A tip for those who prefer to stay distant from sharp objects, 😊 you can use bits of thread or string, twine, etc and combine knot magic in place of a pin, tie a corresponding color string around the area of focus, you can braid a tiny anklet, necklace, bracelet, hat, anything you like, add some beads, and so on, even for a baneful doll, no needles or pins needed, just intent on the additions 👍

Yarn dollies can work MARVELOUSLY. You can tuck your taglock inside of the torso, along with little crystals, herbs, and such things. Then bind with whatever color of thread you desire, for the desired result.

I believe you that puppets or dolls is not only use for bad things ,I have stuffed toys that I put spell more than a month ago and they are not to harm but to protect .

I really enjoyed this video - love it! Very detailed, I'm happy someone finally covered this topic on poppets (especially the positives) true! Too much hollyweird bs - that aside I loved the fact you covered that poppets can be used in baneful magick as a small percentage. I love that they can be used for healing, increase stamina for certain endeavors, rejuvenate ones mental state, heal the heart physically/emotionally.
I use pins a lot (instead of knife) - but only for Hemomancy, to draw blood for increased potency in a spell - a small pin prick is better than a blades cut, but also is used in acupuncture (chinese medicines) - the Chinese were masters of alchemy, medicine & martial arts.
Now...I must apologize for laughing on your advice to hex someone, you tried so hard not to tred on the topic of cursing, but you just couldn't resist - I love it! 😂🙏❤️
Speaking from experiences about harmful poppets: I have a friend who's very big on them - loves using them on enemies or to get rid of people. They once cut the limb off one of their poppets, many months later the target broke one of their limbs in a freak accident - no kidding, I became a believer in it real quick! I myself am not so innocent when I used a poppet similar to that once, but like many others in the field of baneful magick - we'd say we're justified but justification is a matter of perception. I rarely resort to harmful magick though.
I've heard various accounts of poppets being used for curses (true horror stories) one such was a so called "assassination" was carried out in such a bizzare way using poppets where an accident would happen or someone got an infection etc - yeah the spook factor can rise with poppets - of course most of these stories were from the time of old shamans, I'm guessing it was a rival tribe or maybe invading forces. But I've heard of such things happening even in recent times!

Sticking a pin in the poppet won't break someone's arm, but ripping it off might... 🤐 But then I thought I would sound too grotesque so I had to stop myself. Lol. Yeah, poppet magick is no joke! It's extremely powerful especially when blood is used (or really any DNA in general.) And what you said about curses... I believe it! I think most times people are just scared of the unknown and things get blown out of proportion. When someone sees a doll with pins in it, of course they are going to be freaked out by it if they don't understand the process. I feel like a lot of people don't use poppets anymore which is crazy to me because it's so effective! With new age witchcraft, it's all about crystals and spell jars. But for me... poppets are where it's at!!
@@IvyTheOccultist One time these mormons came knocking at my door in the morning and they asked to share their gospel - I greeted and invited them in. When we sat down they immediately saw my alter with "spooky" black magic items and a poppet with tons of pins stuck in it - they looked shocked and quickly left, they never showed up again. They never thought to ask me what it was for - I would've answered and they'd be relieved. It goes to show: this knowledge is not meant for everyone, and the darker & more primitive forms of magick are not for the faint of heart. Some of the stuff you'd see in ancient practices can look like something out of a horror movie! 😆

@@IvyTheOccultist I let them in because I wanted to share Sumerian & Mesopotamian mythology of the Annunaki, it's origins and how men of power & influence used it to form abrahamic faiths all the way down the line to their practices.
I was hoping to teach them each sunday they returned and enlighten them - and eventually introduce them to Qaballah causing them to leave mainstream religion and embrace the esoteric.
Usually my method works. But many within the religious community confront me and claim I'm leading people into hell - I accuse them of leading leading folks into ignorance and stripping people of their free will.

When I subscribed to you a while back I forgot to click the notification bell 😡😫 But I fixed it now 😆😝 The ancient Greeks had there own poppets called Kolossoi, they had many uses but the main use was binding. Humans are visual creates so it makes since sympathetic magick is the major form/ style of magick. One of my favorite poppets in media, is from The Witches of Eastwick, the witches made a poppet out of melting candles and shaping the melted wax into there target. A funny interpretation is from family guy when Meg found her old Lowis poppet she threw it across the room because she didn't want it anymore and Lowis goes flying in the house and crashes into something 😂🤣😂🤣 I'm thinking of buying colored felt sheets to make small poppets and small spell "pillows". I LOVE your poppet! I LOVE the idea of a locket being added. I've heard of people using poppets as a scapegoat for bad vibes and psychic attacks and such. 👏I'm 👏 here👏 for 👏baneful 👏Ivy👏 I've thought of creating some poppets out of clay but idk. Great video.

Maybe that can be another video if I ever feel comfortable enough to talk about baneful magick for all of CZcams to watch. Lol. And, that's so fascinating about the Kolossoi! I always laugh when I see poppets being represented on TV... It's just as bad as how they interpret "real witches" 😂 But that Witches of Eastwick sounds good!!

If I want to break someone bones, I will take an animal bone, write de name of the person, and any other relevant info, and the slowly burn it over black fire until it's brittle and the break it, and put the pieces inside the black fire. Done. :P (I love to do it with ribs)

I'm so glad you enjoyed the video! And I suppose that depends on what you're protecting yourself from. ☺️ But in general, just having a poppet that represents yourself is protective even without the use of herbs. The idea is that any negativity thrown your way will go to your poppet instead of you. But if you want to add herbs, I always love using rosemary for protection. I know other people like to use garlic, black pepper, cinnamon, clove... And so many others! You can even surround your poppet with a circle of salt to symbolize protection around your whole body. As long as you make your intentions clear, you can do it however you like! Sometimes I will actually write down what my intentions are with the poppet and stuff that piece of paper inside it. Something like, "Let this poppet be a clone of me. Defend me from negativity..." And so on and so forth. Hope that helps!

