I've built about a 1/2 mile of trails at our home. Bought a used John Deere lawn mower/garden tractor and cut a 4ft path through the trees. Cut it every week for a summer and then put down cheap garden cloth to prevent weeds. That took a month, but it wasn't that hard. As we put down the cloth, we put a mixture of gravel and wood chips down on top of it. We also lined each side of the path with smaller trees we had cleared so that the wood chips would not wash away. We used a trailer that hooked to the tractor. It was cheap. The gravel holds down the cloth and the chips give it a soft look and feel. The secret to making it easy is to start at the end of the trail and work back towards the house. That way the tractor didn't destroy the cloth. That was 15 years ago and every year we refresh the wood chips. The tractor and trailer were just fine going over the trail in year two and beyond. We can buy a dump truck full of wood chips for around $250 and every year we do the trail refresh in late March. Over time, we added some benches along the trail and some bird houses. It's our escape path when we just need to chill. You guys got this...enjoy! P.S. The reason for the cloth was to stop weeds. My wife is a landscape designer and insisted on it. She was right. 15 years now and hardly any weeds.

You’re in Michigan!! There is so much content to bring to the channel. Keep building out your property, do 2-3 day trips with your camper to all of the beautiful towns and lakes in Michigan, film the 12-20” snow storms at your cabin, get a snowmobile, cross country ski, your channel will continue to grow as you pull in all of the people who absolutely love Michigan. Rv trips can still be a part of the formula.

My wife and I had 40 acres, in Gladwin Mi, of trails we had to tame and maintain. I wouldn't put the chips down, it's way too much work without a tractor with a loader, even then it's not easy to spread and maintain. I realize your on a budget but rent or buy a small tractor with a brushhog, keep it mowed and keep running it over. Trust me, it's MUCH easier. Weeds and trees will grow through the chips as well, you will be fighting them constantly. If you go to brushhog or mow them the wood chips will fly everywhere.

Connor, now that you have a trailer, rent a Bobcat. It'll serve every purpose for making your walking path, scrape the earth for your path, pickup/dropoff/level out the woodchips and pretty much anything else. If you have woodchips left you should put them around those trees in the orchard. Also, if you plan to have a garden in the future leave some honeysuckle alive. You'll be needing pollinators for it.
Amelia, you haven't experienced a brutal Michigan Winter yet, if you have extra produce from the orchard, can them. You'll be glad to have Mason jars full of fruit when there's 3 feet of snow on the ground.
To both of you...I envy you your journey. We've had 47 years so far and doing all you're doing together is worth more than all the money in the US Treasury. Enjoy it.

Awesome you found a nice indoor location for the truck camper. Couple of things…if it’s gonna be sitting there awhile between trips, set it down on your saw horses/plywood to keep the strain off the jacks and just because it is stored inside, don’t forget to keep up on your maintenance of your seals.

How many acres do you have? You definitely want to clear off as much of the growth where you are planning your trail before laying down the chips. Try to have your path wander through or near some of your favorite areas in your woods. Than you can creat little “destinations” on your property.

AHoneysuckle is so named because if you pull the blossom off and put the part that was fastened to the plant into your mouth and gently suck, it really does taste like honey. Not only that, it's good for you and is a great source of Vitamin C. Back in my younger years, I used to go on survival trips, heading into the forest with just a knife and spending a week living off the land. Honeysuckle tea was a crucial part of my survival strategy - I would steep some flowers in a cup for about 8 minutes and then drink it.

Bartering storage space for property maintenance is a good deal. Your camper will deteriorate rapidly just sitting out in the woods and it consumes time to maintain your camper, evicting critters and cleaning, etc.... I live in the woods. Critters and pollens and leaves and moisture and high humidity are much different living in the woods than in a subdivision.
It's a different genre from full time camper life to owning property and property maintenance. Between the two you may set the algorithm to both, doubling your viewers likes and subs. I'd keep it going. See where it goes.

