Your star burns and dies out a thousand times over, but still remains a source of light to guide you home. In flight or in freefall, glide along the evergreen. Motes of dust resembling constellations. Every step directed with purpose. Unwearied in your desire to seek. The others seeking virtue to follow will track the living imprint of your feet. Waking into the moment from a fever dream. Two steps behind, observing compulsive thoughts in a conscious stream. Let this moment break your heart. Something greater to impart. Anxieties that you try to pacify will keep you going under. Follow me to the sound. Conscious soul to be found. Anchors cast in the disarray drift away. Drift away, unafraid of what awaits. Endless edge of an endless horizon. Ships passing like ghosts over graves. Set yourself upon the precipice of the earth, feeling through everything. Let this moment break your heart. Something greater to impart. Anxieties that you try to pacify will keep you going under. Follow me to the sound. Conscious soul to be found. Compulsive thoughts in a conscious stream. The moment hits you like a cannon blast, when you wake into Being, unidentified with your past. The moment hits you like a cannon blast. Love you found in the empty space slipped away. Slipped away in the fade. In flight or in freefall, glide along the evergreen. Motes of dust resembling constellations. We are waking up out of this coma.

Do you plan on ever continuing music as the afterimage. Love you guys btw
No God, please no.
I can't believe what I'm hearing. I'm so happy this genre is still going strong after all these years.
Agree 100%. And the fact that they haven't gone industrial yet.
The genre is only getting stronger imo. The creativity and diversity is improving year by year

Jesse is unreal. We don’t deserve Erra.
The Courtney feature is great, but Jesse vocals do that part justice more than anyone could.
Agreed, but at least courtney can do her part live 😂
Courtney isn't playing the complicated guitar parts Jesse is though, is she? I've seen Erra live a few times and Jesse has definitely gotten better over the years, but everyone seems to forget he's playing some of the more techincal metalcore in the scene at the same time.
@widexawake_ yeah I was only joking around bro but, he's usually doing more simple stuff when he's actually singing. From what I've seen. He's an excellent musician and I won't argue with you there.
If a zombie apocalypse ever occurs, we must organize to save Jesse first. He is the only one who could rebuild humanity and endow it with musical masterfulness again.
Dude I'm on board.

The transition from Lunar Halo to this song is magical. This album is incredible.
This album is the physical embodiment of satisfaction. 10/10 album. ERRA has yet to disappoint.
One of the best Jesse vocal songs. Make these tears vanish kings.
Oh my god dude ... I’ve listened to ERRA and ghost atlas for years. Since the beginning of both bands. And I gotta say this is literally one of his best choruses. The feels are definitely real on this one
U just hyped me up for this track. Lets go!!

let this moment break your heart 💔
I live in Russia and we still have a partially draft army here, such military service lasts 1 year and it is obligatory. For you to understand - conditions of service in the Russian army worse than Norwegian prison predominantly because of a lot of restrictions, actually it is some kind of legal state slavery, lol. So I had served in a secret military unit when the Neon album was released. Oh, be sure, it was challenging to get and listen to it on the service computer. Nonetheless, I had rare access to it and I could listen to and memorize new songs at least somehow. As I had not any easy legal access to a music player or a smartphone I printed the album lyrics and some guitar parties on small pieces of paper and hide them in my uniform. I'd started to learn it by heart at every free minute during my barracks duty. Soon I knew all tracks and entertained myself by playing it in my head trying to playback partiture as precise as I could recall. So why am I writing this here? I want to remind every person who read this shit about the value that there is music you can really enjoy yet. Seriously, people, we should appreciate this unique stuff! I have a lot of respect for Erra guys for their art. It supports me through the darkest days of my life and never disappoints, thanks a lot for that! Jesse is one of the greatest composers of our generation undoubtedly. I'm with you bros since I've listened to "Heart" once about ten years ago.
P. S.: Btw, thanks for this masterpiece either!
Brother, such a good story. And i totally resonate with you on hearing Heart for the first time. Erra secured a special part in my heart from that moment forward.
Prayers out to you brother. We just passing through this earth. See ya in the next 🍻
I'm at a loss for words. One day we will know war to be a thing of the past.
That’s crazy man. I’m glad they help you get through it. I was just telling my wife yesterday that erra has got me through the last 7 years of my life.
Love it bro
I’m stoked for people to hear the entire record, obviously, but for me, my favorite track is No. 9, called “Vanish Canvas.” I feel like that song is where the heart and soul of the record lies. I really ties the room together. So I’m really excited for people to hear that song specifically.
~Jesse Cash~
Source? I'd love to read up on the band members thoughts :)
@@lane3574 sorry to disappoint you, The Pit interviews with ERRA's Jesse Cash only
@@lane3574 "If I had to list one song that I think exemplifies the heart of the record, if there is one song that I think is the soul of the record, it would be “Vanish Canvas.” “Vanish Canvas,” to me as of right now, is my favorite song that I’ve written. I’m really proud of that one. I think the way it sounds and the performance on it, the delivery of the vocals and the lyrics and the ambiance, the soul of the record is in that song."

