amazing tutorial and really well put together, I got everything on the first go and really didn't have to go back and pause or etc. as a complete beginner this truly helped.
At 6:35 When he says scale with the thing you press E after u have it at the size press and its longer press S the the shape it or R rotate it alittle!!
for anyone struggling with what he did at 2:25: you need to select one vertex with right click, then select another with shift + rightclick and then press M on your keyboard and select At First. took me a while to figure out so hope this helps someone
Hey Kingkade. I just wanted to say that this tutorial literally taught me everything I needed to know to get started with modeling. I have been using Blender for over a year now and I have made tremendous progress. This is literally the only Blender tutorial I have ever watched because it was the only one I needed, everything else I just found out as I ran into problems or a need for a certain tool. I literally recommend this tutorial to every friend I have that develops an interest in modeling. Thank you for uploading this and kickstarting my modeling career.
for 3:36 just press A in edit mode to select all and then press F to fill in the spaces. No need to do it individually. And you also dont have to link the vertices together by pressing F.
I mean you are right but if anyone is using it for stuff like Roblox studio you need To do his steps because it will not render properly if you use this trick
Thank you very much for making this so idiot proof that I won't have any issues. Honestly I wish more tutorials are done in this way, than what you see everywhere else.
This tutorial is awesome! Keep up the great work! Adult learner here learning Blender. Thank you for helping the community learn the program! I subscribed!
can you do a follow up video on how to texture this specific sword? i followed your instructions, completed my first sword, and now im trying to texture it and its just not working.
Ok i made the sword and everything but question, how do you put the cylinder were you want it, as the hilt? its just spawning right above the blade for me and i cant move it
oh nevermind i found out how to move it lol, im kinda like REALLY REALLY REALLY new at this, infact its my first time on blender and i think it turned out pretty darn good ty for the help!
keep in mind there is so many more things you will have to do to this sword if you want to export it to unity..ONLY IF YOU USE SMOOTH SHADING it messes up the backface culling and shadow transparency once exported to unity..even if you bake the uvmap the issue will remain.if you DONT use smooth shading then you will have no issues whatsoever so as long as you have done everything else right.
Shade auto smooth and mark your sharp edges the auto shade and sharp marks are normal data and will be stored in the fbx file and the game engine will utilize these this is also why you triangulate your model before you export to game engine so you know how it will look first and can make changes
@@zudethofficial9579 4 months ago but this is for others, its a good habit to select all your parts once you are done, and go into edit mode, press A, now you should have selected every single part of your model but in edit mode with every face selected nothing left out, then shift + N to recalculate normals, don't use inside. this will help with the exporting process.
You probably have extra vertices or edges hiding on top of one another. Really sneaky stuff. That was my issue at least. Just try moving your vertices around where the loop cut stops by manually clicking on them (and not box selecting). Or delete all your edges and start over like I did, which fixed it. There's probably a better way of doing it floating around the Internet though. Just leaving this out here for those who need help.
This is a great tutorial. Only down side was i head to look carefully and bump around due to the text for your imputs being white. When you don't have the image of the sword hidden the white on white is impossible to see. xD

I learnt alot from this tutorial and used the same method to make a 3D dagger. Very informative and simple to follow. Keep it up!

!!! Thanks a lot ...☺️☺️

did i miss a step? when i try to scale the middle cut it scales the whole thing
THANKS BRO YOU SO PRO 😎😎
Which blender version is this?
How do I import that model and use it in game ? I want to use my work buy idk how
hello my question is when I extrude it then there is like air in the middle sword how to fix that
I cannot get loop cut to work. It keeps going horizontal instead of vertical
when i try to scale the line in the midle to sharpen it it bugs and acts as i am moving it
Uh slight porblem. When I press S and then X on my blade, it just makes it look deformed.
i've been 5 hours to do this (but with the dragon slayer) thanks
at 2min 6 sec how those he make it so a line and when i click E it only goes straight but as for his he can bend it im lost:(
yo dude how you did the loop cut thing it's not working on my sword
Also when you make the handle how to you make it like longer and then edit the size
Im having trouble at 4:35, whenever i try to place the line it just becomes a tiny dot . Any help would be usefull ty

How do you get your vertices to sit on your reference image mine keeps moving behind and in front of the image.
You need to move the reference image back a bit. If the vertices and image overlap they'll just keep doing that.
i have an issue with doing the loop cut, it doesn't do it on the whole blade it only does it on the top of the part of the blade pls help
You probably have extra vertices or edges hiding on top of one another. Really sneaky stuff. That was my issue at least. great tutorial ! got me real sad i did so much while i oculd do it easy way
So many easier approaches to do this
What version of blender were you using
6:33 White on white didn't made it easy to read so could anyone tell me what he used to make the handle larger?
I bet his favorite word is let's go ahead
uhh, how do i color it? whenever i try to color it, it colors the whole thing
how do you move the vertice?
take a shot every time he says "go ahead"
how did you grab the vertice at 1:38
are my key binds different to yours or something half of what u said didnt work idk
when i extrude the blade to make it more thicker there are empty parts
How can you texture it?
It never shoes the reference image for me and I don't know what to do for ot to show
This is a great tutorial. Only down side was i head to look carefully and bump around due to the text for your imputs being white. When you don't have the image of the sword hidden the white on white is impossible to see. xD
How do you insert image references into blender? I don't see the option in my right click menu
press shift + a then youll see 'images' or you can just select it on add menu
