It's ironic. As a drill sergeant in the Air force, he was a demanding perfectionist. As an artist, he didn't believe in mistakes. Rest in power, Bob Ross. You were one of the most wholesome people that ever existed.
Drill sergeant school in the military is pretty much just acting class. A lot of the drills I've met were pretty cool people when the drill switch is off or you don't cause problems.

I absolutely love how he treats his paintings like people. He never wants them to be left out, he never wants them to be lonely, and he always want them to be happy. It is so sweet

Never grew up watching bob, never really knew about him til about a year ago and what a kind and gentle soul. I feel like everyone should watch one of these daily just for some mental well-being. Rest well bob Ross. If only you could know the people you’ve impacted just by stroking your brush and saying some kind words. :)

the beauty and kidness makes me cry in one of my worst moments in life yet. If more people were showing their kindness and good maybe the vision introverts and socially scared people have was going to be a bit different and easier for them to see the beauty of the society.
I love how he says stuff like, "I burn Kool-aid." Shows me that he's having fun and doesn't take himself too seriously. Bob Ross is one of the best humans to ever exist, along with the likes of Steve Irwin, Keanu Reeves, and Brendan Fraser. They are a representation of Healthy Masculinity.

My dad's cousin is so similar to Bob Ross. Bob was a drill sergeant and later became a soft spoken positive person. My relative worked for Lockheed Martin designing missiles, hated it, and now it's a full on outdoor & nature enthusiast who has a super calm demeanor and a really soft comforting voice. He's also almost exactly a year older than Bob Ross was. Both men are the best humanity has to offer.

My dad's brother passed away from cancer a little over a month ago, and his cousin (Larry) was there the whole time until my uncle took his last breath. It is also Larry's 80th birthday today, and a couple months ago he rafted down the Green River for over two weeks. He really is an inspiration and I'm so fortunate to have him in my life.
@@emme4602 Side note, I never knew that growing up Larry's family was extremely wealthy (his father owned an export business in San Francisco) because they were so modest. Same thing with Larry once he got older. He and his wife, whom he met while attending Stanford, designed software that helped NASA project the trajectory of satellites. They're very wealthy yet they make their own clothes, Larry built the house/cabin they live in up in the Sierras, and they're so caring and generous. Sorry for gloating so much but Larry and his family have been so integral in my life and I love having them around. When I see people like him and Bob Ross it makes me realize we could all learn something from them and always strive to live our lives with kindness, modesty, and generosity.
