  • Hi and welcome to WTF RC Cars,
    I though i'd make a quick video to show some on the best solutions I have come up with for the lighting on the TRX 4,
    The light switch module is a SY RC one in the link below, £6.88 + £2.65 P&P
    There are 3 types available
    1, Steering servo driven ( uses input from steering )
    2, Shift servo driven ( uses input from shift switch )
    3, Spare channel drive ( the one I run in the vid )

    The magnetic mount kit is £16.99

    Hey there. I was trying to solve one problem and ended up solving three. Really clever thing with the magnets and lights.
    Have you had any problems with the body coming loose when hitting a bump?
    Thanks for sharing.

      Hi, I don't have any issues with the body coming off in use unless the trx falls down a large drop, I do like the way if it takes a big hit and does knock the body off it doesn't seem to damage the body think it's because it lets the body move free :)

    hi
    is it any option to conect the trx light without using the trx module?

    • @WTFRCCars
      @WTFRCCars  Před 3 lety +1

      I wouldn't advise it as the trx lights are only 3.3v that's what the module does it takes 2s or 3s and drops it to the 3.3v for the lights it's also very stable even as the battery level drops it holds its output voltage.

      @@WTFRCCars thnks a lot for the advice. so the trx light is up to 3.3v. maybe an aftermarket light kit(the kits that have brakes, reverse and turn signals ) those one i thing have 3v output maybe will be ok to conect them on this type of module

      Check out sy-rc they do the switch I use to control the trx4 lights but they also do full custom light kits for the traxxas and other rc's with some crazy options like making the led indicator light react like old bulbs :)

    Hi.. with similar setup, if i increase bec to 7.4v, would the red cable from step down transformer to the receiver can stand the voltage given?

    • @WTFRCCars
      @WTFRCCars  Před 3 lety +1

      The stock servos can't run 7.4v not sure on the red lead to the step down as instructions surgest it's a 5v + switch I'll have to look into it :)

    • @abdulhafidzmohdyusuf3582
      @abdulhafidzmohdyusuf3582 Před 3 lety +1

      Sorry forgot to mention, i also use aftermarket servo capable of high voltage (up to 7.4V), hence those question..

    • @WTFRCCars
      @WTFRCCars  Před 3 lety +1

      Can't find anything official from traxxas for the spec of it but it's only 1 wire so you could use a resistor to drop 7.4v down to 5v

      Another option is to run a very cheap bec as the light voltage dropper is extremely low power draw so even the smallest bec would work fine for it :)
