  • You all watched my off-road video right? I thought I broke my Nanrobot D4+ suspension. The front tire was wobbling. Turns out the suspension came loose and I made it worse by tightening it. It'll happen to all D4+'s eventually, here's how I fixed it.

    Sorry that hex 10 mm wont work. You need a power tool like a dewalt with a 10 mm hex head. Make sure the Hex 10 mm is 2in long as the bolt is inside the tube.

      @GingerOnWheels  Před 6 měsíci

      I don't recommend using power tools on electric scooters. They use really low quality screws that strip pretty frequently. If it worked for you, that's great though. Sounds easy.

    I have kind of a backwards question to this video.
    I have a scooter that is a rebranded D4+ 2.0. I find the front suspension is far too tight, almost as if they aren't even there.
    My question is this. I want to try and loosen them up a little bit, right now everything is super tight. Should I go about loosening from the bottom of the suspension, like in this video? Or should I loosen the top rounded nuts? Or would you recommend another way entirely?
    Thanks in advance and very informative video!

  • @everythingautomotiveeta5839

    are you saying this d4+ 2.0 isn't much faster than my Emove cruiser? 2021 model. I GPS 27 28 full battery on the flat at 195lbs.
    I seen somewhere you only got 31 mph on this model
    Does it take on hills well?
    A guy has a new one for 700 in the box. I dont need it. But I want it.
    I'm afraid after seeing a few horror stories from you and reading your comments. That is might not be that much faster than my Cruiser. And for added things that break it now makes me standoff ish on it despite the deal

    • @GingerOnWheels
      @GingerOnWheels  Před 2 lety +1

      Yeah,I personally wouldn't buy the d4+ 2.0. The 3.0 is decent, but again not much faster than your cruiser.

      @@GingerOnWheels really really great to know. I was close to buying a 3.0 but the prices just went up literally this week so I started looking at the used market. Ran across the d4+ 2.0 and thought dual motors and 40 mph sounded cool. Dual motors a third the range and only 3 4 mph faster doesn't sound the jam at all especially with the added issues

    Hopefully mine will not, I have no intention to go off road. I think a lot of people with issues are going off-roading and being a little destructive with their scooter, and many are not mechanically inclined lol. If you're going to play you got to pay, either doing the work yourself and fixing it or paying somebody to fix it

    • @GingerOnWheels
      @GingerOnWheels  Před 4 lety +1

      Thanks for clarifying which scooter, comments can be hard to track. With the D4+ if I remember correctly there was about a 20-30% decrease in power and top speed at very low battery. I think top speed with me on it about about 31mph on flats, but only 27mph with low battery. Hills made things a lot slower, too. It's not an LG battery, Nanrobot isn't the highest quality brand....

      Ginger On Wheels thank you for the fast response very helpful! I am really interested in buying a scooter, which scooter would you recommend that has a good reliable battery for max budget £1,200, I like fast durable scooters that’s not heavier than 35kg. Also what are you views on the D6 + compared to the D4+? Is it worth the extra money

    Maybe add some blue locktite to the nuts?

    • @GingerOnWheels
      @GingerOnWheels  Před 4 lety

      I'd say if you have some blue loctite and a few hours to kill then that'd be a great idea. if you locked an allen wrench in the bottom and then just unscrewed the bolt on the top while keeping the Allen wrench still then you could access the threads to put blue loctite on without having to disassemble the front suspension

    I'm debating whether to get the D4+ or the D6+. My application is to use it as my transportation while away on my boat. The islands ill be riding on are fairly small (1hr of riding, moderately hilly). My concern is the difference in the front end suspension on the D4+. I'm wondering how it rides. I like thats its compact in size for the boat. Thoughts?

    Hey buddy! Just got a scoot with similar suspension. How did you get rid of that "clunking" noise over bumps? Some say to tighten more, but it won't get rid of it. Seems like it's from metal to metal during rebound.. Asking before i disassemble and get need for parts.. Like to fix it right away

    • @GingerOnWheels
      @GingerOnWheels  Před 3 lety

      There isn't a way to "fix" it without going out and buying custom rubber bushings. 😥 You're right, it's the metal rebounding and hitting the suspension housing. Fun stuff....

    You are absolutely wrong, you have to use a thin nut wrench and tighten the nut just under the cap that's at the top of the spring against the top nut. Doing what you suggest does nothing.