Listen, forget the wood chip trail. It’s going to get overrun with grasses and weeds in very short order. Then it will be a pain in the ass to maintain. You need a smarter, less maintenance-heavy plan. Seriously. What you want and need is the natural landscape, maintained and kept short/trim with minimal effort.
Also, start researching a rotary cutter, a.k.a. a brush hog or bush hog. It will make *very* short work of all the overgrowth, and give you a lot of control over the property without having to constantly pull vines or maintain wood chips. That’s the way to go, simply use a rotary cutter to maintain paths and keep bushes, shrubs, and weeds in check. Don’t make more projects for yourself.
Also, you can even rent a push model for a day or three. Or buy a used one in good condition, a push model like a lawnmower, only bigger. Home Depot may rent them near you. Save a lot of time, effort, money too. Look up CZcams reviews of self-propelled brush mowers, for example.

Everyone who thinks or feels God doesn't care, is indifferent and or mean etc ….
Why is the world as it is, evil everywhere…
where is God and His faithfulness…
God does judge sin which is evil and if people don't stop sinning they will die for that disobedience, that sin. When God said if you take from that tree you will die He was saying if you disobey, you sin, I will punish that sin because God does punish it, sickness, demons and death. And if you keep sinning I will punish you to the point of death, is that punishment. Sickness is a consequence of sin and it is a judgement God makes upon the people for their sin. All sickness takes its toll on the body and will result in death unless you stop sinning and that brings a reward from God for the righteous decision to stop sinning that brought that illness. Throughout scripture God tells us these things. God does love and there is mercy in His punishment too. He chastises those He loves. His wrath doesn't mean He doesn't love, it doesn't mean there is no mercy, it means He puts His law first and He obeys it first. He punished sin and then punishes sin and so forth and if someone doesn't stop sinning or sins more then that judgment is death just as He said, sin is death. Scripture says we are all responsible for working out our salvation with fear and trembling. Seek scripture, learn who He is and what He said to obey and do it. if you obey Him you live in blessings just like Deuteronomy 28 says and it also says disobedience is curses, that's sickness, demons possibly and again to continue in sin results in death.
God told all the details, and paid for us to get out of sin and how we should live and when people don't live righteous then the world looks like it did in the days of Noah, violence, drunkenness and such lovers of self, pleasure and all sin and life apart from God, life in disobedience to God. Why should He bless sin? He punishes it then punishes sin more if someone keeps sinning. Is it tough people die from that choice they make, their sin and lack of seeking God to obey what He said, yes it hurts. How do you think God feels, He loved the world so much He gave His only begotten son and Yeshua died in agony for us to be out of that sin, taking God's wrath upon Himself so how do I think He feels, grieved so grieved but I know from scripture He always obeys what His word says, He never changes and that includes every word He said. Now Yeshua took God's wrath upon Himself for our sin Isaiah 53. We get peace with God and can come before Him to be heard and we get to be cleansed from our iniquities, sin. Just like the lamb sacrifices in the old testament Jesus was that for us a peace offering and forgiveness offering. We get freedom from that sinful past, from that sin and we get our healings because His stripes healed us from the consequences of sin.
He gave us a way out. A way to start again out of that wrath. How loving is that God gave us His son who took God's wrath for us out of love. How loving just how loving is our God who made a way for us to be out of that wrath? Wrath we deserved by our sin and continued sin. But God so loved the world He gave us Yeshua. Yeshua gave His life to rise to life for us to give us new life. A new creation to begin again a new life, having been born again. Having received forgiveness for sin and a pardon from God's wrath, that very wrath you talk about. But God gave us a way out of His wrath when Yeshua our lamb paid for our sin. Again how loving is that our way out of God's wrath. Our new life. Our second chance to live rightly before our Holy righteous God our being born again to live right because God planned for us to not all receive His wrath yet His son for everyone, one for everyone and a way out, pardoned and free to live life righteous whole healed delivered, how loving oh so very loving that is. All that is in scripture too. Seek and find, learn who He is and obey and see more of it. Mark 4:24 the more you obey God the more He reveals to you, it means that. Matthew 6:33 live it daily and understand who He is and just how loving He always is and honestly how loved you are will be seen felt and KNOWN too. 💕 May you come to understand Him all your days seeking and finding and growing in the knowledge of God in Yeshua's name
