New trucks I find don't grind well on concrete etc. the shape of the hanger means they dip into every little dip in the surface. Once you've got some wear in your hangers they are flattened out from the lost metal. They go easier over the texture of a curb or ledge. That's been my experience.
I love a good interaction.
I have the slappy's on my slappy board and now on my 8.5 twin tail. 2 pairs in.
I did not buy the inverted kingpins.
Only thing I have noticed about them is that I need to skate faster in nose slides. At least when they are new. The metal feels a bit softer and felt like it grabbed the ledge a little. I am hoping they break in a little. All that being said, it is forcing me to skate faster and I need that.
I do like the weight.
I did just pick up some ACE 60s. I honestly didn't know they had 60. I thought it was just 44, 55, 66, ,77 and so on. But 60 is made for the 8.5. I love ACE but you need to give the bushing a good amount of time without tightening them. They break in great but take time.
Ok that's a lot of interaction.
Stay Rad Sir.
I think its time for a Indy 169 vs Thunder 161 part 2 video 🤙 I know you love those trucks. (As do I)
I do love those trucks
I had the same thing with the top bushing. They told me the washer that came with the first sets of lights was too small for the bushings.
Yeah I smash the bushings bad and I skate them as loose as possible.
I used to skate Orion and Destructo and Ventures. I got my first pair of Indies about 8 years ago...i was very glad, but actually upset that I wasted my time with the other ones.... I really love my 8.25 Indies. I've never tried Thunders or Slappy. Based off your reviews, I would try Slappy before Thunders.👍🔥 "I just like the way it feels."
If you like Indys you’ll probably like Slappys. I’ve got both Indys and Slappys in hollow, and honestly have been riding Slappys more.
just did a one year review on the standard inverted hollows, appreciate the input and review my man 💯 Id recommend checking out Death Savers to add on so you don't get wheelbite whatsoever, love mine 🔥
that top bushing really is an issue. i went through 6 pairs of slappys already and at least 12 diff top bushings. lately i do a bones hard top bushing on the slappys, but its slightly taller than the stock one so the truck getting loose is a big problem
i prefer standard weight trucks, indy and venture. i don't have any wider than 8.5", if i did get bigger trucks i might want hollows
You said they bring the trucks in a little closer, what wheelbase do you skate?
I have a 15 inch and a 14 inch wheelbase deck set up so basically anything.
I notice that the indy mid inverted kingpins loosen up over time too i literally skated a set until they wouldn't stay tighter longer than 10 mins than i sent them into NHS and they gave me another baseplate with loctite on them lmao think I'm try a normal set of indys next when i finally get some 8.25 trucks been rocking the 8s on 8.25 cause I'm poor 🤣
Yeah but not as fast as these do. The inverted Indy’s are the best inverted design.
damn, Al rips!
Thanks
Oh. Someone else skates element. Cool
They were on sale for 19.99
@MichaelRelevant I hope they go back on sale. I just stick to the brands I used to know when I was young and into skating. I'd have to measure the boards before I switch brands to make sure they have the same feel and wheelbase...
