We were reaching out towards the next phase of ourselves, autonomous from what connected us. I couldn’t face the shame. This won’t be the last time that I find I couldn’t place the blame. Lessons that I find in love that we left behind. Palm against palm, numbed by polarity. Revelations in love and in the space of its scarcity. On the day I decided to leave, felt like an impostor in someone else’s destiny. Now I feel free. In love that we left behind. Our origins grow hazy, who am I kidding. I can’t recall what I felt in the beginning. My life is my story is my jurisdiction, and I’m allowed to grieve you in my memory fiction. Love that we left behind. I couldn’t face the shame. This won’t be the last time that I find I couldn’t place the blame. Lessons that I find in love that we left behind.

Indeed....
I miss you Melody. Always and forever. I love you until the day I die. I'm sorry for my mistakes. I wasn't strong enough. I failed you. Thank you for teaching me how to live and how to love. I miss you. I will never forget you. I will always miss you.
"my life is my story is my jurisdiction and I'm allowed to grieve you in my memory fiction" beautiful.
What's your take on the meaning of this song? I haven't heard an actual explanation yet.
@@x0scimy0x my take is that he's talking about a past relationship that he ended and how he's starting a new phase in life on his own. He talks about learning lessons from past relationships. The lyrics I quoted, I think hes talking about how he's choosing to remember the relationship whether right or wrong.
Erra seems to integrate a lot of astrology/science into their lyrics so it's hard work out the exact meaning.
Lyrics hit hard in this album. They have in the past 3 albums. So good.
@@ChaseRightOn for reals, all these bands do while being able to keep it vague enough to apply to a lot of stuff but i agree its most likely referencing a relationship.. but not specifically a romantic one, love means a lot of things this could very well mean the end of a (negative) relationship with yourself. Love that we left behind could mean an emotional attachment to parts of yourself you left behind to grow, great stuff.
Damn, Jesse sounds so good on this record. Him singing lower than usual is way better than the highs he forces out. I loved this
I agree, he should sing lower a bit more.
I dont think I've ever heard a better ending to an album before. This band deserves so much more than they are credited for.
Erra always has amazing closing songs on their albums. Dementia, The Hypnotist and Ultimata are some of the best songs they've made!
@@genossegitarre6607 preach
Even tho these songs are great, they were talking about closing an album ...Moments of Clarity/Andromeda/Render the Void/Dementia/The Hypnotist/Ultimata and Memory fiction are ALL excellent closing aongs to an album!!
Dementia and Render The Void. Dumby head. Those songs stand better as a single song even if they aren't played at the ending, but them being played at the ending of two perfect albums makes them that much more perfect of an outro.
@@genossegitarre6607 buy the album then talk about how they deserve more.
Metal album of the year!!!!! Sorry architects
I love me some architects but honestly erra has always blown them way out of the water.
"For those that wish to exist" has absolutely NOTHING on this album.
Don't sleep on Sleep Waker's new album "Alias." Don't get me wrong, I LOVE this new ERRA album but Alias is definitely giving it a run for its money.
@@PowerPlaylists If you like sleep waker check out there bassist tres other band spirit breaker.
There is no such comparison, ERRA was the best album of 2021 and For Those That Wish to Exist was a mediocre album with some good songs.
ah yes, my favorite ghost atlas song
I had to come back to this song after Jesse posted on his Insta story that "I occasionally write country riffs for metal songs." and now I cannot unhear it.
This song has Ghost Atlas vibes so hard and I love it 😍
I'm 30 now. I haven't /felt/ in such a visceral way from a piece of music since half my life ago. I can't believe how good this is. It's perfect.
It's insane what feelings music can bring. It reminds me of my older cousin who passed 15 years ago
Agreed! I think it’s the perfect song of a story and a much felt ending
Render The Void, Dementia, The Hypnotist, Ultimata, Memory Fiction.
If you know, you know.
Dementia blows this out of the water however.
@@ramenking8911 oh no! Anyway...

