BG Music:
Those keyboards are called GOIN' TO CHURCH!! bruthas and sistas! Love it.
Best band ever. The Mighty Led Zeppelin. â€đŻ
of course
I m impressed at how Brad has grown from only being interested in the meaning of the lyrics to now, when heâs getting into the music a lot more. Real progress.
I noticed it too lol. Good for him.
Good music will do that to a person âđâź
I'm not trying to generalize, but it seems that individuals raised predominantly on rap are programed into thinking lyrics are always the most important element of a song. It's like they can't appreciate melody, harmony, or the intricacies of instrumentation, because those are not the main elements of that form of music. The words and the beat are the main elements in that form of music, so they gravitate to that. Hip Hop is changing though, starting to incorporate other melodic elements of music into their songs. It's been happening for a while, but it seems like more so now, especially with artists like Ella Mai and Khalid. I almost hate to even lump Khalid or Ell Mai into the Hip Hop category, because they cross so many genres in their style. And I think with the advent of CZcams, more and more younger people will start to recognize the genius of Robert Johnson, Hank Williams, Fats Domino, Ray Charles, Led Zeppelin, the Beatles and others, and more and more, music will evolve into something more meaningful than what rap started out to be.
Peace
I think it's good to pay attention to the lyrics, but sometimes you just need to vibrate with the song, it's about balancing and enjoying each part.
I'm sorry, but when the song is a vibe, I can't enjoy Brad's reactions, I literally put a piece of paper in my notebook so I don't see Brad's face, because he ruins Lex's reaction. I hope they start doing solo reactions in the future!
i'm NOT a Hater , but i'm *HATE* when Lex was totaly vibe the song with her eye closed and brat Paused the song and Cuts the vibe ... >_
There are a bazillion great Led Zepplin songs. But this one is a treasure.
The blues by Led Zeppelin are awesome!
Aw man!!!!! No rock band does the Blues quite like Zeppelin!!!!
it literally ways a mega-ton
Fun fact. The only track in Led Zeppelinâs discography where Page used a Gibson Flying V. Would have loved to see footage of him using one on stage.
I wasn't aware of that. Neat info
His first two albums he used a telecaster, honestly thought that was his greatest tone, but he had many đ€
Robert Plant shines on the Harmonica and vocals on this track. A blues tune wrote by Willie Dixon. Zeppelin mastered it
Wow! You finally reacted to "You Shook Me!" That thing between Robert Plant singing and Jimmy Page on guitar is titled 'call and response.' Thanks for finally responding to this wonderful bluesy song! đ And kudos to you, Brad, for finally getting the mystery of Led Zeppelin. Their music was made to be 'listened to, which meant that those of us back in the day sat in front of two awesome free standing speakers and an incredible turn table and separate audio receiver set, got our groove on with a drink or a joint, and LISTENED to this incredible music. If you think their individual instrument sound separation is phenomenal in your headphones, just imagine how damn good it sounded coming out of two free standing stereo speakers.
Bingo! I did exactly the same thing! It was head music!
I can't believe you just told a couple of Black people about "call-and-response." You do know where that came from, right?
@@barence321 Well, didn't you hear them say they didn't know what it was?? I was just helping them out. By the way ... 67-year-old black woman here. Nice to meet you. :)
@@Dreams4U2 đâ€
Amen to that!! Same with Pink Floyd, Jeff Beck, Robin Trower & Rusted Root. â€
Harmonica and organ adds so much texture to a blues track, Zep nailed it with this one
As usual...a magical song by the greatest band to grace the planet! Robert on that harmonica!!
@@KASPA-KEY JBG>LZ
Wait. What?
Pink Floyd had nothing to do with this song.
Yes! That harmonica playing..huh!
The vocal/guitar interplay!! Just astonishing.
As soon as you ended the track the bass line to âDazed and Confusedâ started in my mind because thatâs how it goes on the album. Zeppelinâs appeal is miles wide.
The greatest Rock and Roll band by a long shot!
Zeppelin were just so good. So good. Everything was different but great.
