    Most high-tech and advanced is the Mercedes Actros. And I think in terms of comfort as well - sitting behind the wheel and the electronics do everything for you - meaning you don’t get tired as fast and subsequently drive more safely. Due to the Mirror Cams you have no more blind spots, damaging tyres and trailers or even accidents, where you overlook bike drivers in the city are gone. This is much more relevant than stitched artificial leather in my opinion .

    • @anamore
      @anamore Před 2 lety

      It sounds great on paper, but in reality it's the complete opposite. Due to all those electronic systems doing most of the work you start slacking off and paying less attention to traffic. And those mirror cams are located on arms that you can't see, so when you're manouvering a tight situation it's very easy to hit something and break them.
      I also should mention that the steering is unnecessarily heavy and feels artificial, so you don't get any signals from the truck about road conditions and traction.
      And then there's the infotainment system, where you need to scroll through settings for 5 minutes to change the most basic things. Which is incredibly dangerous when you're going 80kph.
      All in all the Actros is a beautiful piece of engineering, but a piece of shit to operate.

I think from the driver seat European style tractors are more confortable to drive but US style are more comfortable to live inside. So depends what you do. I loved my 2018 Volvo 780, was brand new (435 miles) when I got it. Unfortunately, started becoming a headache when repair after repair started within a year. Had 203k miles on it when returned the truck to after job termination. Check Engine light always on for something, just going through Shreveport on I-20 would knock your sensors out of whack. Had at least 10 trips to repair shop in 2019 alone, even a couple of Volvo Dealerships I took the truck to for repairs were scratching their head about the issues. Oh word of advice, don't ever take your truck to Bruckner's in Dallas/Ft Worth because they do crappy repair jobs and keep you there until nearly closing time.

      scania is made by SAAB who also build 1 of the best fighter jets in the world. They used to make the best cars as well but they sold the car division to GM who ended up taking all the good bits off doubled the price and building crap cars then dumped SAAB who then went backrupt. But SAAB kept the bus, coach, truck and plane parts of the company.
      about 90% of the safety features on cars now was invented by either SAAB or Volvo. IE 3 point safty belts. traction control. Crumple zones, safety cages, hazard lights. Its why GM bought SAAB cars and ford bought Volvo car division just to get their hands on all the safety equipment those 2 companies invented.

      He was originally a KW K-100 (cab) or Peterbilt 362 (grill) in G1 (Seasons 1-3). G2 (starting in season 4) He looks more like a fusion of the K-100, Pete 362, and a Freightliner cabover design. My personal favorite is from the 2007 movie

    • @newmexrob99
      @newmexrob99 Před 3 lety

      The floor area inside a truck gets filthy. You are in and out of truck stops, shippers and receiver's a lot. The truck stop fuel lanes have diesel and oil on the ground and you can't help but pick it up on your shoes. Most of us make templates and cut patterns out of wholesale carpet to have on hand so that you can switch them out when they get dirty. At least those of us that want a clean truck do.

      @molnarpepi Před 4 lety +3

      Xen9889 hello mate, I can’t believe what you just said, the DAF is shockingly bad!! Extremely out dated, the steering column adjustment basic, the bed rubish, both driver and passenger seat fitted with one armrest “the inner one”, the other arm has to be rested on the door cart. That’s not a problem unless you are going trough a bumpy road, and your seat is moving up and down, your arm gets banged on the door cart. The onboard computer was great in 2000, but it is very basic, and looks crap nowadays. That’s just a few important things that I have mentioned, there is a lot more to say. Cheers 👍🏻 keep on trucking 👍🏻

    • @molnarpepi
      @molnarpepi Před 4 lety +2

      Xen9889 DAF is a cheap, reliable, fleet truck. It has the fastest service background by a million miles. The superspace is huge inside, but it is a very old design, and that is why DAF is cheaper than any others, because they don’t waste money on improving the interrior. They managed to get the fift wheel hight down to 850, which has made DAF the event companies first choice. Do you live in the UK?

    I'm not sure about the other trucks, but regarding the Actros you dont seem to have done your homework. First of all, he was introduced in Hamburg, not Berlin. Second, the mirrors are not discontinued, you get to choose yourself. The automatic braking system does not only reduce speed, it actually guarantees a full stop. And so on... These may seem like minor details but they're not. These details make the difference between the Actros and other trucks. Next time do your homework before properly please...
