Jimmy Perez is THE most awesomely attractive character and that voice and accent absolutely makes him. I am TOTALLY addicted to the series, it's magnificent.
He is such a talented actor. I marvel at his performance in Shetland; you can see his character's emotions subtly reflected in his facial expressions... pity, love, friendship, shock, and anger...
As a lady of a certain age I probably shouldn’t say this but in my opinion Douglas Henshall has certainly improved as he’s got older-I just love him in Shetland! I just love him and Adrian Dunbar! 😂
Oh my goodness- I am a lady of a ceratin age too and I feel he got less and less attractive over the years. Very sexy as a younger man but not now....course i always went for black hair and blue eyes so I guess that's why. Just not my type - but a brilliant actor

I only found the Shetland novels recently. Love them - but couldn’t visualise Jimmy Perez at all. Until I found the series on BritBox. Ah ! found the man. Perfect casting - Henshall is Perez!! Hope Willow Reeves appears in the next series- meanwhile I am re reading the books to get me through current lockdown.
Interesting. I read the books a few years ago. Jimmy had dark hair and eyes. I was confused to see him in the TV series. It took me a few episodes to accept the change. But, DH has won me over!
Nope, he hasn't appeared in Monarch Of The Glen. To see him in Downton would literally rock my world - lol! I'm loving Shetland. Had to wait a while since the first series, but well worth it x
Here here, on the short hair, he looks really cute, his accent is like honey.At the moment ,I am writing a thriller called The Serpent with him in mind, playing the role of Louis McDonald, a plain clothes officer working for Ipswich CID with a panache for unusual cases. This one has echoes of a tragedy that happened in Oradour in the penultimate year of the war which is linked to the death of a suspected Gestapo agent who had gone to ground in East Anglia
I'll say, as for piccies, I have an electronic scrapbook of him on my computer although I have made some hard copies from the printer. I often wonder however what his tastes in music might be? I have a strange hunch although it might be wrong of coursethat he might be a Seekers fan, the original ones from Australia. I wonder if it might be my favourite, at least one of many of theirs, The Carnival is Over, especially when he has had to leave the kind of company he has enjoyed

I tell you something, he would be great in a John Buchan novel, adapted for the box, e.g Hunting Tower. What about Downton Abbey as well. He has acted before with Hugh Boneville
