  • I'm excited about having one less thing to carry in my pack. Or no pack at all now! I use a Dakine Hot Laps Gripper to carry my extra tube, CO2, and tire levers so with the addition of this crank storage tool I no longer need to carry a pack at all anymore for rides close to home.

It seemed like the simplest of all the bike storage tools out there and has all I need for my bike. Definitely overpriced but oh well.

Any updates regarding the tool vibrating/rattling around while riding? Thanks.

How does it holde up? Did it ever fall Out?

It actually did fall out once after one crash. But haven’t had any issues since and I’ve had similar crashes since that one time. There is a metal, magnetic adapter you’re supposed to have in the crank hole to secure the tool which i wasn’t using at the time (because the Shimano cranks were already magnetic without the adapter). I should also admit that the the screw/axle that holds the chain breaker tool to the main body fell out and I had to zip tie it back together. Still functions fine and Giant did send a replacement which was awesome. I still love the tool and have used it a bunch. Not what I would expect from an $80 tool though. I chose this tool over others because it has a tire valve core remover which is a vital tool on the trail and something easily lost when carried separately.
