I'm surprised a house like that wouldn't have the smoke detectors hardwired with the battery as backup.. i guess overtime you can just tune out the chirp

This guy is clearly into the gear in a big time way and no doubt is setting all kinds of Guinness book world records.
Why doesn't he come on air and talk about all the stuff he has as much as possible. I recall hearing from him before but it would seem he has so much more to share in describing all the stuff he has accumulated and why.
I don't think I have any of the items he has. The closest common thing I have is probably a flat screen TV.
I think it is not audiophile house.....it,s..strange. What for many audio systems in one house ?

Used Wilson Audio Loudspeaker or any other manufacture, that’s 20 years old or older! They may need new rubber surrounds installed on the drivers.
Back in 2012 2013 I met at Ray Lombardi (Ray of Sound) in SoCal. he was the US importer for ASR manufactured in Germany! Great products!

One thing you have to remember is that he's constantly swapping out gear, so things rarely stay in one spot long. When you factor that into the equation and how he uses room treatments for purpose and not aesthetics, it explains why not all his rooms will be showroom style.
Plus he's got more gear than most dealers 😮
I think the cost of one of his silver cable is more expensive my whole collection of audio gear at home. I should show this to my wife so she will realise I am just normal level obsess with my gear.

At this point I am living for the grounding box evaluation. I get the feeling he doesn't listen to this stuff very much. Was he there don't think I saw him. Did you check out the refrigerator? What type of peanut butter does he eat? It's kinda hard to steal anything with all the weighty stuff. Maybe he wouldn’t miss a few of the cables?
Perhaps assist him with changing the 9V battery in his smoke detector! LOL! 😆 Bottom line, he's got the sh#t!👍However, no vinyl playback??

I couldn’t hear the smoke alarms at all. Too many rock concerts in the 80’s. I’m sure it’s the same for the owner.
What does the weight of an object have to do with its function as a "grounding box". It's totally lost on me. And why is his electrical system in his house not already properly grounded? All potentials (voltage) are relative, and as long as the entire system uses the same reference (ground) then why would one spend the money on ancillary stuff which claim to be a "ground".
At some point I think you need to acknowledge that a hobby is often not about the reality of an object but instead about the activity of occupying one's time in said hobby. This video is an example of that.
And while a CZcams video is not a good means of evaluating the minutiae of sound, it is easy to hear through your recording device that the rooms that hold this equipment need a lot of work. That is what needs the money, not some gimmicky cables.
Weight isn't something that provides direct correlation to anything, but indirectly assists dismissing the notion that this is just a box of air.
While I agree it would be good to have some explanation for grounding boxes to hang your hat on, it's something quite a few people find advantageous.
It could be all in their head, but the people I'm talking about either make the "sauce" themselves and don't buy it via marketing or confirmation bias...or... You have someone like this guy who admittedly tries all the tweaks (including all grounding boxes) and of all the ones that worked/didn't work decided to engineer an even better one for himself... Not for sale and at huge expense to himself.
He's offered the physicist he worked with on the grounding box for a future zoom, so I'll try to get more details. I'm also going to try it myself when he ships me one.
@@AudiophileJunkie "Ground" is literally named after the earth beneath your feet. All potentials are relative (as I noted) and it is customary to use the Earth as your reference (since it is a massive store of electrical charge compared to anything you can make.) Where people get problems with their equipment not being grounded is because the ground wire (which is the third wire in the plug) really is not the "ground" but for some reason has a signal. Ideally all equipment should have their own grounding connection to the common reference (the Earth.) However, shoddy, sub-standard wiring in houses, and poorly connected components inside a box (e.g. pre-amp) can set up current (signal) traveling around the house. Also, signals can be induced (hence the need for shielded cables.)
But shielded power cables can be readily bought (Belkin), and a house ought to be wired properly so every outlet's ground really is connected to the same reference (e.g. earth.) And if you have a component with improperly connected internals that is a problem for the manufacturer.
Induced current is everywhere, any conductor can be an antenna. This is why shielded cabling was invented. Quartz can be used as an insulator (hence the "gem" grains in his fancy cables), and it has ok dielectric constant (though aluminium oxide i.e. sapphire is better), but there are much better and cheaper alternatives. Regardless, all of this in regards to a grounding cable seems excessive to me.

Not really a dealer, but let me know if you see anything you want... Especially Inakustik cables and Aries Cerat. He's somewhat of a homr dealer for those.

There isn't a video showing what's in the grounding box... That's proprietary, but we're talking over 5 figures worth of rare materials.

Sounds like you keep getting hung up on the costs of everything. No different than Jay from Jay’s Audio Lab. Expected more from you from your experience but you have become a big fan boy of these equipment distributors and manufacturers
LOL...you are cherry picking to fit a narrative. I cover as much budget stuff as anyone and even have "budget" categories for my awards. I just did reviews of the very economical Musical Fidelity A-1 and Blue Jeans Cables.
Plus, if you look at the gear I quasi pimp the most (my own because it's featured in most videos), it's extremely modest relative to what I could afford. If I really wanted this gear, I could have much of it.
You need to look at my content with a higher IQ and comprehensiveness than a single video. Here I am highlighting some gear that is really elite and rare which people like to know about too...much like people who smartly drive a Toyota but still like to look at Ferraris and Lambos.
@@AudiophileJunkie Why don’t you take a stand and speak of how ridiculous and outrageous pricing in high-end audio has become? Silence is consent. You are promoting products without merit and if you don’t see the disservice that that does for the end users. Back in the late 70’s and 80’s it was an honest industry but now pricing has no correlation to production costs. When you started your channel you aimed to expose this, now you seem to promote it. Just saying what I see.
You must miss a lot of my content where I call out the sheer folly of overpriced gear and even openly challenge those with such great to compare it to things I know will beat it.
On the flip side though, money is relative. To some of these people, there are spending less of their net worth than those with technically lower priced gear. Thus, it's no different than any other hobby with exotic gear that people lust over in some respects, but wouldn't actually spend money on it themselves unless they won the lottery.
It's a slippery slope to start hating on people for buying things they want with money they earned. The companies are also just satisfying a demand, so don't hate them.
Yes there are scams and snake oil products that I avoid featuring on my channel. I've also called out certain things from high priced gear publicly and even more so in my membership section.
You're overreacting to stuff in one video and ignoring others to craft a hyperbolic narrative. People watch me because I don't fit into either echo chamber of extremes and won't get pulled into such primitive, insecure and toxic categories.
Having unlimited funds is nice. It allows this person to take snake oil to an entirely new level. Case in point. What happens to the signal after it goes through the silver fire hose cable. It meets up with the approx. 100 feet of 32 gauge wire in the voice coils. It is all presented to the amp as load. The amp does not even see the silly cables. This man does beautiful work and I'm sure he enjoys the process of creating it. But let's not pretend that there is any magic here.

That's true... They don't make much sense theoretically and that's why I've saved even trying them for decades. We'll see though.

Wow he has a great wife! She lets him trash a multi million dollar home with his audio gear. Yes its all amazing gear but the set up is sloppy. With that kind of money you should be able to make it more aesthetically pleasing. I know to an audiophile it is a esthetically pleasing to have all your gear sitting out.
