I commented on the last patch video you made that the dumbest skill move they had was the bridge, but now it’s the go to along with all the “cancels” your little fingers can conjure. Your point about passing and pace are spot on. It’s really funny how EA seems to be able to consistently release the worst version of FIFA every year. Never thought anything could be worst than 19, then we got 20, and now we have 21. Compared to the non-football of 19, this game is so sloooooowwwww and boring!!!!

I have one comment - Fifa 17 was the last one where the Pro scene had a variation of styles. You had Kurt with his quick buildup passing, Gorilla with quite good skills and firld overview, Tass with defending nightmare posession style, etc. Even Tekkz entered with combo skills and high pressure D. Since then watching Pro scene is boring cause they all play same shit style with a little change to this or that.... Sad game it is.

Lmao “who can do more skill moves” clearly you don’t look at patches if EA don’t need patch skills constantly then there would be more of a variety. But they cater to awful kids so it leaves you with 5 skill moves that actually work.

Real life football is 90 mins and if you watch football regulary teams play park the bus and corners, indirect set pieces are the most effective way to score. Skill moves should be op and i agree with you there should be 20 effective moves who work at different scenarios and not spamming the same shit. Stallion thinks offensive ea will fix everything and i disagree. That would close the skill gap even more. Seiing the right pass isn't hard 90% of the time so appling the right skill moves should make the difference
When the best way to play a football game is to drop back and spam long through balls to create chances, then is there any point in playing fifa anymore ?
You CANNOT have drop back being so powerful when the AI attacking movement is no existent plus 5-10 yard through balls around the box always overhit so the keeper can get there first.
A 40 yard through ball , even when the run is covered is easier to complete due to assisted passing compared to a 7 yard through ball in the box.
You are punished for trying to play nice football and score lovely goals and you are rewarded for playing drop back and abusing mechanics.
Fifa 17 was the last fifa that had a decent skill gap. If your opponent didnt know how to defend properly then then its goodnight Vienna because the AI runs and passing was so good that you would easily create chances and rightly so, if you don’t know how to defend you should be easy to score against.
Attacking - Smart AI runs that you had to be fast, have good vision and be good enough to play quick passing to get through and using skill moves against an opponent who cant read them, not spamming them because on fifa now doing a skill creates some kind of forcefield now that you can ghost through a defender.
Defending - Covering runs and using second man press on the ball holder, either he passes to a player you’ve covered the run and you intercept OR he makes a mistake (like a bad touch) with the ball holder and you quickly switch player to the AI who is pressing and tackle.
Oh and interceptions and tackling actually worked.
If both players knew how to do this you got a tight enjoyable game.
Real football fans can play a game of fifa to a 0-0 1-1 1-0 and enjoy the game if both players are skilled.
We don’t need goal fest games to enjoy them.

Unfortunately alot of younger players dont want to spend time taking losses and improving their skills so will just give up and EA cant have the kids giving up and not buying fifa points.
So EA has made a game with easily abusable mechanics mixed in with dynamic difficulty to keep them engaged.
Ive never played fortnite and if today I decide to play it I should be getting destroyed every game until I develop my skills. Not having my hand held helping me to get kills.

Especially the passing topic. In PES it really feels like you're playing a ball into an empty space, that you have to than gather with the receiver. This way the possibilities are endless, and every single match (even against AI) plays out completely uniqe.. Hell, i remember beauty goals and even PASSES i achieved back in the PES10 days.. so yeah again.. its free on steam and other plattforms and goes by the name of "eFootball Seasion Update 21"! Oh and there is also a BIG engine update coming in 2022. Thats why they opted for a free uptated version of PES20 for this year, to go BIG next year

Is not they are helped by the game cause the game is the same for everyone. However, is gotten to a point we’re having football knowledge is actually dragging you down in stead of helping you. My passes are always over hit even if I don’t press a bar of power... I play FIFA because I enjoy football but FIFA is creating a game itself rather than representing the sport we love.

even though i did not play that many matches, i feeel you. the more you play, the more frustrated you are somehow.
@@harvirr.7110 It takes time to perfecting it. But if you do, you have a total control on them based on your own inputs on controllers. Though, I myself am not ready to do the full manual, but I tried bit by bit on semi assisted. It has helped a bit on the control over the all assisted settings. You may try semi assisted and see how it suits your play style. Manual could be really time consuming to master.
Ironically, FIFA's "realistic" movement only looks good on still images, but when you actually chain animations together, they are one of the most unnatural looking animations of any game. The way players control the ball doesn't make sense, position of the body doesn't make sense, momentum doesn't make sense

