I really must point out that
Jonesy is absolutely putting on a "Bass Clinic" in this song! 🤯
He's so locked in with Bonzo, in such a smooth and effortless way, that you can sort of miss what's going on with the bass (for the "uninitiated").
Besides the rest of his awesome grooves, the point just after the lyrics say "There can be no denying, that the wind'll shake 'em down", he does a riff on the bass that is so freaking cool! It sounds like there's some modulation and overdrive on it, and he only does that once in the whole song.
When you break it down, it's like he reached into his bag of tricks, and grabs a handful, and gives you a bit of this, and a bit of that... and does it all so smoothly... 👍🤘🔥😎

LOVE this video!!!! This is now my favorite of yours. To answer your question, yes this is a VERY underrated Led Zeppelin song. It's so funny that, back in my big Led Zeppelin listening days in 1984 when I was 16-17 years old, for some reason I never really played this song, or if I did it didn't make much of an impact on me. But just 2 years ago I rediscovered it, and wondered what the hell I was doing for so long without it. This is now my all-time favorite Led Zep song. Just like you said, it is so funky and groovy and heavy all at the same time. I am in such love with it at the age of 53.
Speaking of Dion, I humbly recommend to you his 1989 comeback song "King Of The New York Streets." I guarantee that you will love that one too. Big hugs!!!!

This is absolutely my favorite Led Zeppelin song, with my favorite of Jimmy Page's solos and it is definitely underrated. I didn't hear it on the radio, my first exposure was having a jam session with friends and Joe, the drummer started playing the intro drum riff to this song, then one of the other guitarists started playing that guitar riff and I was dumbfounded.. and hooked. There's a line "my lover she is lying" that hits home with me as I'd met a woman from Poland at work and we started dating, then she had to go back and Poland is almost literally "the dark side of the globe" from my home in Oregon. If I ever met Robert Plant I'd love to ask if "And the wind is crying, from a love that won't grow cold" is a nod to "The Wind Cries Mary"
