The interviewer asked ARG what does he want for the rest of his life & ARG replied; in his heart he wants: happiness, serenity, peace of mind, want to keep growing & give...give a lot. He had a positive outlook for his future but his heart just gave out. So very sad...this interview was 2 years before his untimely death. The years of drug abuse took a terrible toll on his heart. I just wish he didn't do that to himself and stopped before he did any damage to his heart. His failed relationships didn't help his heart either. Well, I hope he found peace finally. He was very innocent and childlike even as a 29/30 year old man. I wonder if had he lived another 10 years would Andy have matured, or would he still be a Peter Pan forever stuck in childhood? Either way he’s very missed still.

Sad Andy never had the true love of a woman who just desired him and not all whoreywood types who just wanted to be seen with him to rag tail on his hem and get their hands on all that Bee Gee money. Alcoholics and drug users don't realise they are destroying themselves. That's the pity of it. They are too in the moment. Andy just wanted to not feel pain. It's debateable when he quit drugs but the damage had been done. He was a beautiful soul and he left us his legacy of music. Gone far too young, and missed. Loved forever ❤❤

Sad how Andy's career was so damaged by loss of love and drugs. He was talented and connected well with the audience. I have seen so many interviews with Andy lately, and it astounds me the numbers of people leaving comments who don't accept Andy is responsible for his own actions. While I agree his relationship with Victoria Principal was partly to blame for his downfall, I also accept that early on, Andy was Married. Kim falling pregnant left her with the hardest decision to make, and I understand and respect her for doing what she thought was best for her and her unborn child. Andy could have stepped up anytime, emotionally and financially, but the truth was he was surrounded by the wrong people. Andy chose fame, and no matter how many say Kim kept him from his daughter, well, she didn't. His lifestyle didn't include Kim or Peta, and while he had several high profile women in his life, none treated Andy as a life partner. Who knows what may have been had Andy kept himself on the straight. He seemed to need a woman's love, it is sad his own wife wasn't given the opportunity to give him that.....

he finally got clean in 86..the year of this interview I heard a good source say....his answers of the last question..very deep.
He actually got clean in '85. Spent 9 months in Detox and Rehab.

