Careful with large wood chip piles: they can get super heated in the center and combust. You'll want to get that spread out soon.
Using a pitch fork for mulch will make your life easier.
We'll have to pick one up!
Here's a great tip for moving a lot of mulch around. Use a tarp and spread it out next to the pile of woodchips. Then, shovel or rake a bunch onto the tarp. Then lift up the two corners farthest away from the pile and drag it to where you need the chips. Really fast and easy.
Enjoying the process of making the place a home. Barkley is a natural supervisor.
He sure is a great supervisor!
I need to buy and ship to you a wheel barrow with two wheels up front. So, so, much easier to fill and haul around. Then again, you are both young and strong. Love your progress.
Everything is looking really nice. Lots of hard work, but know you will be happy with each improvement.
Happy late birthday Amelia! 🎂27 is so young! You two are doing such a fantastic job on your property. Connor is looking like a real pro with the chainsaw! Love your videos you two.
You THREE. Can't forget Barkley!
Kind of agree with previous comments about termites and carpenter ants. We live in a cold climate as well and usually put stone within the first few feet of foundation.
They have cement blocks around the bottom.
Connor your chainsaw skills are pretty good. I like your thinking on starting small and working up to bigger trees.
Great to see you both working together. Your place will get better and better. Dreams are some of the most important in life.
Couldn't agree more!
Guys, I liked watching for your adventures. Not household chores. I wish you the best of luck with the cabin. Thanks for the hours of entertainment. It was fun.
We'll be back in the camper for the next video!
@@LivingLargeCamping Now that, I’m excited to check out! Thanks for the update.
That casserole looked amazing! I'm gonna have to try it.
Good job folks on your yard!! 🫂🫂🫂
Thank you!
Happy Birthday!
Thank you!
Looking forward to meeting you!! Looks great 👍
The weeds will grow back, we put down landscape fabric then the mulch or rocks is what we do
teamwork makes the dream work, its great to watch a couple work together to build their life and beautify their surroundings.
Thank you!
Oooo. Happy Birthday! If you're getting sass at 27, wait till you turn 40 (the magical sass age) or even 70, as I will turn in two months. You are both doing so well. The property is looking so nice, and you'll only make it better and better.
Thank you! And that's a scary thought on the sass range.. haha!
Your property looks great! You guys are crushing it.
Thank you!
Ah..I was hoping to be the first to comment !! But, anyways , your videos are awesome. Keep the coming and we will watch !!
Thank you!
Connor - you are a real Paul Bunyan!
Thank you, Lisa!
Time ⏲️ to start your very own tree trimming business. Connor looks like a pro tree trimmer. Great teamwork 👏 👍. Dinner 🍽 looked so delicious 😋. Love to see more cooking videos 📹.
Thank you!
It will never get boring. I love the process. Thank you both!
We're glad you enjoy the new content!
You both are doing a great job working together to personalize your space and making it your own.
Love seeing you enjoy a bigger kitchen and then the meal that you made. So happy for you guys!
Thank you! The full size kitchen sure is nice!
It's funny how Amelia's vocal fry comes and goes. 😅🙄 The property is coming along nicely. Mow the grass.
Your dedication to maintaining and beautifying your woodland retreat is truly admirable! Through the challenges and joys of spring cleanup, you embody the spirit of hard work and stewardship. Your commitment to your cabin in the woods reflects a deep appreciation for nature's gifts.
And I Am Floating Village Life
Thanks for the support!
Dinner looks delicious. Place looks nicer every day.
Thank you!
That's exactly how I make enchiladas. Everything is looking good!
The best way!
I'm with Barkley. I'll take a nap over yard work😅😊❤❤

Excellent opening drone footage, such a beautiful area you chosen to call home!
Landscape projects are progressing along nicely as well as the tree felling work Conner is doing. He just needs to learn to yell timber and he’ll be a pro! 😁
As always, stay safe out there…..
What a lovely song, Mike! Thanks for the birthday wishes, you sure do know how to make us laugh! Have a great weekend
Looks great. Now a nice herd of elk that makes a path through your area to view in the mornings and evening while sitting in the hot tub. Enjoy!
That sure would be gorgeous!
Connor, when cutting a tree down, always have an exit strategy in case the tree kicks back towards you. And after you cut or push the tree get father back away from it!! You could also put mulch around the trees you'll be mowing around, just don't put the mulch all the way to the trunk, leave at least 6 inches from trunk to the start of the mulch. Edited to add...to help the stumps rot quick, cut away some of the inside of the stumps with power saw and plant annuals in it, the roots will work thru stump and the soil you add will keep moisture in to help it rot. ❤️💞❤️
Thanks for the tips, and the stump rotting is a good idea!
Beautiful aerial shots in the beginning! Barkley is loving the new place.
Thank you! And he sure is
Happy birthday Amelia 🎉🎊🎂🪓🪵🔥
Thank you!
No better way to spend a sunny day!! Mulcharama!! You guys have a very nice property!! Going to be fun to watch the progress!! Have a great day!!
Couldn't agree more, and thanks for watching!
I love your cabin and love seeing what you guys are doing with it. I am a Michigander but now live in Ohio with near my kids. I do miss the beauty of Michigan.
