Bob Ross was such a huge part of my upbringing, I was born in '96 so his show was sadly already over, but I remember that almost every night before bed my parents would put on a VHS tape of his or if I was lucky, two even, and let me watch him for a while and I'd be so amazed and soothed by his voice, personality and work that I'd go to bed feeling in perfect harmony, I'm told they found he would work like magic on me when I was a baby and wouldn't sleep, they'd only be able to lull me by either taking me out on a drive and letting the vibes of the car put me to sleep or by just turning on the TV to Bob Ross and he'd calm me down. It's actually because of him that in my teens I got into drawing and painting

I'm considering a career in painting! Bob Ross was one of the best modern artists! Too bad he was gone so soon, in 1995. But at least I can watch his episodes and paint along with him, as if he were my teacher standing right there in my living room!

With painting I'm pretty specific of what I like when I see it. I just unfortunately do not have any knowledge of what makes a great painter. For me, all of his paintings in this video are all home runs. Watching the ease of which he composes the painting makes me feel like I could do it.
