This could be better worded by saying that DevOps is all about speeding up innovation through automation. DevSecOps is the shifting left of security to integrate into the core of the innovation lifecycle

Thinking that a CISO is a promotion from an engineer role is a mistake. The CISO is a strategic position, not technical or tactical. You have to understand the business to be effective as a CISO and provide effective risk management and communication and translation to the executives.