The secret to blues guitar is making that guitar tell the same story/ feeling.
I'm in a metal band but I always put some stank blues in my guitar leads/ rhythms.
Yes, this is "drink hard whisky until you pass out" blues music/
Awwww Brad,,,,,comin' 'round to Zeppelin,,,,đ„đ„đ„ We knew it was only a matter of time. đđđđ
4/27/77 I saw the band play what is known as the show DESTROYER.
There really wasn't a rock singer around back then who's voice was capable of mimicking the guitar like that.
It was an amazing thing to here - far beyond what anyone else was doing.
Ummm, Deep Purple did the vocal/guitar call/response thing all of the time and did it even better. It was pretty common and came from old blues singers. Rod Stewart also did it with Jeff Beck in the Jeff Beck Group.
Love The Led Zeppelin Bluesđâ€ïž
Allllalll night loooong...
The greatest rock and roll voice of all time.
I love the way Plant almost blows the mic/speaker out at the end. So raw. A triumph
I love Zeppelin when they get real bluesy
All the solos were insane but John Paul Jones had put his stink all over this one. SO DAMN GOOD
One virtuoso solo after another!
Jimmy's slide work on this is impeccable and as usual he channels all the blues greats and Jon Paul on the Hammond M 100 is fucking brilliant!
Oft overlooked, underrated was Jon Paul but he was a Master.
That was the blues, Led Zeppelin just cranks it up a bit.
đ€đŒLEXđ€đŒ, Back Alley Orchestra ?!!! Excellent analogy,,, I wish you both well,đ
There is nothing sexier than Robert on the harmonica â€â€â€â€â€â€â€
When I was younger I rocked out to Led Zeppelin so much and still do.đ
Once you figure out that it's just their instruments having an orgy, then LZ finally makes sense ... :-)
Page used ORANGE guitar amplifiers for the O2 Celebration Day show. The middle two letters of the name were blanked out.
@@joef5683 Hah!!! :-)
This song is one of favorites of all time. A beautiful raunchy blues and rock song that will last forever.
All I gotta say is it's Led Zeppelin. 'Nuff said.đ€đ€đđâ€
This was a 1962 song sung by Muddy Waters and written by Willie Dixon with instrumentation by Earl Hooker. Quite a pedigree. Since Zeppelin evolved from the Yardbirds, it's no surprise that they were into classic blues.
This song is what got me into blues music. đ
It's like an unexpected birthday present. Led Zepplin on a Monday. Beautiful.
Harmonicas were hot in the 70's, from Robert Plant to Ozzy Osborne, they all used them, and they are two of my favorites... check out Ozzy on harmonica in the song "The Wizard" when he was with Black Sabbath...
A more modern harmonica player that rocks is John Popper from the band Blues Traveler... all their songs rock, but they are best known for their song "Hook"...
The have done a reaction to Black Sabbaths "The Wizard" already.
After the second time Robert sings: ".....and I have birds that sing," if you listen closely, you can hear them laughing in the background of the recording. They were just having fun.
Ya, when you see the lyrics it is kinda funny .A tad absurd in a wonderful way.
It should be noted that a 'bird' in British slang is a woman.
My friend always thought he was pointing to his weenie while singing this and plant chuckles
All right, now I need to go listen to this whole first Zeppelin album again⊠54 years later and still one of my favorites..
Legendary first album
LOL! Brad had me rolling đ€Ł
That's early Zep right there, and already you can see they were going places.
Even Brad was grooving from side to side on this one. Great reaction once again guys. Zeppelin rule.
Tell em...John Paul...tell em
I love that back alley orchestra. That is the best description I've heard for this song.
Dude, me too but I lost it when she told Brad his brain doesn't work!đ€Łđđ€Łđ
Nasty...and we love it!!
đâ€â
Led Zeppelin doing the blues is GOOD STUFF. Thanks for this!
Her face when he said it made him think about drinking >_
If this isn't the true definition of the blues nothing is.
One of the best led zeppelin sons ever. Great choice.
