Going into its fourth season, the hit animated show "Rick & Morty" has shown the insane adventures of "mad scientist" Rick Sanchez and his grandson, Morty Smith.
The pair have traveled through alternate dimensions, encountered strange civilizations, and generally left chaos in their wake.
But even as they've battle hostile aliens, they've also battled each other.
In most cases, Rick uses his grandson as everything from a human shield to a storage unit.
While Morty has often been as much a victim of his grandfather's scheming as he has been a participant, he has also tapped into his dark side and given the crazy old man a taste of his own medicine.
Rick has often acted horribly toward Morty, and Morty has learned to give as good as he gets.

Dude says that Rick was the least qualified person to ask relationship advice from but if you think about it, Rick is the only one in the show that had a seemingly healthy and perfect marriage/relationship with his wife and daughter Beth before an alternate version of himself kills them with a bomb meant for Rick.

Well after all he’s been thru he isn’t the most stable when it comes to love. The series shows us he doesn’t handle love well.
Example:
The Elbow titty Alien, UNITY, the horse chick he got pregnant, he fucked a planet, the story train with all his ex’s onboard. And clearly tells Morty to “focus on science”.

Noticed this lol, and also Morty doesn't even ignore it. In the very next episode at the beginning of season 2, Morty says "Hey, you know rick, I haven't heard you say that catchphrase you always say." to which Rick replies, "My new catchphrase is 'I love my Grandkids'" (I'm paraphrasing but you get it.

Wrong he doesn't ignore what it meant. Right after Beth and Jerry arrive home and he has 2 choices. Save ricks ass or let him fry and Morty saves rick. Then aftertime froze and they fixed everything, he says "Hey Rick. I noticed you haven't said that catch phrase in a long time."

Its sad how many people defend rick by saying he genuinely loves his family. Like, Sure, there might be some subconscious care of them, but what Rick does is nowhere near what love is.
We just feel bad for the nihilistic, and emotionally lost anti-hero. Many of us have pieces of that within ourselves, and we all judge ourselves on intention.
There's definitely love in the family but it's very toxic. I think summer and Mortys sibling relationship is the healthiest in the family.

Most of morty's "wosrt things" were revenge rather than Rick's unwarented abuse tbh

This is shown in the episode where Rick goes into Bird persons mind and talks to “himself in the past” and his past self mentions “what’s a morty” and rick says “a hypothetical grandson we may or may not have” the past Rick then goes on to say “oh god i turned into one of those Ricks who moves in with a version of his DEAD DAUGHTER” This is also shown on the episode where evil morty shows that when Ricks wife and daughter (still being a child) were killed in front of him, he went on a rampage going from universe to universe killing Ricks trying to find the one who killed his Beth and Wife. Meaning he never even had a Morty because his Beth was killed as a child.

What's kinda wierd is the first episode talks about interdimensional customs. but since the federation is after rick for his portal gun tech. but they are the owners of the custom the one managing it? in what way do the use to traverse to other dimensions? I thought rick was the sole bearer of that power and why so many diffrent versions of him exist and the whole curve where he's identified the only universes where he's the smartest and locked them all togheter.
That aside? I kinda feel the pilot episode is kinda wierd in that regard. Maybe they never planned it? maybe it's on purpose? Maybe im overthinking it.
It changed for every Rick using it. For some it teleported you in the general area, some it killed either Rick or Morty mid flight, and for others the crystal broke leaving them permanent stranded wherever they landed. The biggest thing about Rick primes gun was it didn't leave a signature afterward so you couldn't be followed.

@@ReaperOFblackghosts I dont think interdimensional means that lol. I think what they mean by "interdimensional" is that they go throughout their dimenions, not travel to other ones. Just my take on the matter tho, idrk

in the episode with the cute thing that transforms everything it bites into itself, Rick's gun is broke, but he talks about how there are ways to hop dimensions without it, but they are difficult to find. I imagine a they are after ricks gun not because they can't do interdimensional travel, but because ricks gun gives him basically a hidden/secret tunnel method he can use with impunity and bypass all their customs and laws and such with it.
Rick does FAR more damage to Morty than vice-versa.