This song makes my eyes rain
What a song
Not to get emo and shit, but I wanna share this. My Gramps is dying of cancer and its probably his last week. I've cried to this song so much, not in a sad way, a happy one. It has such a beautiful tone and message, it really just makes me reflect on his life so much, he was such a great man, and he brought so much light wherever he went.
Erra is doing the same and I fucking thank them for it. Just, fucking beautiful.
🙏 peace brother
2 years later, but I hope you're doing alright mate, be glad you had your awesome gramps for a lot of your life, my awesome gramps passed away when I was 4, but I still have a few great memories. Not bragging, just saying to appreciate the time you have with him in your heart. Peace x
My mom passed away two weeks ago and these lyrics resonated so much with me, thank you for this
my mom passed three years ago now, i’m sorry for your loss man. i felt everything you feel here. i hope you’re doing well

Ending song brought tears to my eyes. What an incredible ending to a flawless record. Thank you guys so much for making this.
We all had a love we left behind.. 💕
This song is 4 mins long but only seems to last 30 seconds. Jesus Christ this is such a good album and this song is an amazing way to end an album like this
That outro is on repeat in my brain all the time. It's the most beautiful thing I've ever heard.
Felt that
reminds me of burn by too close to touch, which is also a banger
Right bro. This shit is stuck on my head all day
Love that Jesse is way more dynamic vocally on this record. He reminds me of the singer of I the Mighty on this track
Yes I the mighty I heard that!
Rip ITM
Going through a divorce right now and this song is helping me get through
Chin up bro🙏🏿🌃
Hope you found peace of mind 🙏🏻
This song means so much to me rn. I’m going through a lot and I just feel so defeated. Recently ended a relationship and this song hits really hard.
Same. Hang in there!

@thestoebz @Aye Manda I hope all 3 of you are feeling better nowadays.
I feel you. I came back from a sea trip and all her stuff was gone, without even a word. Shit's hard right now.
Same with two little girl involved it’s exhausting
DAMN FUCKING DAMNIT I LOVE THIS SONG. I'll comment on it 500 times to convey that if I have to. Any thumbs down are irrelevant.

WOW. What a way to end the album. I’ve never heard something this beautiful from Erra. This is a perfect masterpiece. This elevates Erra to a whole nother level.
“Nuther”. 🥜 🥴 🥜

Erra is More credited version for the future generations
I don't fucking care if I'm repetitive, Jesse Cash is one of the best musicians of our generation. You just can't composse that transition at 1:18 between a calm and beautiful riff and an amazing shred not being a musical genius, and then, in the next verse (2:07), compose a similar but slightly different guitar riff than the first verse. We must respect this guy. I'm absolutely amazed with all his work. I fucking admire him.
He's on a different level for sure
He is a great musician. But thats what progressive metal bands always have done. And there are a lot of bands doing that
@@kevincastillo5631 not like Jesse cash though. He hits different dude, Erra fucking hits different

I love you 😊😊
I feel like memory fiction means the memories you have but in your own perspective. There's always two sides to every story and each person can remember the same thing in a different way. sometimes we choose to remember things as beautifully as we can to try to make a fond memory And yet sometimes we suppress certain parts of memories because they hurt too much and that's what memory fiction is: Memories as we choose to remember them, not necessarily as they are. Regardless, memory fiction helps us to cope with with the good times we want to remember and hard times we wish to forget.❤
I really enjoyed that take on it
@@warningthisproductcontains3837 Thank you!!😁
This reminds me of the Saosin self titled record in the best way
Not alone?
Jesse has always said Saosin is a huge influence to him, so makes sense!
@@Jasper-Holland that’s exactly the song I had in mind!
Wow..just euphoric.heartbreaking and dream like....sounds weird but i can imagine waking up from a long dream about an old flame and this playing in the background...just beautiful😢
Loving the Ghost Atlas vibes!
I'm 40 years old from the USA, I've heard many, many bands throughout the years....ERRA is my numero uno from hear on out!!!! This new album is my all time favorite, ever!!!!
Awesome! They're amazing
Literally listened to this song at least 50 times. I still get goosebumps EVERY time!
Haunted, tortured beauty Jesse. Keep on keeping on brother. For all of us.
MySpace feels. Haha. Good job guys. 😎🙌🤘🤘
This is the kinda song I want in my funeral
2:20 is one of the coolest fills ever. Period.
And those tasty ghost notes following... Ugh so good
its a cool variation of the riff at 1:20
This is Orchid's midwest brother
fucking yes brother
It’s cool how some of their final tracks in previous albums had titles related to the mind. Dementia, The Hypnotist, and now Memory Fiction.
This song is so powerful. Tears happen.
That first riff makes me somehow feel joyous but also want to weep...how Jesse?? How?
This song could make me cry. Tons of nostalgia with one. Kinda like safe haven
Extremely underrated. So beautiful.
Revelations in love and in the space of its scarcity. .... lyrics knocks me onto the floor
That line always gives me goosebumps
@@StormKillzone amazing
Erra is so underrated..

