- It's time to give our 2018 Subaru Crosstrek a proper lift kit and get it ready to go off road. We decided to run the ReadyLIFT 2inch lift kit along with the Method Race Wheels MR502 VT-SPEC 2 15x7 +15 wrapped in the BFGoodrich Mud Terrain KM2 215/75R15 tires.
I wanted to give a proper review so we decided to take it out for a spin in the mud. So how does it stack up against the stock setup? Let's find out.

Very nice! Love this car and all up grades!
Thank you sooo much for the great review video!! Loved the setup and recommendation package, and planning to get them on my manual 2019 crosstrek! What do you think about a 225 instead of a 215? Would there be rubbing? If there is, do you think it's worth the improved performance?
Love it! That's definitely the lift I'm getting. Thanks for the review!
Thanks and glad it helped you out! Let us know if you have any questions. :)
Rick
I’d love for you guys to install my lift on my crosstrec. Quality work & great shop.
Don't forget to do a proper alignment after that
Trying to talk my wife into a lift for her Crosstrek ... this video will help
We did a full DIY install video here on my car when it first came out: czcams.com/video/ZYL4TVbs7GA/video.html&t=
Glad to help! I brought it home and my wife loves it! :)
Thanks,
Rick
I definitely want those wheels on my wrx now
I've been digging people doing a bit more off-road type stuff to their WRX's, but regardless these wheels look so good on the WRX.
Thanks,
Rick
Really sharp car. I'm trying to decide whether to get a Crosstrek or Forrester. We've had 2 Foresters in a row.
Nice video! Are there any kits for a 2012 crosstrek that dont need sub frame spacers, like your kit?
hola, mu buen video, existe un video con la instalcion de kit similar para la Outback 2021, modelo base, se agradece tu respuesta.
Those Crosstreks look awesome in that shade of blue but I wish desert khaki was still a color option. Still undecided if I should lift my ‘17 but the fact that this kit doesn’t require the additional spacers in the rear is starting to sway me!
Very cool! I almost want a Crosstrek now.
On another note, any updates the the Landspeed machine?
I'm liking this more and more, really a fun little daily. And the cage is getting welded in as we speak, we had a hiccup with the cage so it took quite a bit longer than expected. Should be back to work on it here soon.
Thanks,
Rick
How hard was it to get proper alignment specs with this kit
Im looking at this for my 2020 forester limited. i was wondering adding the bigger tires approximately how much was the speedometer off afterwards??
Why doesnt this kit need swaybar spacer relocation thingy
Would like to see how it works with 235s.
Great!
That is bad ass
Do they make this for the Outback?
I see all the other lifts using the cradle drop method verses your simple spacers on the struts. Why is this and is the Ready Lift kit a quality option? Where did you get them and what color are those lug nuts? Thanks in advance for your help...
Do you guys have any suggestions for Crosstrek wheel spacers? Preferably 25mm
......also has anyone lifted and kept their stock wheels and put a/t tires on a ‘17? I really like the stock wheels and hope I can find tires for them.
Do you know if this lift kit will work for a 2017 Subaru Impreza hatchback? I want to lift my Impreza
will it void my warranty 0n my 2020 if i lift it
Hi there. Do you think I can put 235 75 15 tires on the crosstrek without a lift kit?
I was one of the first 2018 lifted Crosstreks (ADF kit). Full DIY install video here: czcams.com/video/ZYL4TVbs7GA/video.html&t=
I had 350 mile on the car when we did the lift, wheels and tires. Ill tick 29,000 miles today on my drive home from work. Im also running the larger 235/75/15 and there were basically no issues till I installed mud flaps, slight flap trimming and problem solved.
Hello, I was curious, it looked like you tightened everything up on the lift, was there any alignment issues or did the alignment person have to loosen and re-tighten the suspension on the rack? Thanks
I forgot to mention in the video to do it on the ground at ride height. I torque everything at ride height, but I don't think I show it in the video.
Thanks!
Rick
Wheel alignment after it?? You have to mention details to people.
