    Nice Three speeds. Vodafone 5G was slightly disappointing.

      Yeah, sadly Vodafone was a let down for 5G in Blackpool. If you check out the other videos of Vodafone in Liverpool the speeds are completely different and are pretty good! :)

    Those down speeds from Three are impressive however they are the only provider in the UK that currently have 100mhz worth of 5g spectrum. This should change in the upcoming Ofcom auction so it'll be interesting to see how other providers compare then

    I'm positive Vodafone don't have 5G in Blackpool, or they definitely didn't over a month ago it'll actually be O2 5G via radio Sharing as it is where I live and all over the country, and vice versa, just as EE &Three share radios too. I've posted several tests on EE, Three and Vodafone too and O2 5G is very disappointing, Vodafone 4G is much faster than O2 5G in many locations 😕 good video though đŸ‘đŸ»

    • @telecomsinternetspeeds7325
      @telecomsinternetspeeds7325  Pƙed 3 lety +2

      I'm not sure weather the Vodafone 5G was actually DSS or not but from the speeds I was getting compared to the 4G speeds I would suggest its not real 5G on Vodafone's mast, O2's 5G is pretty good in my area, but I guess it won't be great everywhere, Vodafone 4G is very fast it was very impressive! Thanks for the comments and the compliment - I have done more content on Vodafone if you'd want to check that out.. And if you are not subbed to the channel why not subscribe if you'd like to see more :)

    Vodafones ping is better, three is always anything from 45 upto 70. Even on three 5g the ping is above 50. Voda for the gaming win.

    • @telecomsinternetspeeds7325
      @telecomsinternetspeeds7325  Pƙed 3 lety +3

      That is true noticed this even with Vodafones 4G the ping is so low! But I have done a lot of tests with Three 5G and quite a few I have done have had 20-30 ping and some odd ones with a little higher but all in all its still impressive. But I get where you're coming from with the gaming haha.

      At the minute I've got plusnet isp and a three connection with one of them Huawei Wi-Fi boxes connected to a load balancing router so I can bond the throughput of both. Any suggestions on a external antenna for my Huawei router? I'm not too far from the three mast but I get a 8 to 25 download and always about a 28 upload. When im very close the mast with my mobile get the max of about 76 78 download, my home location is about just over a quarter of a mile from the mast a few houses in the way, its picking up noise on the signal. Any external antenna you could recommend?

    • @telecomsinternetspeeds7325
      @telecomsinternetspeeds7325  Pƙed 3 lety +1

      @@dav04ol In all honestly from what I have seen, external antenna's don't really to seem to do much difference. Its usually comes down too weather you have B32 in your area from the site, and if the router is locking to it or not. This is assuming of course its a 4G router not a 5G one. I know plenty of people who have done trial and error with a external antenna and it does not do much difference :)

      @@telecomsinternetspeeds7325 I've got a good link with the transmitter, rssi >-51 rsrq-4.0 rsrp-60. The only pain in the arse is sinr @10db, if I can get it upto 15db or 20db wishful thinking it will be happy days. My stats was a lot lower until I sat the 4g router on 12in square of tin foil to act as a ground plain for the internal antenna, which came to me after hours of messing about, don't know why I didn't think about it from the start but that really lifted the signal and the stats. Just need to lift this signal noise now.

      Is your local mast on the old equipment and not been upgraded? Keep a eye on that as they seem to be going up everywhere now. Is vodaphone using DSS or something because it seems like it considering LTE A was faster it also seems three 5G is optimized well on some areas and not that well optimized on other or it could just be crappy backhoul.

    • @telecomsinternetspeeds7325
      @telecomsinternetspeeds7325  Pƙed 3 lety +2

      Vodafone do deploy DSS on majority of their “5G” network which can come across as misleading when you’re getting 5G, as is some instances like this one the 4G is even the same speed or higher than some of the 5G speeds.
      Three 5G is more consistant but you are right in what you’re saying some three masts have more spectrum on than others, if I lived locally id love to keep checking the process on the lower speed 5G test as they can sometimes upgrade and improve their 5G. This is something I’ve seen around my local 5G areas.

      This was taken back in 2021 I think so it may of developed differently now. However it also depends on the mast and the megahertz on the mast I know some Vodafone masts 5G wise provide faster speeds and have been upgraded with better equipment so I’m guessing the masts I visited were not with the bestest and latest equipment and highest megahertz