This is the type of football game I fell in love with. I don't play FIFA anymore because all that I learned from FIFA 10 to 17 is now useless. Someone just sombreros the ball past your defender and no matter how good your keeper is, fires home. I honestly believed that I had just gotten really bad at FIFA. I'm thrilled that I discovered this channel. This is phenomenal work, man!

i agree with you 100%. i quit playing fUT. i love the buildup goals from the back or beautiful breakaway goals. not that great at skill moves so i rarely use them. i watch football religiously and the ISO technique is the the most unrealistic aspect and OP method. I love it when I build a play from the back and did well to create space from the midfield to finally make a pass that breaks through the defence, just for Mendy to catch up to my player or Varane to miraculously autoblock a pass or shot after I made space in the box. Then the defence does a long through ball and I concede. I JUST LOVE IT.

Spot on once again, I can promise you I play or try to find those spaces you talk about, the runs and the fast pases. I really dont care about people playing drop down defense and counter, I still feel I can find ways to both defend that and attack it. The thing that bothers me the most is abusing of "skills". You read the way he goes, you defend as you should and he does some unrealistic spin or whatever and it goes through your player, or the bridge and my defender just stops reacting while he runs past.. and you see people just trying to go through the "wall" attack after atttack trying to go straight into my defender.. until they actually do and score a goal.. I really think the problem is that EA want this as it makes a huge profit, even a monkey can learn to spam few buttons.. but reading the game and reacting to it fast and in different ways takes years of practice and real skills

Card collecting game with gameplay that 'assists' me so much it breaks my brain.
I try to pass, move, make space, make reads, when all I actually have to do is press y and the game will make it work. Or never change guy, and the game will make it work.
I definitely agree with you on all points of passing. I think there’s an unprecedented amount of focus on a small amount of individual players to do 90% of the playmaking and goal scoring. Something I do notice is how much passing is affected by the connection to an opponent. Sometimes my passes are crisp as f and other times my passes feel like a beach ball in sand (don’t even go farther than 3 yards). Connection and player input lag is one of the most challenging things to play with because of how it makes the game unplayable. I do wish they made passing more skilled based rather than assisted, but that’s just fifa in its current state. Specifically through balls in the air LB+Y on Xbox are somehow always over hit even with players that have a high passing stat but I’ve found some interesting little fixes to this. Those that you @Italian Stallion probably are aware of is the use of LB+RB + Y through balls in the air that always somehow seem to work for me in terms of passes in the air, they go higher and are more curve based and only seem to have a problem being under hit rather than over hit. I’m sure this feature is one that has been underused in past fifas but is now emphasized here. Another is player locking, I personally don’t use it much but know it can be effective at playmaking and involving more players in the game, however the AI with the ball is usually running in a straight line and is hard to pull off. Another feature that I’ve found “INCREDIBLY USEFUL” and honestly am grateful for this feature is lobbed passes where you double click any of the passing buttons given the situation. These passes for me are less than 10 percent overhit/underhit/all of the above bad passes and is something that it might be worth looking into on your end, if you haven’t already of course. I’m by no means a pro player and do not utilize skill moves a lot but understand the goods and the bads of the game I would like to think decently well. I do wish again that they would bring back second man press in order to create a higher skill ceiling at making it more challenging for people to attack and pass in order to create a counter that is more skill based. But with the Op-ness of the defending in the game I believe it’s a futile attempt and a rather “pick your poison” from Ea’s perspective. I would just try those lofted passes because I’m really curious what kind of success it could have for you. Lastly I would say the second man press of current is more of a get more men engaging in the play and playing into space rather than straight up pressing. Which I kind of like? Anyways I’m crypts to hear yours or anyone else’s thoughts or criticisms should they come.

great video stallion, the worst thing for me is that im a fairly mediocre player trying to build up play in a logical manner with minimal skill moves but good passing because good build up play resulting in a goal feels rewarding, but its all undone by an opponent who has zero knowledge of building up and can only score a lame 50 yard thru ball counter which makes me feel stupid for even trying..