@8:28
Lolz đ pretty much the essence of this song- spot on Brad!
shook is meaning like she moves me. hes describing how this girl makes him feel when he is with her.
the "alley" sound that lex hears is natural room reverb, obtained by setting up microphones at a distance from the instruments to pick up wall reflections.
the echo recording is then mixed with the dry track to make it sound like you're somewhere in a dive bar with brick walls echoing everything the band plays.
My favourite Zep song. Demonstrates the brilliance of the band with each solo. The boys have that blues groove Lex đđžđž
Members of Zep were initially inspired by the blues greats going back as far as the 30s and 40s, real old school: Willie Dixon, T-Bone Walker, Sony Boy Williamson, etc. As the band developed, they built more of their own sound, but never fully left the blues behind. On their last album, Presence, they wrote an adaptation of an old gospel blues standard dating back to the early 20th century: Nobody's Fault but Mine. Zep is the best-selling rock band of all time, and for good reason. All the members were virtuosos and masterful songwriters. In their heyday, they'd sit down and write songs from scratch, even complex songs like Stairway to Heaven and The Battle of Evermore. They were not only great musicians and songwriters, but excelled at improv, for seldom did they play any song live the same way twice. All of this is why many call Zep the greatest rock band of all time. Simply the best.
I love when a band like Zeppelin make their guitars sing along with the vocalist... I've always thought Zeppelin has made everyone of their instruments sing along...bass, guitar, harmonica, orchestra and drums!! Love me some Led Zeppelin...they are my favorite and my life!! Always makes me want to smoke a big Ole fatty or rip some bong hits!! Lmao
Brad's comment at 8:26 nearly made me choke laughing whilst drinking a glass of water. Thanks Brad.
I fucking died đđđđđđ
I absolutely loved your reaction to this great great zeppelin songâ€
Love when yâall react to Zeppelin â€â€â€â€!!!!!
All I got to say about this one is, whomever Robert was singing to and/or about MUST have been one really, really, really good piece of "puddin' tater"!!! lol - Love it!
Ahhhhhh ear candyđ€â€ïž these cats out mastered the masters.
My all time favorite band! I don't know how many times I have listened to every song but my personal favorite is the Ocean!
Thats part of the magic of LZ they have something for everyone.
Willie Dixon and Muddy Waters blues tune! I caught Willie i Austin in â77 at a small bar! Great show!
Blues. YES!!! love it!
Always loved Bonham's fills during Page's solo. So explosive.
I wish I could go back in time and hear this album again for the first time
and have my mind blown.
At this stage of the game Iâll settle for being blown in any way .
I've always enjoyed the way Pages guitar and Plants vocals played off each other too.No one else in the rock world does it so perfectly (if at all.)
I'd have to put forward Ritchie Blackmore and Ian Gillan who were fantastic at that, notably in live performances of Strange Kind of Woman...
@@stevemoss7793 Brian May and Freddie Mercury were known to sync up a few times as well.
I got this album and Van Halen 1 in the summer 1985. That was a good summer.
I Can't Quit You Baby is another great blues song off this album.
Both are excellent selections!! VH and LZ were 2 of my absolute faves in the 80s...and they still are! Class of '86, baby!! đ
Wow, love this LZ song - such a heavy, bluesy song. Each time I hear it I become totally relaxed and chill, like you said Brad "it's a vibe" - time for a drink! Thanks guys for reacting to this one. Lex's comments are pricelessđ§Ą
This is a old standard blues song written by Willie Dixon.
@@brianherrington7226 Hi Brian, yes and didn't Willie also write "Can't Quit You Baby" that Zeppelin sung on one of their first albums?
@@Jules-um4yy Yes mam you are correct. Zep rearranged a few other traditional blues tunes along their musical journey.
@@brianherrington7226 Thanks Brian for confirming that:) Love the blues...
@@Jules-um4yy It all comes from the blues baby.