Enjoyed this! As I believe in spirits and other planes, where dwelleth “others”, do you protect your poppets in any way? What might be a way to protect them without inhibiting the workings you want them to represent in “getting out there”?
Fabulous question! I don't protect my poppets per se, but I do have a heavy amount of protections around my home. Nothing is allowed to enter that is not aligned with my highest good. If a spirit is friendly and means no harm, then they may enter. So inside my home, I don't really protect individual workings as they fall under the umbrella of my home protection! And I don't really take my poppets elsewhere... There are LOTS of things you can do for home protection if you're going to go that route! That's actually going to be my next video (in 2 weeks or so) since protection magick won that poll I did. I'm sure you probably do a lot for home protection already! ❤️

I don't have any book recommendations, unfortunately. 💔 I know that there are some poppet books out there, but none that I have personally read. My knowledge on poppets comes from passed down knowledge and hands on experience. ☺️❤️ So sorry that I can't recommend a book to you on this!

Absolutely! Candle poppets are a cross between Poppet Magick and candle magick so you can really do whatever you want with them. Your assumption is spot on. You can treat them just like any other poppet, or you can just do a regular candle spell with the candle poppet representing your subject. The only thing I might suggest is regarding the taglock... It's hard to add DNA to a candle so I would suggest placing the candle on top of a picture of the person. (Making sure everything is fire safe, of course.) That way you still have a taglock but you don't have to try to add hair/nail clippings/etc. to the candle. You can also write the date of birth on the photo as well to be more precise. Hope that helps!

Ahh, I wish I could, but this is the one topic that I don't have recommendations for! All of my knowledge comes from 1-on-1 teachings and personal practice. I know that there are some poppet books out there, but I haven't personally read them so I can't recommend them. But I have heard that the book, "Poppet Magick: Patterns, Spells & Formulas for Poppets, Spirit Dolls & Magickal Animals" by Silver Ravenwolf is pretty decent.

So, watching this video made me think of creating poppets for myself, the husband and two kiddos and putting the poppets inside a jar of somekind for love/protection type thing, my question, I read somewhere that jars are for keeping things contained and I do not want to keep my children "contained". I want them to be protected but I want them to flourish and grow. Does this matter, can I put a caveat on the jar or use something else all together?

I personally would not put a poppet inside any sort of container unless you do want to "contain" or control them - but that's just me! I'm sure everyone has their own opinion on the matter. Here's what I would do instead: stuff the poppets with herbs for protection and love. You can even stuff some protective crystals in there as well as rose quartz for love. Then, after the poppet has been sealed, I would put something protective around its neck like a necklace. You could get a little piece of obsidian or tourmaline or something (or some other sort of protective symbol) and put it on a small bracelet or a piece of twine, then tie it around the poppet. ☺️ That way, the poppet is protected, it is imbued with love, but it is not contained!

I realize that this might be obvious to everyone here, but, can you tell me where specifically we are tapping into to get this to happen through creating the doll & prayer over it? Where is the energy source located that is transferring our energy/intent into & or over to the target?
And, what if you all that you have is a name only, no d.o.b., no tag locks, no photo, just the vision in your mind of them since last seen? Would that take care of it? Or is that too weak? Great questions! The energy can come from many different sources. Usually beginners start out by using their own energy. And as you become more familiar with how to use your own energy, you can begin tapping into other energy sources such as the earth. I definitely recommend checking out my video titled "Occult 101: Quick Guide to Centering, Grounding, and Directing Your Energy." That video will go much more in detail!
To answer your next comment, yes, you can definitely just use their name and a mental image. It might not be as potent though and you'll really need to be skilled with your energy manipulation to get the success you're hoping for. But yes, it can be done! Definitely check out that other video 😊❤️

Absolutely! This is especially prominent with spell dolls that are made out of candle wax. 👍

What happened if you do a banishing spell and and a chicken foot curse and it did not work?!
There could be many reasons for this, but the biggest one is usually the following:
Any time you are casting a spell on someone else, you are attempting to override the power of their free will with the power of your Will. And so with spells like these, you might have to do them a few times in order for them to work. It really depends on your own personal power and how much you can exert your personal power over someone else. I hate to say it, but sometimes the will just isn't strong enough to influence another person. That's why spellwork is much more effective when casting spells on yourself instead, to better the situation. Hope that helps!

Voodoo dolls made by the witch or warlock are most effective, as they integrate a personal touch and emotion that cannot be interwoven into the doll by anyone else. Just my two magical cents.
That’s interesting that you say that, but do oungan/houngan and mambos consider themselves witches? Or are you referring to a bokor and caplata?
As you already know, Voodoo is a closed religion and many thoughts around the traditional use of the doll is misconstrued. Yeah, in New Orleans Voodoo it’s origins stem from enslave practitioners working along side the Irish indentured servants. Many Voodoo practioners might also practice Hoodoo and use doll babies or conjure dolls. I don’t think it’s even or ever practiced in Vodou which is the Haitian version. So who are these warlocks and witches you are referring to that are using these dolls? If the practitioners of the religion aren’t, then what makes it more special that any other poppet or effigy?
