Unrelated to this video, I'm just posting the question here because it is the latest vid. From watching several of Daniel's vid's I think I have a tentative grasp of a general workflow. I'm new to FCP, so I appreciate any feedback. Thanks. 1. lay down your clips in the order you initially think they will appear in the video. 2. make general cuts to the clips to identify the portions your intend to use. Somewhere around 1 or 2 perform color correction and grading or decide which lut to apply to your clips 3. Decide which music you will use because this will dictate the timing of the video and cuts. 4. Begin ramping, speed adjustments, and cuts to fit the timing of the music 5. Work on additional effects to smooth out transitions or add motion tracking or whatever specialized effects a clip needs to enhance the quality of the vid. Am I in the ball park? Any additional info is appreciated.
Another tip is to add labels to your clips, so if you have multiple clips for the same subject like in this project, you can add colors to have a better organized time line and library.
I don't know how I missed this challenge! The winners are way out of my league, but I would have liked the opportunity to use your footage. It appears that Storyblocks has ended the link to the challenge. Is there any way to post them again so we could try to duplicate what the winners have done? LOVE your videos. I have learned a lot. Very inspiring!
Finally done with my attempt! I decided last minute that I want to record all the sound effects myself 😅 but I am happy with my submission. Especially considering my lack of experience.
Just submitted. The footage from Google drive is a little compressed which made it artifact easily and limited my color abilities :/ but there are some great submissions so far!
is it okay to use some other alternative footage for editing or must only use the footage provided for this challenge? the competition rule only mentions that competitors don't have to use every single footage which is provided and not saying anything about allowing alternative footage or not for editing. Hope to get a reply from Daniel or any organizer of this challenge thank you!😅
When it comes to music, how does it work if I have a creators account at epidemic sound? Can I clear it or something, or can I not use it since it will go off my channel?

You're good, I honestly try to find the music before I start editing, that way I can have a clear view of what I want as a final result.
