US army says 36FPE = potentially lethal . Now a lot of firearms folks are getting wise .

I was shot in the head with a c02 bb gun from probably 2 feet away and had to have the bb surgically removed and the DR had to really pull the BB out like my neck cracked he pulled so hard... That BB gun fired at probably 2 foot pounds of impact energy and you can still 23 years later feel the raised bit of bone where the bb fractured my skull
Idk if my comment posted but I got shot with a CO2 BB gun from about 2 feet and the bb stuck in my skull I had to have it surgically removed.. that gun fired at about 2 foot pounds of impact energy.. the Dr had to pull so hard on the BB it cracked my neck ... So yea 40 fpe can do you in ... Up to recently the US army listed 36 foot pounds as lethal ...

PCP air guns have been around for a couple hundred years, used in militias during the time of muzzle loaders and Lewis and Clark carried PCP air guns when exploring western North America.

30 foot pounds has been labeled by the military as lethal so yeah 40 FPE even if you hadn't killed him he would have been in a world of hurt probably crippled.
I seen that video of the guy shooting that AEA and it blowing up. The guy was adamant about not using an air rifle for home defense. I thought to myself, in a defensive situation it would take a trained assassin with impeccable aim to hit that tank on the move. 1 shot from close range with that rifle and your brains are going to be all over the wall. I think I'll make the decision on what's suitable to protect my family. Glad you were able to overpower in that scenario my friend. God bless

Best situation is that everyone lived absolutely, night invasions are incredibly sketchy, I know the feeling, something came over me, I never felt anything like it, like I went into guardian mode, the slow motion thing felt like 30 minutes, I saw my woman's face, heard her voice tremble, I saw my daughter sound asleep in bed, I just felt different, no fear but sharp, ...we don't talk about the spider thing previously mentioned. Lol😂😅,

With how tge world is going I manned up and got myself a 308 AR lol. Slight over penetration issues but can help with ammo selection. Fragmenting or hollowpoint ammo.

I was thinking about buying a hatsan blitz. 30 cal, for a home defense weapon. I know that the muzzle energy is somewhere around 55 to 60. Comparably to a .25acp. Or .22lr pistol.

What I would like to know is how long can you store a filled air rifle. Say I have a similar setup and wanted to keep it in a distance where needed if needed. How long can it sit there without a refill. Could it also depend on seal durability under pressure for a
Long period of time or even temperature alone? What would be good tips for summer and winter storage etc.
Seals hold these issues aren’t a problem anymore they hold air and stay at that pressure obviously you would want to use it now and then but most have two gauges tank pressure and regulator pressure as you can see there’s no comments regarding it check some forums or maybe someone else will comment cheers

I'm all about effective alternatives to self and peer defense. One who lives in a tyrant state may consider black powder revolvers with conversion cylinders. No FFL or background check required. At least in NY state and depending on the suppliers policy. It's still a possibility but that's closing soon.

Why my shadow 2 9mm is in a bio holster on my nightstand and I train running scenarios weekly just to stay sharp. Would I use one of my air rifles if I didn't have access to my firearms? Yup in a heart beat, my 25, 30, 35 impacts Would absolutely take care of a threat without a doubt but I just have better tools at my disposal. Shadow 2 at the bedside and tax stamped 10 inch 300bo wall mounted next to the BR door. Quick access in case I'm caught in my bed with the pistol and rifle firepower at the door should there be a threat in the house where I have time/freedom of movement in my room. With that said, pcp air rifles absolutely have the energy capability even in a 22 to be absolutely lethal and the new shorties from aea in big bore Cals are absolutely gnarly.

Haven't checked the numbers, but I'd bet home invasions while occupied are extremely rare in red states. They come when we're not at home. They even knock first to make sure. And yes, I have been in both of those situations.
It's funny how people with firearms will feel like a certain firearm isn't adequate, but then an air gunner with the same caliber but 1/3rd the fpe will be out successfully hunting.
Now,.. I probably won't be defending my home with an air gun,..... just because firearms are easier and cheaper in red states.

Personally my property makes me around $30,000 USD in multiple benefits just living on it in addition to my Social Security retirement benefits as a Senior citizen , An extra benefit is that I grow a lot of food on my land. I live in a rough town as well with a crime rate higher than idk the Bronx for sure. Every house in my culdisack has been invaded. One of them twice. I’m just a couple years.
I’ve had to chase them out my yard still In my underwear more than once. Had my tires cut from gang initiation. And I’m a felon. If I get caught I’ll loose my job and will not be allowed back on base to find another decent job. I haven’t found an air gun to match a 9 though. Maybe a 30 - 32 cal.
But they don’t want to draw any spotlight and ruin the sport. I can understand that. But a powerful round is a great equalizer. I could have bought something by now. But I want to get the best I can get and feel good about it

its just that i enjoy personally when that person who is notsupposedtobe there realizes the energy that they are faceing..
yeah, i have had to do that, they came in on my mom.
and mom had the presence to intercom me and just leave the wireless handset pinging me, and when i picked up i heard two guys telling my mother to give up her atm info.
there is a glass french door faceing the back yard that is in likne with the front door, and mom sits in her recliner in the living room and is not in the line of fire there.
so me even blind i put the barrel at 90 degrees to the pane of glass, putting it twards the front door, and i pulled the trigger, it was deafening in the house, and the round skimmed off one of the guys, and went through the front door.
it was my .357 big bore. and it hit their vehicle out front.but mom said that they turned and vanished like nothing she had seen. yeah there was blood spray there in the living room.
but there was no question of if they were going to shoot back or not.
mom said one of them had a pistol.
but there were no return shots, they did not even know where i was shooting from.
mac i am thankful your situation was successful.
myself being blind, i kinda got to take things to the next level because if they realize i am blind, well you know what will happen.
so that situation was planned for, mom specifically keeps her walker beside her recliner to have there so no one can get out of that fireing line.
and 4x6 inch panes of glass to replace the french door panels are pretty cheap.

I'm glad that you and your household were alright that night. However, it very easily could have gone wrong if the creeper had a firearm. Also, any law enforcement officer can tell you that the sound of a pump shotgun doesn't always scare bad guys. In fact, it will ruin your element of surprise and give away your location! Again, bad for you.
Something to think about: stopping the heart still gives the perp approximately 40 seconds to kill you.
Stopping the brain is the ONLY one-shot stop. And most people can't shoot that well, esp. in the dark!
I have a gas powered airsoft gun thatll accept glock17 slides and internals so you can guess what i got for it along with a micro roni carbine conversion kit and yeah man ive had a similiar situation on halloween and well i dressed up in my milsim gear and anyway buddy tried kicking in my door and saw me on the other side with an m4 replica on my back and my micro roni dangling from my plate carrier and man ive never seen someone run so fast in my life and im glad they did

No airgun manufacturer or distributor will sponsor you because they will be sued for every body taken by an airgun they made or sold. There is a federal exemption for firearms manufacturers protecting them from any liability for death by their products. Airguns dont have that protection.

This a real USA comment..In the netherlands REAL guns are forbidden..BUT the western airguns rattler is not ..so for home defense in NL the rattler (9mm) is max you can get ..it shoot the same like a normal 9mm pistol..Out of a airgung ..So yeah ..we cant buy ar15 ore 9mm pistols free.But we do what we can to protect .FAMILIE.with airguns
