladies are financially a bit better off, otherwise "nothing special". A former colleague (research institution, natural sciences, imagine that - not a sales person at a beauty product counter) of mine for sure had regular botox injections, she looked freaky when she laughed.
Anyway, it makes me sad to see how "normal" surgery and other things have become for very regular, not-in-the-public-eye people.
I am 38 now and already have different cheeks, but I just take things as they come. No makeup anymore, will not have any procedures. Always stayed out of direct sunlight and so on, but I guess that does prevent overall sagging haha.
The bottom line for me is that I think all this make up and covering up show that people are not able to deal with reality. The ones who cover up - their own reality, the ones who think someone looks "shocking" as a 60 year old person without makeup, the reality of aging and how people look. I think it is time for more reality. But most people would disagree, including yourself I guess :D
Regards!
@heydiamantina7855 Thank you! It is definitely time for more reality, as you said. Ever since turning 40, I've been so over it. You just become invisible unless you have a lot of work done, and I see it happening with women your age, too. What a sad commentary on our society. I'm glad you're embracing aging! I didn't even think of it until around 38 (I know, sorry, but I looked so young until then). I'm hyper-aware of things due to having so many family members, including my ultra-vain father, getting tons of work done at 50+. Sigh. Take care of yourself! There truly are more important things in life.
I've always believed she would be much, much better looking without make up. She looks amazing ! ❤

The sexy bombshell became a quirky crazy sweet lady and I’m loving it. She’s such a fresh breath of air in the industry
She was probably always quirky crazy and sweet underneath the visage. People are usually not the same as their public image.
Crazy? I get sane and wholesome 🥰
@@AnakinAnnika exactly!!! she's so wholesome, wellspoken and insightful
She's always been that way haha. It's the public and media that gave her the "sexy bombshell" label.
Right!@@AnakinAnnika
I love Pam’s energy. Will tune in any time I see her.❤
I can listen to her talk all day wow she’s so sweet and soft spoken ❤
As she spoke about how free she feels, I was thinking about the beauty that she's radiating from within. When you're in the presence of someone who feels completely free and comfortable in their own skin, there's a much more profound beauty and magnetism that radiates from them. ❤
Real talk: yes, it was a brave move to eschew the makeup, but it takes even more bravery when you look like an average woman, with more wrinkles or other skin issues, and without her exquisite features. She’s 100% plant-based, which helps a lot to preserve her looks, and has also had some cosmetic procedures done, which help her get away with the “no makeup” look and still look relatively fresh and youthful for a 56-year-old woman.
@@calisongbird I definitely understand and agree with your point. There's a tremendous amount of pressure placed on women, (and men to varying degrees), to look a certain way and then maintain that look indefinitely. For women who are in a position where they don't have the money that a celebrity does, or they don't have the same genetic features that seem to be valued by society at large, it is even more difficult. The reality is, we all age. The "arrow of time" goes in one direction in general terms. I just wish we weren't so afraid of aging as a society and placed more value on different kinds of beauty. That may sound very "pollyanna" to say, but the standards people are held to can never be achieved or sustained.
Pamela is a treasure. ❤
indeed
Why? She hasn't done anything since Baywatch.
She’s an activist who has helped so many worthy animal and environmental causes. She also did Chicago in theater and was a huge hit.
@@cindyinnew ok.
J agree for Brigitte Bardot no Pamela Anderson
Such an amazing message from someone we never expected to just age gracefully and accept however it goes. I love her. ❤️
Pam's anxious energy reminds me of myself 🥺 I can tell she an introverted-feeling personality type. I don't agree with the PETA association but it's her life. Her underbite is charming and endearing 🥰 I read her book and we suffered the same violation at the same age, similar relationship experiences, being a boy mom. there will always be a special place in my heart for Pamela.
I love that she doesn't have a stylist or glam team. Shedding all the excess and letting so much beauty, intellect, and power shine bright. I love Pamela's renaissance!
She has never been more beautiful than she is now.
🤣
@@ApplePie..?
She’s fabulous! I just love how she’s grown into being her authentic self. ❤ Her joy is beautiful and contagious. This is the best and most honest kind of beauty.
I can listen to her for AGES & AGES, and i'm not even kidding. She's beautiful inside out ❤❤
She's so graceful. I'm 39 and grew up with her. She's an amazing role model. Thank you Pamela! ❤
Same! ❤️
She is starting and standing at the front of a revolution. Brava Pamela!

madonna needs to take notes.. even though it is a bit late
True to yourself to the end! I love how you describe the part of your journey as the 'sexy times'. Pam, you are one of a kind! Lot to learn from you, indeed..
Love and Light 🤍💛💚💜
