  • The Laplace Transform. What is a Laplace Transform and why is it used in Engineering and dynamic systems? In this video I will explain why is is important to apply the Laplace transform to differential equations when modeling dynamic systems. We will work through a simple mechanical system by writing a mathematical model in the form of a differential equation then finding the Laplace transform for that dynamic system.

    Why do X and U at timestamp 4:20 have a parenthesis 's' attached to it? Could you go more into depth on that? Thanks!

      I believe he is referring to the time domain in seconds (s). Like explaining how far it moved in respect to how long it takes to move. I believe. Hope this helps.

    Thank you so much for this explanation! So clear! I had a professor that pulsating explain a thing. Wrote this out in a couple lines and about three minutes later moved on. You explained everything about it. That quiz, I could have made a 100 had i just watched this video. Spent hours trying to understand the why. No textbook to refer to either. The guy had 5 textbooks and made up his own stuff. No consistency.