CONSTELLATIOOOOOOOONS
This song literally gave me goose bumps.
I had a 6-7 km run Yesterday and listened to "Vanish Canvas" and "Memory Fiction" multiple times.
About halfway into the run, I started crying out of nowhere, because of the emotional catharsis my body goes through during physical exhaustion mixed with the absolutely stunning auditory landscapes these two songs produce.
Thank you, Erra.
Thank you for keeping metalcore alive, in its pure unadulterated essence.
This.
@Bill Harned Get back into it, Bill. You can do it!
Love that euphoria that kicks in on a long run with headphones in
This comment made me smile. Those two songs took a while to click with me but now I can completely understand your experience. Erra truly is the best band in the genre
Just realized 3 months ago we both made eerily similar comments. It hit me like a ton of bricks on my run. Won't ever forget that feeling
Melody-driven metalcore is what got me into metal in the first place. Listening to The Amity Affliction and OM&M and all those Warped Tour-era bands gave high-school me a form of expression for feelings I hadn’t yet learned to verbalize. It’s been nearly a decade, and bands like ERRA still manage to continually write songs that strike an emotional chord in me that nothing else can touch in quite the same way. This has quickly become my favorite song off the album. Thank you all for doing what you do!
Literally everything I experience whilst listening to these guys. Especially this song. It gives me the feeling of nostalgia I’ve yet to even experience!
“Compulsive thoughts in a conscious dream” what brilliance. 🎼
Best song on the album hands down. So freaking good.
Jesse is actually way too talented
Were you still questioning that? I feel fucking offended lol
He's OP af
It’s just a fact of life
Thank you, I appreciate the compliment but I have a strange feeling your not talking about me (Jesse) but the member of this band...I dont know why I could possibly think that your speaking about the band member but just got the feeling!
Lol!
There's no such thing. Of course Jesse is really talented but people forget about JT, Conor, Sean and Alex. The whole bunch is talented as hell, probably one of the best in the genre currently
That riff has got to be inspired by Remain Indoors by Periphery!
Perraphery
I thought this too! 😂
Jesse said he's never heard the song, but I agree it's similar. I'm a huge Periphery fan too, but this song is much better.
Damn Jesse's vocals 😍
Its nice that most of the songs are over 4mins long. I appreciate the extra listening time.
For real! And no interludes either. Just straight bangers back to back.
@SuperPapajew Same here. Plus my ADHD usually can't handle that.
My attention span has been forcibly stretched by the new music I listen too
This album is a masterpiece ALBUM OF THE YEAR!
I'm just here to say that I got stuck right here on this song. I'm playing it on repeat back to back. When Jesse sings "Follow me to the sound. Conscious soul to be found." That shit is just so beautiful to me. This song is so beautiful. Motes of dust resembling, constellations. Like wtf dude. Beautiful.
Dude literal tears when I listen to this
Vocal lines are out of this world
1:54 and 2:01
I have no words for the whole song, but those notes in the background actually made this song 11/10.
Goddamn it, Jesse!
Goosebumps. Can't wait to see these guys again. Especially for my birthday. Going out the Michigan way to see them with Bad Omens. Fuck my job.
Let this moment break your heart
"something greater to impart" this line is my favorite part of the song 🤘🥰🐢

Definitely one of Jesse's best vocal performances. This song is perfect
How is ERRA not more known!!
So I was listening to this album and said, "nice this is pretty good so far, I like it, alot of good, moments, reminiscent of their older work while adding new things" then it got to this song...
I took a deep breath after listening and bought the entire album...
This shit hooked me..
The entire album is amazing, but this song is just perfect, it makes me feel nostalgic and it just hits in a very satisfying way.
I think we all can agree that they never dissapoint every time they release new music.
Man the outro with JT's line and the guitar absolutely brings a tear to my eye every time
Didn't think I'd cry but 3:46 and onwards just hit different
No doubt
You are not alone
I have replayed that part 1000 times already, it's amazing!

Best song on the album
The chorus for this one was great. Such chill vibes with this song too.

