  • Hey guys,
    today I am back with another exchange student Q&A because all of you have asked such amazing questions over the past few weeks all about my study abroad experience in the USA. I will talk to you about my experiences as an exchange student and in particular, I will talk about fees for the yellow high school bus, sports teams as well as what I regret about my exchange year and the diversity I experienced as an exchange student in America. If you have any other questions relating to my exchange year (or any questions in general), please do not hesitate to leave them down in the comments below.
    As always lots of love,
    Laura

    The only people I've heard of paying for "the yellow school bus" are sometimes private and parochial schools, and that's because they're not state-supported. However, I've lived places where even those kids got complimentary bus service from their local school district. In theory, one should be able to get thru public school without having to pay for a single thing; even free lunches are available for those with demonstrated need.

    How about Do's & Don'ts when visiting Germany, great things about Germany that outsiders don't know .
    How about fact checking videos from expats( with limited knowledge)living in Germany
    Is it true that Mercedes Benz & BMW are not considered luxury vehicles in Germany (they're reputable & special elsewhere)? How do you pronounce correctly those German brands sold overseas?

    Laura. Could you mention all (or most) of the places you went to in Texas? Zum Beispiel....did you visit Dallas, Ft.Worth. Houston, Austin and San Antonio? Also did you make it to the Gulf of Mexico and see the Ocean?......maybe visited Galveston Island?? BTW..most students in the US do not pay for their "Yellow Bus" rides..the cost of the busses is part of the School Districts budget which gets paid, in part, from Property Taxes the kids parents pay. Tschuess!

      Sounds great! I will definitely think about what kinds of things I can film here. I will also probably move to another city for my studies in October so maybe it could be interesting to vlog there as well

      So every video on this channel posted between September and December was filmed before September? Because the background is always the same..

      @@frodo5882 Yea exactly. i mean, I always prefilm so I can make sure I have videos coming no matter how busy I am. But in this case I decided to film a lot over the summer so that i would have videos in case I wouldn't be able to film in the UK.

    What other states have you been to? Cause Texas is a whole country to itself and other states like California and my home state of Ohio is way different of what you experience, but needless to say ya there's drama at high schools..

    • @honey27003
      @honey27003  Před 2 lety +1

      Oh definitely! Texas is in many ways similar to Bavaria over here in Germany. Par of the country but also unique in many ways. I am very aware that when I talk about my experiences that's exactly what they are: just my experiences. It's an example of what it could be like and I definitely recommend taking everything i say with a grain of salt. In the end, everybody needs to make their own experiences

      Well hey are you planning on visiting the states again in the near future if you are please let me know. You should check out my state of Ohio. It has a large population of Germans in the country.. There’s a lot to see in my state. If you want some info just shoot me an email, your family would enjoy visiting the state of Ohio. And keep up the good work and giving advised to those that want to host or become an exchange student..

      @@honey27003 awesome enjoy and do make a video of your trip and check out the national parks and museums. Virginia is a very historical state and one of the original 13th states. There’s a lot to see. And as I mentioned if you ever get a chance to visit my state of Ohio, there’s places there too that y’all enjoy. Y’all gonna have a good time visiting Virginia and their food as well. Each and every state is unique to itself..
