I don't usually make these kind of comments but in response to your remark "this is the worst day I've had in a long time". I would give my left nut to be where you guys are doing what you are doing instead of sitting in this old folks home waitin to die. Count your lucky stars Wayne. You are a truly Blessed man.
Man Ray that comment sure hits home on perspective. I really appreciate you taking a moment to share that because I am indeed truly blessed and honestly very grateful for it even though it don't seem it sometimes. I sure wish I had something more uplifting to say to ya bud but no matter if you have 1 day left or 10,000 I sure appreciate every minute of your time you spend here with me watching the channel. Dude you got a v8 cat! Those are way cool. I know I know it's not a detroit , but it's still cool! Thanks for the laughs and your hard work!
Hell yea! I thought it'd be fun to try something new!
My best friend had a 3408 in a W-900L, beast of a truck! Back in the early 80's I worked for a Co. out of Phoenix, and while my truck was getting a rearend replaced, they ask me to take this old cabover Pete to LA and back to test out a 430 Detroit they had been hopping up, and had installed a electric fuel pump to help the manual pump, and they had so much fuel turned to it that it would run out of fuel about half way up a mountain pass! Told me to flip on this toggle switch when going up the mountain, and see if it helped? Dang, that old Detroit came to life, and pulled that load of produce up that mountain like it was not there! Needless to say, I left the switch flipped on a lot of that trip, turned that old Pete into a hotrod! It got about 3 MPG with the switch flipped on, and around 5 MPG with it off!
Oh wow Stanley I've never heard of that trick but I'd sure love to see how they did it on that truck! Badass 🤟
@John nice man! I've still got to turn this one up yet
All things considered, this was a helluva road trip for Mossy and I'm glad ya'll made it there and back in one piece (and Kudos to James for saving you from the heat!). Beyond grateful that James went with you, would have been a complete sh*t show if you brought me ;) Super proud of what you've accomplished with Mossy over the past few years, she's come a long way thanks to your hard work and dedication!

Listening to that ol' 2 stroker hummin' through my Bose headphones was freakin awesome. I learned how to drive with a silver 92 and a 13 speed back in '85. Great memories.
That's badass James!!! Glad you enjoyed it 🤟
My dad & his buddy were driving for an implement dealer in the 70s during the times when the teamsters were wreaking havoc on non-member trucks. They were in an IHC 4070 with extended bunk & would take turns between the driver's seat & the bunk, both with sawed off 12 gauges & the load lights on & the engine on fast idle all night so they could see what was going on & be able to make a quick dash. It must have been hell trying to sleep over top of the running 8V71 at 1500rpm. I used to sit in the truck while he was pulling it into the shop when he would get home & toot the air horn coming through the door.
Times were wild back in the 70s it's wild what the teamsters got away with

Slowly phased them out in favor of 3406B's and 3406E's. The KTA's are mostly gone too.
But boy what an experience to drive em though!

Hey Wayne. I told my buddy Randy about you on the way to Macungie and how you were a Detroit 2 cycle man. We found you and asked you when they started putting Jake brakes in Detriots. Steve googled it for us. Thanks for talking to us, we appreciate it. I should've checked out the Pete on the trailer. I didn't know it was a future project. I thought you were hauling it for someone especially since it was a Cat and not 2 cycle. I drove a 318 International back in the 70's. Enjoyed it, but I was still young then. Randy has started watching you since then on U Tube. Well, alright, you may thank me with a beer if we ever meet again, for sending a viewer to you. Pleasure talkin' to you.
Hey man it was great seeing you at the show I remember our conversation. I'll for sure but you a beer so long as I can buy one for me too! Lol
Dude that’s a sound you don’t hear at truck stops anymore. And that 3408 sounds like a ball peen hammer in a coffee can but they will pull. Reminds me of my first trip with Dad in an R model Mack. Ol CB was just a steady stream of fellers jaw jackin away. Thanks for the great content Wayne!
Thanks Cole for tuning in.