Andy was a gift of Love! This was 1986 & he already had been diagnosed (*confidential) with his heart condition & was on medication which is what caused the edema(swelling) in his body. There is much speculation & erroneous statements being thrown around still to this day about Andy's life, so let me clear up some things. This video & interview is a prime example of Andy being healthy, in control, & on the right track. The thing I want to stress is that Andy wasn't always high up on drugs or influences; He just wasn't! Where there bad days? Absolutely; Did he have struggles? No doubt; but he wasn't always in some stimulant stupor. I spent an enormous amount of time with the man & I can attest to these truths: People never understand the external & internal chaos he suffered trying to survive the limelight & the devastation of losing control of a normal lifestyle. He was forced to quit school without friends & the benefit of socialization; thrown into the music scene, quickly hitting notoriety, & by 19 left to fend for himself without a playbook to handle all the craziness. During this time was also the introduction into stimulants; & do you know who was by his side when all this crap was being handed to him; Mum & Dad! So don't think that this all occurred without the knowledge of the parents & fam. But they were too busy smoking & liquored up "living the life" thru their Sons, with dollar signs in their eyes, to notice the challenges being placed upon their Little Boy Blue! Most only saw the aftereffects of Andy's condition, not the causes & the highs & lows of dealing with it. He suffered long & hard with depression since childhood (starting at about age 8) with no treatment! He was always misunderstood & it made him feel alone, like an outsider, even with family. Sometimes things are too deep; hurts, scars, trauma, to even talk about. Andy did what he thought best to do for the moment to continue on. I was & still am amazed we had him as long as we did with everything he encountered; he showed me his vulnerability & his strength to survive. I wished I had been older when I met him earlier on, before he was introduced to things he never should have trusted & engaged in. I was 12, he was 21 & he was already fully enwrapped with that showbiz lifestyle when I met him, & I hated all of it. Andy, to this day had the stigma of living under the brunt of the media rags comparison to his brothers & others' outlandish comments in regards to the downfall of his personal issues; as if he was the only one to have suffering & pain on earth. I strongly wished the brothers would have guided Andy earlier on in his career regarding those same pitfalls, instead of sending him out there to the wolves, blaming him later on, for failure over things that each brother had already dealt with themselves. It broke my heart to see Andy in conditions he never should have been led into. He wasn't a screw up, or a lost cause, or lost talent; nor was he without self love, or lacking any confidence; he was human, in the light of always having to be compared to his famous Brothers, & never really was taken seriously as a solo performing Artist by his peers & the rag of the news media outlets. To this day, there is still that "Brother" comparison making it harsh to separate him as an individual. So I say it again: It wasn't that Andy didn't have confidence in himself; he did!!!. He just didn't know how to handle & maneuver his way in & out of this crazy show business world. I dare anyone to say they could have handled it any better at such a young age, as my Darling Andy. Sadly, people today still will equate the depression to lack of confidence. This is why Andy hid so much from his family as a coping mechanism. I still hope one day he is remembered for his passionate musicality & creative talent, & not his barriers in life; although maybe it will cause someone to seek help before things are spiraling out of control & perhaps into an addiction or dependency of some sort, because we all have them. Another thing worth mentioning here is his time with Victoria Principle(VP); media rags have promoted the notion that Andy's death was a suicide based on the breakup with VP; Again UNTRUE. The timeline doesn't even account for the sensibility of it being factual; Andy past away in 1988; their breakup occurred in 1982; so the public is to believe for 6 years he was in distress of her; wouldn't the apparent suicide have played out before 1988, like in 1982, or 83; Again all erroneous assumptions with 100% no backing to sustain against the truth! Please don't think for one millisecond that there was any sincerity on her (VP's) part. She tolerated Andy, at best, & this entire false statement that she tried to help him & gave him an ultimatum is hogwash! She was the one in her own additions & dependencies that brought back stimulants into Andy's environment. From the day she introduced herself to him on NATIONAL TELEVISION she entangled him into a dreadful web of many sorts & she was going to railroad & use Andy's personal life for her gain. It wasn't until someone within Andy's circle went behind his back & showed VP proof of her own disgusting behavior, that she silently bailed out, crushing Andy's fantasy of a life happily ever after. Her gain was to see him destroyed because then she could control certain aspects of her career if he was severely under an influence. Her objective was to use his name to get her to Broadway. Remember when Andy met her he was already infatuated & smitten with her, & she knew & worked it until her claws were deeply embedded into his soul. Ruthless. Not that Andy didn't have responsibility over his actions, he did, but much of Andy's appeal & downfall was that he was too trusting, & if he cared about you, it was for life, no matter what happened. He just couldn't turn off his affection for you. Andy always had this child like wonder about life & made you believe all things were possible to obtain. He was the most affectionate, kind hearted, thoughtful, respectful man I have ever known, & not a day passes where I am not missing his gentleness towards me & how he loved me. This is what caused other females to be attracted & take advantage of him. Gratefully VP scattered off into the arms of her surgeon, not before leaving Andy financially burdened, heartbroken, & yearning for more of their party lifestyle they had cohabitated in. So NO VP was not the positive influence she wanted people to believe. Andy believed it because fantasy is always better than reality. He realized too late how viscous people can be in using a name for advancement, & it hurt him deeply; it was like this with other females he encountered. They were there only for public view. So once again Andy fought for recovery & for the first time with my prodding he entered into therapy & counseling for the depression. The only good I know to have come from Andy not being here, is that it forced the boys (the Brothers) to dig deeper in, take stock within themselves, & find Truth in Spirituality. They've always believed in God but it became moreso after Andy, & they fully believed Andy is there with Jesus; free from the sufferings & anguish of this world. It deepened their Faith. I hope this inspires people to learn more of the music of Andy Gibb! My Darling Andy was a talent. My Darling Andy was a Love. He was the most genuine, honest, caring human being I have ever encountered & no-one can hold a candle to his everlasting love & flame he left burning within my heart, & the many he knew.

I have seen so many interviews with Andy lately, and it astounds me the numbers of people leaving comments who don't accept Andy is responsible for his own actions. While I agree his relationship with Victoria Principal was partly to blame for his downfall, I also accept that early on, Andy was Married. Kim falling pregnant left her with the hardest decision to make, and I understand and respect her for doing what she thought was best for her and her unborn child.
Andy could have stepped up anytime, emotionally and financially, but the truth was he was surrounded by the wrong people. Andy chose fame, and no matter how many say Kim kept him from his daughter, well, she didn't. His lifestyle didn't include Kim or Peta, and while he had several high profile women in his life, none treated Andy as a life partner. Who knows what may have been had Andy kept himself on the straight. He seemed to need a woman's love, it is sad his own wife wasn't given the opportunity to give him that.....
