THANK YOU!!!!!
I'd like to start by saying I love that you guys are doing this. This is a great idea. I wish the big studios would release all the raw footage and audio from old projects (no longer under copyright) to the public for people to edit. That would be amazing!
I'd like to make a small suggestion.
For future projects, it would be nice if the various setups were in separate files to help with scrubbing through the footage in the trimmer. For this project for example we'd have:
- Wide with pan.
- Medium Female Closeup / Over male lead shoulder shots.
- Medium Male Closeup / Over female lead shoulder shots.
- Closeup Female
- Closeup male
-Inserts
... as separate files. Just a suggestion.
Or maybe have a few frames with an easy to spot pattern to separate the various sections. Maybe SMPTE color bars? I know they are trademarked, just a suggestion.
This is what I do for clients when I am hired to "only shoot" and not "shoot and edit". In between the various cameras (I often shoot with two active cameras and they are normally on sticks) and setups I put a short title card (a couple of seconds) to ID the clips. The company I do freelance work for normally wants the full recorded footage in one file with basic edit audio (I record external audio) synched when they don't also hire me to edit.
THANKS ERIC!
We got numerous complaints that we put out our raw footage as separate shot types, so we started putting all the raw footage as a single file. That seems to be what most people wanted.
@@CineStudy Cool. also makes it easier for you guys to share the full files on Vimeo and CZcams I guess. :)
Keep up the good work.
@@EricLefebvrePhotography They are also on Google drive.....
hi ,first thanks a ton for this, I have completed your challenges could you pls provide us some more foootages
I'll give this a go! I've done two of the other projects but haven't really dabbled in special effects so this will be a good chance for my to learn.
