in the 80's..i could buy 2 bikes for a little over $4000 ..a 125 & 250 or 125 & 465/490 YZ.. 2 strokes were so cheap to race... that was alot of money but still affordable ... the high cost to buy a bike nowadays will kill the sport for anyone who isn't a high income earner or sponsored by Mom & Dad ( we had those back then too )
i laughed hearing a $1800 exhaust upgrade on another channel...that was a complete bike in my days....pipes were $200- $250 up here then 🇨🇦
$10k - $12k for a bike ( plus taxes ) then how much upgrading it?? would you have close to $20k after exhaust/engine/suspension upgrades??? plus gear costs??
what is that nowadays?? Helmet/Boots/Clothing etc...
And then a expensive Van ?? also upgraded.... this is Crazy... I know this has become a very expensive sport...but that usually kills it for the Average guy....one without Rich Parents funding their kid's Dreams or Hobby...
    Man i sure am glad i raced back then ( 1975 - 1990 )

Look at the average median income difference in 1976 all the way to 2022. Sure a 1976 CR250 was $1300 plus setup and tax but look at the average median income of $9200. This would buy you 7 bike on that income.
Today a new CR250 cost $8300 and the average median income is $63,000 Today you could buy 7.5 new CR250's with this income.

Basically saying he has committed to supercross only but the team has giving him a 2 year contract if he wants it. I don't know what changed? You've talked about this on a live show. You can get a great full suspension mountain bike for $5k and a Japanese 250 for $10k. Freaking hard to wrap my head around that until I quickly realized that they make most of their money on parts, which are expensive. There's a lot of Japanese dirt bikes as well and dealerships to sell and support them. KTM has all these brands with fewer dealers for them. Correct me if I'm wrong, but KTM has a pretty good dealer chain in the US. Don't know about Husky.

A battery loses capacity after being used and recharged multiple times ( hundreds + ) and slowly loses the 100% charge it could achieve when brand new....this is known if you used cordless tools for decades or like i have since they came out.... having spares to rotate and charge as you work lengthens the life of a battery but they soon lose a cell ( individual battery in pack ) and the battery loses capacity and run time for your use...this will be the same for an Electric Battery powered vehicle too..2 or 4+ wheels ... they are fine but have their own weaknesses as any motorized vehicle has too....
there is a place for them in the sport and will be better but not soon .... like long distance vehicles hauling heavy loads...a battery is Never going to compete with a Diesel engine....would you fly in a Electric Plane? across the oceans? like you can ?? not I...nope...

I am not a fan of the electric bike and I would not worry about the battery has long as it will last at least 30 plus minutes for a moto, because I am sure they are some kind of lithium. They can always swap batteries out between races. However, I race R/C cars and batteries and how new they are, the way they are charged, what is their capacity it, and their IR are all a big deal, along with the ESC and it's programing. The only thing I think that is cool about the electric bike would be the ability to program the ESC with something like push control for cornering to help maintain corner speed which I think all riders would like.

They all sit back and wait during election years. I work for a large company who makes home products. I been there since 1990. Its that way every election year when you have one driving inflation and one who will turn the economy around. It started back when clinton ran the first time and he was pushing for NAFTA. most companies who made products here held off on growing companies to see who would be elected. I believe if biden wins you will see husky or gas gas take a hit . Possibly cutting back on one or the other. And companies will hold up on changes and keep prices down. I think your gonna see a slowdown in changes to around every 4 to 6 years. Prices cant keep going up. $10,000 is about the limit for 75% of the dirtbike buyers. Most average people dont need holeshot devices, map switches, and junk like that. Just make a good reliable bike.
