I just got to this chapter today. Regarding the 3rd match against The Forest Sage horsey, he is normally Null against wind. (As a test, I tried using my 5* lvl 69 NS Veina. Yup, he is immune to Elven Twister, her Wind spell). However, he's also weak against slash. If there is a conflict between Weak and Null skills, the game will prioritize Weakness first. This is explained in the Battle Mechanics section of the wiki. But it's not well explained in game, so I can see where you were confused there.