Sure is a beautiful state!
Looks fantastic, what a go on the tree cutting your a natural!!!!
Thank you! Definitely a learning process!
Happy Birthday !! Barkley looks like he's enjoying life in the yard ,he's so cute . Connor I see a tractor with a cart and plow in your future lol. The place is looking great!
A tractor sure would be handy!
Thanks said the Terramites!
Conner is doing great! He's a smart guy!
Thank you!
Sorry about asking about your camper location as I saw the video end story line. Great storage spot.
I see a compact utility tractor with front loader in your very near future. It will be the most useful machinery you can own for building and maintaining what you have in mind.
It sure would be handy!
Place looks fabulous 👌 👏 Fun to watch you two make a home together ❤️
Thank you, Christine!
Happy birthday 🎈🎂🎈❤ Amelia 😊. Everything is looking great 👍
Thank you!
Happy Birthday Amelia 🎂🎂🎂🎊🎊🎊🎉🎉🎉
Thank you!
We make Enchilada Casserole that is a lot like what you made.
We like to make it while camping, using a Dutch Oven.
Watching you as you improve your property has been fun.'
Please continue to report to us on your progress.
Thank you for the support!
Connor awesome job!! Think how much you are learning. Acually learning for the future. Hi Barkley
Thank you, Tina!
I would lay a tarp in the bed of your pickup. Then, you can pull on the tarp to unload. Have you guys tried the Chirp Wheel or something like it for your back ?
We use a back roller pretty frequently, it sure helps!
Things are looking great! 👍
Thank you, Dale!
Really nice, guys!
Hi guys, place looks great! Be careful with termites…here in Delaware termites love wood mulch which then they get into your house. Make sure you spray for termites.
We've already sprayed for them and will continue to do so!
Great aerial shots again!! So beautiful! Glad to see that sweet Barkley. I’ve been wondering what he thinks of his new home. We love Mexican Lasagna in our house too.😊
He sure is loving it, and always a great meal!
My first thought was the termites too. I enquired once about having a tree service dump wood chips on our property when working in our area and most said they wouldn't if not within 10 feet of the house for that reason (but will if not as doing so saves them a trip to the landfill locations). I guess the stuff in the bags or what you get from landscape companies has been treated so it isn't an issue. We have cold winters here too and makes no difference. We were advised to move our wood storage away from the side of the house also. There may be a spray or something you can spray around your house to prevent that or hire a pest control company to do? I have no clue.
It is looking awesome and so happy for you two. Dinner looked yummy too!!
We'll be spraying for termites pretty frequently, but thank you for the concern! We appreciate the support!
I haven’t watched all video yet I would put new dirt in gardens then put mulch down
Yall are both doing a good job and Happy belated Birthday!!! The place looks amazing ❤❤❤😊😊
Thank you!!
Giiirl looks great! You should get a garden guru dandelion puller! Get those roots out!
That sure would be handy!
Looking nice!
Thank you!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you!
Happy birthday
Thank you!
Be careful of termites with the mulch next to the house
Lunch is served for the termites
We've sprayed already and will continue to do so!
June in Northern Michigan can be insect hell. So far this year, not so bad.
It's good to see you taking on challenges and building skills.
I always used to say, why buy a gym membership.. just buy some land that needs work
I know that you two have spent a boatload of money recently, but now that you've entered the DIY phase, you're going to need a utility vehicle.
Were I a betting man, I would bet that you are well aware, but think about some sort of trailer option with it.
Don't forget to stop once in a while to relax and smell the sweet fern.
We've definitely been looking at some sort of equipment to use around the property, just trying to figure out what makes the most sense. Thanks for all the support, Reuben!
Wood chips around the building are a fire hazard. Keep well away from the house.
The stumps closest to the house I’d get removed. Maybe a wishing well in front? Going to make a driveway with stone? Hot tubs were great on a cold winter night in NY. Not an issue in Florida. Good job. You ever going to have merchandise to purchase?
We'd like to have some merchandise in the near future! Any suggestions on what we should offer?
@@LivingLargeCamping shirts, caps, sweatshirts, hoodies, and decals with one of Barkley.
How far is that water from your house that i seen in the beginning of your viedo, looks like a nice piece of water
We're about 20 minutes from the nearest water access!
Is there a market for tons of wood chips?
Not that I'm aware of, we'll put them to use!
You need a snow shovel for the bark. :)
a pitch fork works bettter believe it or not. makes it super easy
And we use 2 wheelbarrows, 1 person fills the other person dumps.
I'll have to try the pitch fork!
Don't invite termites to your home by putting more wood around your home
Where is the Lance truck camper?
We have it stored, but taking it out this weekend!
Lake Michigan or Lake Superior?
What’s the tick situation like
There are ticks in the area, haven't found too many on our property but always checking!
what do you plan on doing with all that woodchips
We're hoping to build a walking trail through the woods
Termites are not common in northern Michigan. The further north you are the less the problem.
We'll still spray for them just in case!
Look at that view 0:30 of flat earth.
Don't forget to wear eye protection. The brush is very dangerous as well. BAD EXPERIENCED!!
Aren’t you afraid of termites and carpenter ants with all that wood spread around the house?
Happy Birthday!
Thank you!