This is one of the best songs I've ever heard, damn. This record is flawless.
Giving me nostalgic feelings for something I’ve yet to even experience. Utterly amazing!!!
This song reminds me of Periphery big time. A feature between these two amazing bands HAS to happen in some form in the future!
Ohhhh it's _this_ song with the chorus! This album is incredible.
*"User has experienced auditory excitement for **4:44:00**"*
Yes, ERRA is so right. This IS an "Auditory Excitement"!!!!
Hear me out. An acoustic version of this song would go hard
Oh Yes! Absolutely
Slap the tears right out of their ducts, as if you are remembering what beauty is for the first time in over a decade.
exactly what I’ve been thinking
Make it so
Hey mate. I heard you. I gave a shot at making an acoustic version of this song. It ain't perfect but hey, it's there at least.
The is ERRAs best Chorus they have ever made.
So much emotion
It's fantastic and beautiful but Erra has so many phenomenal choruses it's very hard to pick-but this one is certainly near the very top (the whole song itself is too)
It’s a close tie with ghost of nothing
Just beautiful
That first vocal harmony, oh my god... ❤️
I'd like a healthy 10 hour version of 2:50 to 3:30 please
Very healthy hahaha
Zeros!
This album is blowing my mind, 3 tracks left holy shit.
Perfect band doesn't ex- wait... ERRA..

This Is hands down the highlight of the album.
"Beauty is but a visual in fantasy..."
If they release this song to music video it will be nice
One of the best choruses i've ever heard, unreal stuff from the boys
Man, this chorus might be my favorite on the album. It hit me right in the feels
Very beautiful song . Up at 2am enjoying the new songs an smores coffee c:
Damn ERRA! MAKES ME WANT TO BREAK MY HOUSE BOY! RELEASING THEM BANGERS!
One of my favorite tracks on the new album. This reminds me of Lune by Periphery.
How does Jesse do such complex guitar work and sing at the same time?!
Very carefully
he doesn't
In the music video it looks like he's playing that high arpeggio in the verse. Would make sense too, cause it's a steady rhythm that doesn't take too much thinking.
this is one of the most beautiful songs ive ever heard. gives me trust fall by spiritbox vibes. even the main riff sounds similar. but that ending... wow. just wow. 4:26 brought me to tears
Jesse and Mike(spiritbox) are the best at using dissonance, it's so fucking good.
My gosh, this song has been stuck in my head since I first heard it. It's definitely softer, but it still maintains everything that makes Erra so damn good. I'm gonna play this song till I'm sick of it, then keep playing it!
Honestly, I'd vote this album as album of the year for 2021.
Its march
100% agree. Album of the year. It's insanely good.
This song can not get loud enough it’s too good
This reminded me so much of the failsafe by misery signals, so good!
Love the "Drift" reference
Everyone in the comments is praising Jesse hard and rightfully so, but god damn, JT's delivery of the final lines at 4:15 are just something raw and cathartic. Fuck. ERRA's best song to date, hands down.
my fav song on the album. Erra soundin’ good boiii
Holy shit yeah, hearing these two songs back to back... Lunar Halo + Vanish Canvas lifts me up so high. What an amazing and evocative piece of art. The lyrics, the music, the tone. I truly feel like these songs call me to something greater, which based on the lyrics of this album, I can only assume was the intent. I will be learning these songs and remember how they make me feel for the rest of my life.
When you have a ratio this good you know you have created a masterpiece
This song is such a banger.sheesh
The Amity Affliction has been my favorite band for a decade but ERRA is a serious contender. This song is just heavenly!
Can’t wait to hear this featuring Courtney Laplante 🤙🏻
I was recommended this song and although I don't remember who it was, thank you who ever you were. ❤
check out one of their newer songs, nigh to silence. it's similarly emotional
This song is needed on the album holy shit this was impactful
Just when we thought this album couldn’t get any better.
Such an amazing track. Lyrically and musically. My fave on the album, but this album is basically flawless. Would love to see them live again.
The first 3 songs of ERRA I've heard are this, "Snowblood" and "Gungrave". I can't imagine any band striking a chord in me as hard as these songs did. I can't imagine melodic metalcore improving much beyond these songs alone. I haven't even heard an entire album of these guys.
these were my first 3 too. this one got me the most because im a big spiritbox fan and this, to me, gave off the same energy as spiritbox's song "trust fall". but i loved the chorus in snowblood.
lost track of how many times i've listened to this at this point lol
Easily one of my top favourites from this album. Quite possibly my favourite album from erra! 🥰
I'm glad I live in a time to experience all of erra and thier greatness.
This song is phenomenal
Literally brings a tear to my eye at the end. That "we are waking up out of this coma" hits me like it's time for me to wake up and make something of myself. Powerful!
this is probably my favorite...with gungrave, snowblood and shadow autonomous...and every other song lol...11/10 perfect album.
Maybe I'm a pussy, but this album had me tearing up during my run today, went through it twice in a row.
same here
Definitely not my guy. This has some of the most raw emotion mixed with musical genius. To think they were done with this album around the same time last year is incredible.
I had a 6-7 km run Yesterday and listened to "Vanish Canvas" and "Memory Fiction" multiple times.