Damn I though shadow autonomous was a good ending track but didn't expect this one bit
Oh man this song is something else brought a tear to my eye
I think about the people I lost or outgrew over the years. Sometimes you gotta stop and reminisce and you might find things you forgot about that hurt you all over again. That’s okay. You’re allowed to feel that.
So much credit to these bands (erra, north lane, thorn hill, Polaris) that have brought me out of misery and shown me through music the joys of life, music is everything 🤙🏽
if you haven't, check out The Artificials. It's ex ERRA rhythm guitarist Alan Rigdon's band. Heart is an emotional masterpiece.
There will never be another ERRA!
This song is something else. Had it on repeat countless times last night, just to feel as if the first listen didn't have to end.
Perfect album :')
Such a gorgeous song. Literally chills all over. I can’t stop vibing 😍✨🖤
Fuck. Same girl
I don't get why so many people shun ERRA aside just because they've changed their sound a little bit, as well as people leaving. Don't get me wrong, Augment was a masterpiece in of itself, but more their albums such as Neon and this deserve SO much more credit than people are giving them. I'm so confused as to why people just can't accept this type of change, which in today's standards nowadays, is probably the most tamest form of change. Love you guys so much, thank you for giving us new memories to hold to our "auditory excitement!" 💕
1:56 IMPOSTOR
Love the way he sings that lol
So far for this year I got two favuorite album-closing tracks, this one and Dying is absolutely safe by Architects. Beautifully crafted tracks!
The spiritual continuation of Spirits Away
This has got to be the most underrated song on the album by farrr
I'm not crying you're crying
Yah this song is my favorite from the album and I tend to love the heavy stuff more like scorpion hymn is epic but everytime I listen to this song it makes me feel good
ERRA .. PLEASE NEVER STOP MAKING MUSIC !!! I can listen to your whole discography front to back and forget about half my day lol
Possibly the most beautiful song I’ve ever heard. This album is one of the best I’ve ever heard.
It’s bands like ERRA that really stick out from the rest, unique sound and perfect blend with the drummer and vocal 🫵🤘
What an incredible way to close an album, nay a sonic experience. The buildup and extreme catharsis is so overwhelming that one can't help but feel how transcendental listening to the last chapter to close off this chapter on Erra's journey really is.
With heartfelt regards I thank you guys for making this.
*headbangs in the club while streaming tears from his eyes
ERRA is my all time favorite band period.
Okay that riff at 1:18 is midwest emo af
Those lyrics....
This sounds like an ode to the Hypnotist and I love it
This song man 🤘 saved the best for last what a album
Last time i heard an album this complete front to back it was Thornhill’s The Dark Pool album. Can’t get enough of either album
The Dark Pool is a top contender for AOTY 2019
@ItachiTheSuperSaiyan Neon is a bit scuffed compared to the rest of their work.
Loved the dark pool
the dark pool is fantastic
ERRA may be my favourite band but The Dark Pool has taken that favourite album spot since it released. I've sent jumps to that album and I've cried while staring at the ceiling of my room to that album. I can't wait to see what Thornhill do next, they're just consistently so good for such a young band.
These guys are incredible.. Jesse Cash is really impressive! As good as singing as playing guitar. & the whole band is also way too good. Love u guys!
Life was so much worse before hearing this
Fuggin cryin
Man, this really reminds me to live in the moment.
what a fucking great album
saying this album is amazing would be an understatement. Front to back is just some of the best music I have heard.
Listening to Memory Fiction while reading Attack on Titan will really fuck you up. Specially on the episode where Hanji stayed and Levi saying " Devote your Heart " as a way of saying goodbye to Hanji is really messed up. There is no better tribute to Hanji than Jesse singing " Love that we left Behind ".
Oh man I love when the heavy ballad comes in. It fills my soul and gives me chills. This band is turning into one of my all time favorites.
Throws me back to safehaven a bit. Fucking great track
that 1:20 riff is so midwest emo i love it so much
That's why it's such an earworm for me. I've cycled through genres my whole life but the only thing that's consistently stuck is math rock/midwest emo lmao.
Oh man, i kept listening to this song and that part always somehow reminded me of American Football - Never meant. Glad to know it wasn't only me that heard that math rock/midwest emo vibe.
I honestly would kill for a band that sounds just like this without the heavy stuff. So good.
