You made moving that cabinet away from the wall for prep look super easy. I find them too heavy to shuffle away from the wall. I will need to call a handyman to do this task for me. Thanks for the tips!

Just installed the 14 piece kit, plus additional 42 inch cabinets with 72 inch adjustable shelf unit. The 2x4 suggestion was very helpful. I have base boards and extra shoe molding all the way around my garage.

It's a good idea to use pressure-treated lumber whenever you go up against concrete, or maybe some of that new resin plastic they use on decking.
This blocking was screwed to the dry wall. Only the metal cabinet was up against the concrete.

Great video. You could also put outside trip boards around the perimeter to hide the 2x4s on the backside.

Since I can't find it anywhere on newage website thought I would ask here. I have to do this same install on a pro series full wall setup. Wanting to get a jump on the install I want to put up the spacer boards before my cabinets arrive. Any chance you have a measurement from the bottom of the foot to the wall mounting holes in lockers? This would help me a lot!! Thanks in advance for the help
I will be ordering the 9 piece next week. How do you find the quality and do you know the steel thickness? Does it feel flimsy or rigid?
The steel could be thicker. I'm never that hard on my stuff so it's still holding up strong 1 year later. I think if you were to drop something heavy onto a shelf or bang into the cabinets with something it could be possible to dent them. But overall I'm still extremely happy with my setup. It still looks and works great!
Great video! I got the same cabinets and just installed them today. I'm thinking I want to install both base cabinets on the edges near the tall lockers so that I can remove both rolling cabinets and put a chair in the middle to sit down. Any ideas if this can be done ?
I originally had the same idea and did exactly that! Problem I ran into is the tabletop is in 2 pieces and rely on those smaller cabinets for support. When I did it I found the center seem didn't have any support in the front and the table became kind of floppy. I'm sure you could figure out a way to do it but it would take some sort of support system below the table. I ended up switching it back to the original configuration.
@@travisadventureprojects4578 Thank you for your response. I did see this watching your other video on your cabinet where you explained. I decided to go this route as well. Now as far as how to mount the table top, did you bolt it to the brackets on the cabinets or is it just sitting on top the 2 center cabinets ?
I was wanting to bolt the table top to the mounts but both large cabinets are at different heights Even though all the cabinets are level. Any ideas ?
@@meltdownblitz I did bolt the table top to the brackets on the tall cabinets as well as screwed it to the two center cabinets as recommended in the instructions. Mine ended up leveling up nicely so it may just take a little messing around to get everything to line up nice.

Love the tip however our concrete footer sticks out 4” outward and 1’ in height so your average 2 x 4 won’t work with our application. What would you suggest when the storage system is 4” away from the garage wall? New Age was not much help in this situation.
You could find some blocking that would be the right width to cover the gap but it would sure stick out a long way. I've seen some other folks who did not install the adjustable feet on the back of the cabinets. They set the back of the cabinets right on the footing then used the adjustable feet at the front to stabilize the cabinets. That may be your best option as you could then bolt the cabinets to the wall.

We thought about wall mounting everything but the problem with that is the footer is 1 foot high so it would elevate the whole system by one foot and then the work table would sit at around chest level (my husband and I are short) which is too high. Our only option is to leave it on the floor for that reason.
@@Hemilover69 In that case your best bet would probably be to get some thincker blocking for the back. If you made sure the blocking was level, you could use it as a storage cubbies for long stuff behind the cabinets!
Man I have like a 5.5" lip, I'll have to space it out a bit. Maybe use to trim painted black to cover up gaps.

I have a question. My garage footing is sticking out 5 inches from the wall. I am getting my set next week and i am wondering what to do. Should I use spacers like you did to mount the cabinets and the lockers to the wall stud or the second option is to install the lockers on top of the footing? The footing height is about 2 ft from the ground. Thank you!
I believe they are mostly designed to have the bulk of the weight on the legs with the bolts securing them to the wall. Hard to say how well they would do only bolted to the wall. Could either do the spacers or build some sort of support/shelf for them to sit on.
Im looking to purchase the 8 piece set from costco but that set is too wide for the space I have available in my garage. So I went to the newage website directly to get a smaller set and it would cost more. Is it possible to cut the wooden work bench to 4 ft and use one less cabinet? I could Install the extra cabinet on another wall. I dont know what the board looks like or how it attaches to the cabinets so Im just concerned that by cutting the wooden board that I would be cutting off an attachment piece that would secure to the cabinet or wall. Can you please advice? Thank you.

The table comes in 2 parts, I believe each section is 4ft but I haven't measured. It is just a board that you screw into from the bottom so only mounting one shouldn't be a problem!
