Full build AP is stronger than Full build AD, however AD gets his power spikes faster, so AD was better before durability patch since games rarely close in on the 40 min mark, and they are much shorter, but now after durability and in low elo, games often and almost all the time get to at least 35 min mark, so depending on the elo you are in, check your match history, if you see its very common for 30+ min games, then AP is better in the late game, if not then go AD, also if your entire team or atleast the big damage dealers are AP you should go AD, (what i mean by that is: your mid is AP, jg: AP, adc:AP, and you have a pyke as supp, then you should go AD since pyke is not a damage dealer as he should be since he is a supp, some supps can be a damage dealer like senna tho) and if your entire team is AD or atleast the big damage dealers are AD then you should go AP, As i said you will feel the strength of AD much earlier in the game than AP but in the late game with AP, you are pretty much Death itself.