I saw them do this live October 24, 1969. Boston Garden
When I saw Zep in 1969 at the Fillmore West, they did this song (they played the whole 1st album) and I was blown away. Top bill was Taj Mahal (another artist to check out) and he had to follow them twice that night. They were blistering in their performance, and ran out of the album songs so they started jamming.
Never see anything like that again.
I was all set to say how my favorite comment was Lex talking about the song reminded her of a back alley orchestra. And then out of left field comes Brad with his "dog sucking off another dog" statement! đ€Żđ€ŁGood sir, that made my mind zig where it was supposed to zag and for that I say "Well done Brad"! đđđ
Lyrics & musical talent GOAT!
One of LZ's best blues numbers. It has that "bump and grind" beat that was so often associated with strippers in the forties, fifteis and early sixties and yet still incorporates an organ solo straight from heaven!
i grew up with this and he hit the nail on the head when he said 'makes me wanna drink and get shook', Welcome to my childhood
Robert with his deep voice, which he had in spades on this album and all the singles he put out in the mid-late 60's PRE-Led Zeppelin.
Frankly, I like hearing the song at 1.5 speed, that's just me.
Blessings to you & your baby.
The first time I ever heard this was about 35 years ago at a frat party with true quadraphonic surround. Mind blown!
Out of all Their great albums,Their 1st album is their best in my opinion
"Their 1st album is their best" FINALLY -- somebody said it!!! đ
(though personally I prefer their first album over their 1st ....)
I love them all but just based on The Rain Song and No Quarter alone , Houses Of The Holy is my favorite album. The live versions especially.
Definitely one of them. I like Physical Graffiti too & of course IV. So much good music but I won't disagree with you!
Best album is the one with their name on it.
Was always mine!
Yall are awesome. You guys totally compliment each other. I had fun. Can't wait to see that kid.
Brad really, finally gets it!! Jimmy Page's guitar SINGS!!
Aww man, Brad got me with that one...lol đ€Ł
Thanks for the evaluation , i'm 68 and love people who enjoy the classic older music! All types of music was played on radio in those days , soul, rock , country etc. It was a mix and people enjoyed it !
Brad you have perfected the art of pausing the song at exactly the wrong time! :)
Brad is spellbound! Feeling the groove!!!
YOU GUYS ROCK! :)
This reminded me when a sweet thing put Zep on the jutbox n shook me all night long.. time well spent... need me sum more :)
Best everâŠhappy you got the synchro between all four of themâŠ..never heard a better band and Iâm 67âŠ
đ âBack alley orchestra.â Pretty much.
Instantly added to my favourite Brad quotes; "...also, it makes me wanna like... Drink." F*** Yeah Buddy! Cheers!
Love Zeppelin.. I gotta get those old CDs out, its been a while.. Great reaction!
Dogs sucking each other off in alleyways -- Brad that was the best laugh I've had all day!
Glad to see you guys got the Led out with this classic track.
I was about 12 years old when my older brother brought this tape home. He really only liked communication breakdown but I loved that tape, I wore it out then I bought the album and I wore it out. Lol I still have the album. Plus I got to see Led Zeppelin live in 75 and 77.
Back alley...apropos description for all these sounds! This is from their first album -- which is my favorite of theirs-- and one of my all time -any band any genre of music albums.
Yes that was jimmy and roberts thing to feed off on each other. The first live television show they did that and was impressive. That's Robert plant blowing the harmonica alot of people didn't know it was Robert.
His baby left him and it shook him to the core. Now he's howling like a hound dog left alone.
OMG Great> !!! We all have Brad's orgasmic face burned in our memory. Just put a ice pick in my eyes LOOOL. So funny I almost spit up my tea. Now you guys. Do Jeff Beck's version with Rod Stewart on vocals! The Jeff Beck version came out about 9 months before the Zep version. See which one you like more. Good vid!
One of my favorites !!
Love your new stage. Great great song and loved your reactions!
Some nasty blues nice stuff
Whoa, I just had a flashback, I remember when I used to smoke weed back in the 80s and jam on this song đđ€Łđ
Love the reaction. This song hits slow and hard
