- Getting a chance to try out some totally new products in this shave. From Canada-Henson Shaving has a new line of razors in various colors. In today’s shave I’ll be using the red de safety razor.
Next, from Phoenix Artisan Accoutrements, the Amber Aerolite Synthetic Brush. This is a hybrid between a bulb and a fan knot. Next to promote Breast Cancer awareness is Pink Boi Aftershave and soap from Gingers Garden that smells exactly like Bubble Gum. There is a raffle to win a whole set of Products from various Shave companies including the Pink Boi products - soaps, brush, aftershave etc. All you have to do is donate to the Breast Cancer Awareness site in the link below, and send a copy of your donation receipt to be entered. Great shaver. The cool looking Henson razor is something that I should consider upgrading to when I decide to upper up my shaving experience. Nice looking brush, and a bubblegum scented soap is something that I would love to have because the smell of pink gum is so pleasant to me
The Canadian wet shaver Facebook crew went nuts reviewing this razor when it was released. To inform your purchase, below are the only negative comments I heard.
Weight - it's an aluminum razor, so it's light. Benefit: aluminum doesn't corrode.
Head geometry - the sloped head forces the shaving angle. You can't ride the top cap or the safety bar. This makes it easy for newbies to figure out the angle. Several other razors are like this (notably the Feather AS-D2).
Positive comments include customer service, performance, price, not made in China, fit and finish, and colour selection. Plus, they offer a milder version (marketed as the Women's).

For me, I think I found the best razor and shaving cream combination. I love the Henson razor and Rockwell's Barbershop Shave cream. it's now my favorite razor.

That 'spacer' is a low friction tungsten thrust washer. Eliminates wear at the contact surfaces and enables easily repeatable torque of the handle to the top plate.

Smokin Gun I had shown much more clips in the past. If the clip goes over so many seconds, i get hit with a copyright violation warning from CZcams and am asked to take down the video, or leave it and give up up rights of the video to the copyright holders. It also happens if music is heard in the background of my videos. I will try to squeeze more clips in. Maybe if I stagger them it won’t trip the copyright warning👍👍👍👍

Don't regret my Henson purchase one bit. It was my 3rd razor, and made the whole routine much easier. No more worrying about my angle; it's very intuitive. Don't see myself buying anything new unless they come out with a heavier razor.

I find myself pushing also with the Henson. I'm reverting to using the pressure I used before converting to DE razors. I'm thinking I should use a sharper blade with the Henson.
Just used my Azure medium aggressiveness Henson for the first time yesterday. Great three pass irritation free BBS shave. Great daily driver - in my top 2 or 3 for sure! I will be curious to see how it performs on 4-7 days of stubble. Will add this razor to my regular rotation!

Incorrect Kensurfs. The Prequel to "The Thing" was a 2011 film. This is one of my favorite Double Feature Horror Movie features to watch. The Original John Carpenter's "The Thing" was a 1985 release and you may notice I qualified this comment because 1958's "The Thing From Another World" which featured James Arness as the Thing was THE Original and I bet you didn't know this: 1972's "Horror Express" featuring Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing was actually based on the same James Campbell short story "Who Goes There" upon which ALL OF THE THING MOVIES are based. :D
You are right. James Arness from gun smoke played the Thing in the 50’s version. I like how the new one ends with the helicopter chasing the dog towards the American Base.
Great video and review(as always), Mr. Kensurfs. The head of that Henson Shaving razor reminds me of the head on the Fine Marvel razor. Very intriguing, the Henson razor seems to have good tolerances and fit. If only it wasn't a light razor.... I wonder if Henson Shaving has a stainless steel safety razor. That would be more suitable for me, in terms of weight. (I prefer a razor with some heft and weight.)

The mild was designed for shaving the head, armpits, legs etc - according to Henson Shaving.

The angle on the cutting edge looks interesting and you seemed to like the way it lined up and glided on your face. Nice shave. But I'm not sure I'd be ready for bubble gum first thing in the morning 😉 That razor looks to have a built-in shaving angle. How do you manage such smooth and close shaves in two passes? I've never seen you do a 3rd pass or pickups. Stay safe and healthy.
His facial hair is all white/grey which means he leaves no shadow behind which helps make the shave look closer.
My beard is not very coarse so two passes does it great for me👍💈

Do u have any views on Wilkinson Sword shaving soap? I’ve found the white soap in a black plastic tub notoriously difficult to lather and find it watery and dissipates quickly but recently tried the blue shaving stick with much better results? Perhaps that is made by another company and WS branded?

I have very sensitive skin with very think beard and I have come to be big fan of mild razor. Since you reviewed the Feather Popular about a year ago, can you please let me know how mild is Henson vs Feather Popular, and also which is more comfortable and better shaver.

Both are great but the sharper blade in the Henson should work pretty good

I really appreciate you making all these videos. My father in law loves the idea of safety razors but is afraid of them because of a prior incident. Would this be a good one to get for him in case he has the courage to revisit? I am thinking of also giving him some mild DR blades.
I ordered the standard henson a13 and I have been prone to irritation/nicks in the past when using an electric razor/other basic brands. Granted I only used it once, but I had no nicks and a close shave. Check out what people say on Reddit too.

Wilkinson's Sword are good quality blades when I don't get Gillette 7 O' clock super platinum blades in my market I buy them loose i.e 2-3 no.s