For more good info on wheels, tires, mpg, power, and other modifications to the new 2018+ Crosstreks check out this video @talonsei --> czcams.com/video/ixjCFqiQjvA/video.html
Here is a 1 year review video to check out as well from @talonsei (youtuber) ---> czcams.com/video/sDj-vMdLSb0/video.html
Crosstreks really need a rear locker. On older foresters (before CVT) you could electronically, manually lock the center diff but the only thing you can do on the crosstrek is a rear locker to make it competent off road.
So you're saying we should fab up a rear locker for ours? I mean...if you say so
@@rallysportdirect They are available to purchase and if you search youtube you can find guys who have done this. It is bolt in.
About to pull the trigger on this kit for my 21 but have a quick question: What needs to be trimmed if running the 235/75 tire mentioned???
I don't think anything. That's the main reason for the lift is no trimming
Any point in keeping the stock spare tire in the car with the new bigger tires?
Great question to consider, with the weight savings also!
I did owned 2018 crosstrek in the past.. Im only concerned how does a 148HP able rotate those heavy tires.. and hows the gas mileage? last but not least how about the CVT tran performance?
Still gets good enough gas mileage for us, and the trans is fine!
Why do you not need the sub fame spacer?
Thats what im asking lol
I want my wheels to be closer to center on rear. Found a kit that had the lift and the sub drop...now cant find it again
Can u install thi on a 2015 crosstrek?
We have a kit specific for your Crosstrek :)
www.rallysportdirect.com/part/lift-kits/69-9315-readylift-1-5in-sst-lift-kit
Thanks,
Rick
This is good but you want a full suspension 2 inch lift vs a body spacer like this. You won't regret it.
What's the difference?
does this work with the 2016 model?
No, but I think warn has one in development for that. Keep an eye out :)
Looks really good, to bad the Crosstrek has no power
Yeah, I mean it's livable, but an extra 30 HP from the factory would go really far on this platform.
Thanks,
Rick
They should use the old forester 2.4 engine (175 hp)
We need the new 2.4 turbo in one!
I have a slight rubbing noise while I drive over bumps. I don’t know if this kit is worth it.
They specifically say on the sight of you run this lift with 235/75/15s you’ll be required to trim mud flaps and then move the fender liner in 1inch and trim front bumper valence, there is instructions on how to do all this in the pdf file on ready lifts website
I want that wheel and tire package on my wrx lmao
no.... you need it on your WRX. ;)
Rick
Does it mount on a wrx, super keen too
Why 2 upfront and 1/2 in the rear why not 2 all around?
if you go higher in the rear you need sub frame and sway bar spacers.. this kit doesn't have those.. LP or ADF are complete kits
@@dustindillonz the question was why do you need spacers in the rear instead of a top hat for another 1/2 inch
I believe the rear sits a little higher from the factory so the small lift in the back keeps it level with the 2” lift front
Because higher in the rear looks stupid and doesn't handle right due to steep caster angles that cause bump steer and death wobbles.
I did this and regretted it. Bought a Tacoma and can actually go off-road now.
no one cares
@@erickg9011 you do
@@Ww8.3 no, he's right... no one cares!!!
put a rear locker in it
We really need to... soo bad!
Rick
I'm surprised 95 hp crosstrek can pull those tires without the engine exploding
They are pretty angry horsies which helps a bit. ;)
Thanks,
Rick
Do you know if the 2021 2.5l can come with a 6speed instead of the cvt?
@@moop1522 nope only cat. I just bought on a week ago. No Manual with the 2.5
@@markblankenship5788 yeah that's a no go for me those cvt are built to break too bad the 2021 crosstrek checked alot of boxes for me but subarus CVT transmissions are absolute garbage
Do this to mine pls
you in salt lake? Or local to us?
Thanks,
Rick
@@rallysportdirect nope sorry in NC
This kit looks like it's lacking in quality and parts. Other kits have more parts
More parts doesn't necessarily mean better. Alot of time less is more.
Less is more
Iron man lift way better!!
You don’t have to put a lift to put 215 I have mine with my stock suspension. No rub and looks beefy
