This is a great video for training techs to do alignments in general. Procedure is absolutely spot-on. 4 wheel alignment done right.
How do I go about telling someone else how to do there job?
Really good question. Maybe bring them a burrito?
That pop was so satisfying lol
Just perfectly explained. Great video👍
This man knows his stuff !
Always wondered how this was done... most interesting. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for your the information.very informative this will really help out
Nice information thanks.
Very informative thnks bro.
It's not just Subaru's, it's any vehicle with rubber bushing suspension mounting points. It's the alignment and the durability as well. Once torqued the rubber is now the only part of the bushing that allows movement by way of the rubber flexing. If the inner sleeve is locked in position by the tightening of the mounting bolts while the suspension is hanging in full rebound when weight is put on now the rubber is twisted as if the suspension was compressed while at ride height, that won't have them lasting very long at all. It is a mistake made often in the Jeep world as well.
Wish I knew a good alignment shop in Chicago. Hard to know who’s doing the job correctly! If anyone knows lmk please
I wish he worked on my car
Fantastic.
I just need to send my crosstrek to you guys
What size bag ko2 s are they? I’m curious if it’s much worse on fuel now? Did this kit increase wheel travel?
How does it impact the speedometer?
How lose do you actually leave the suspension points? I am planning installing my lift kit and i cant assume the alignment shop has the knowledge you do to perform the suspension loosening technique to achieve the best results. So i wanted to do the loosening myself at home once the loft is in place before driving to the shop.
So the ultimate question is do all alignment shops do this kind of meticulous tightening and loosing? Any recommendations around Los Angeles area?
For whatever reason the drivers rear toe is out of adjustment and not in far enough on mine. The passenger rear is in, but it took the full adjustment to get it there. My trek is a 19 with this lift
What about the lane assist recalibration? Is that the proper way to do the alignment? I use my lane assist alot after my alignment was done I'm sure they didn't do the recalibration and it don't drive as good as it did anymore when the lane assist is on
This is great but how can you get local tire shop alignment place to actually do that?
It looks like you are manipulating the OEM specifications to achieve "good" alignment specifications. Why does your kit require this manipulation step?
This is exactly what I was thinking. You can make anything green by adjusting the parameters.
He literally explains the reasoning at the end of the video
Jacob Hovland so you want positive camber when you are higher? Hmmmm sure.
@@highperboi ge sets it to -3 being spec
Exactly what I see
Good morning,
My name is Anderson Sosa. I have a Subaru XV and I am trying to do the rear eccentric alignment, but I have not been able to because I do not know where the adjustment bolt is. Could you help me? Thank you.
Isn't this a '19 Forester though? Are the loads/specs the same as the '17?
So after all that bouncing and breaking loose the jam nuts you're not going to recheck the steering wheel is straight before adjusting toe? Good luck with that.
What are the wheel/tire size and what offset?
Can this work on a subaru outback 2015 ?
What’s the alignment specs for a lifted 2014 Subaru Outback?
Who do you recommend for alignments? NTB? Discount Tire? Subaru Dealership? I'm in Nashville TN. 2017 Outback.
Good question. Subaru dealer just did mine and now the steering is super loose car drifting, terrible I'm freaking out
How come I never see shops using a torque wrench?
I see the alignment specs are for a lifted Subaru with larger tires. I have a 2019 Sport and keeping stock wheels and tires. What would the alignment be?
The same.
Awesome. I’m ordering the kit now. Thanks.
Could you spare a DISCOUNT code? I’ll be sure to write a complete review and advertise on IG. I’m active on IG 3K+ followers related to Off Road and adventure. I bought the Subaru to build. Please see my Outback project as well.
Ig atl_gs1200a. Thanks for your consideration!
@@eziocomparini7068 shut the fuck up
is this shop in utah? could i get my vehicle aligned here?
Just purchased a 2019 Crosstrek. By installing a lift kit does that void the manufactures warranty? Just asking
Yes
Depends. If the lift can be linked to the fault of your car - yes the warranty will be void. But if your radio breaks, which has nothing to do with your modification - no the warranty will not be void.
Thank you for this useful information, but please, sometimes clean you keyboard)))))
Where are you guys located? Do you have a shop in the San Diego area you can recommend? I am going to order a lift and am looking for some professionals to install it and align it.
If you get an answer, let me know, I am also in SD and looking to start a suspension project on my forester. Thanks.
How much to lift subaru ascent
Just lifted my 2018 Legacy and the shop says it’s within specs but it’s a tiny bit squirrelly.
the rear is probably toed in too much. Does it kick when you go over a bump at highway speed? You can always try the string alignment in your driveway just to see if its outs of alignment. If you took it to pepboys, or mavis, it wouldn't surprise me.
I need to know if I need to do any drilling on my 17 forester xt on the add strut tower I saw the ready lift kit online with instructions and said I need to drill but then it says its bolt on
Christopher Rubines on the pre 18 Subaru’s you have to chase the front upper holes just a bit with a slightly larger bit to open them up.
ReadyLIFT Video Portal so if I where to go back to stock won’t that be an issue ?
ReadyLIFT Video Portal also what is the wheel size and tire for this forester here
Christopher Rubines no problem going back to stock. The hole enlargement is micro amount.
But a real kit .
These are a joke. Cheap as can be. ..
Most good kits the alignment do not need to be adjusted this much.
Looks good, however he should have quoted the factory torque specs for the suspension bolts, and actually used a torque wrench, not just tight plus a 1/4 turn. Most are about 90lbs, and some are mid-60s. I'm sure it's fine, but it should be done to factory spec.
This Tire size????
225/65/17x8 or 235/65/17x8 +38 offset. If using 235 make sure to trim the front and rear because it will rub a little.
It's only as good as the technician? A lot of geometry is involved!
where are you located? I would like to get my alignment done by you!