I kind of gave up on these games when they added random mistakes to the passing. Nothing worse than randomly generated fuck ups, especially when your counter attack is in full flow and you want to make something beautiful.

It's funny how some people still defend this. Would the same people tune into football every weekend to watch the defenders launch the ball forward and then have attackers try 30 skill moves in the box before shooting across goal
I agree with all of this. The fun has gone out of the game with less than a handful of patterns being the only way to play compatitive.
1v1 or spamming speed runs after through passes through the centre are 90% of the goals I concede and see others concede. Gone are passing buildups, back to the box strikers, effective crossing.
I actually enjoy varying the play and enjoy conceding a well built goal.
It's infuriating to concede the same goal over and over again without any way to stop the broken situations.
i 100% agree with you man,im cam in real life and i always try to find me teammates with creative balls behind the defance ,and i also try to do that in fifa and most of the time the creative passes just dont work because passing is broken ,i think they have to fix the passing so the people who see these kind of creative passes can play the fifa that way and be awarded for smart and creative attacks

Absolutely spot on here. I like to think I play in a similar way. I play to create chances organically and respond to what the players around me are doing. This is why pes was always a joy to play, yes there were set ways of scoring but the players moved constantly and each game felt different. Nelly did a video on this recently. Unfortunately I don’t think ea want this. They want an scared style game akin to tekken as this seems to be what sells to the masses.

I binged most of your vids and i agree with nearly everything you have said!I've been playing fifa since 2003 i think though only with friends and manager mode.I got fifa 21 and i thought fuck it i'll play FUT for the first time.Nearly everyone i play against does the same thing.Pass to the fastest best skilled player-run and dribble like a maniac.I remember old fifas were really fun.Anyways,great content!

I never have or will use the bridge or any broken mechanic, I can’t stand playing a opponents that know nothing about football, do 180 thru passes and I can’t make a one two with out my pass being sucked by the GK. Auto blocks, passes, no second man press, broken skill moves, gk movement... the list goes on. All of these bad decisions to include or not are EA sports fault. If they make a balanced game where you can beat a fifa point spender with a 50 million coin team with your 100k rtg team just by being better they will have a big problem. In my opinion they won’t make a better game with no cheese, fair and fun because it will affect their pockets. At the end of the day it’s all about money. I thought I was only one of few players left that looks for creative balls, quick switches, passes that you don’t think your opposition is gonna notice but instead every game is just the game thing spamming down the wings and then passes and rebounds in the box, it feels such more rewarding this year to score a goal from a really nice bit of play because their so rare.

This happened once before, fifa 2002 world cup, was all about stars and iso plays. As a pc gamer, had shifted to international superstar soccer, had to wait till fifa 2004, where they made the game slightly enjoyable, then fifa 2005, was just awesome, fifa 06 was ok, and 07 hit it out of the park, and then for a few years, even my console gamer friends, played fifa, instead of pes
Watching you score from quick, first time passing with good movement off the ball is so refreshing and is much better to watch compared to watching a pro dibble with the ball using skill moves at the edge of box for 90 minutes as the other players defender desperately trys to jockey with the rest of their players standing still, not pressing and letting it happen.
Watching strikers walk through three defenders just standing there is triggering some PTSD...

I tend to work a decent build up play over the years as my style but the last couple installments have nerfed passing in the game making it very risky if you're trying for the long game. 21 will definitely be my last time contributing to the millions or even billions EA has been making over the years in FIFA

Long story short, I told him that His style of playing bores me.. that the game becomes boring when you have to defend the same play over and over and over again, and to make it worse, it seems like 95% of the fifa gamers play with that same style.

Right on the spot. Prior to fifa 16, you could literally think 3 steps ahead of your play because the passes were accurate. After 15, the input of the AI deciding what works became insane. Majority of my games have at least 20 situations where the AI decides what happens as opposed to what I want to happen (passes going wherever, ball bounces off player for whatever reason etc.). There is no coincidence between the correlation in the reduction in skill gap and the increase of EAs yearly earnings since fifa 16.
Great Vid again! Im playing Seasons only but I'm quitting the game. 9 out of 10 vs France or PSG, 1 depth counterattack, Mbappe and/or Neymar. I'm playing Liverpool with attacking minded football, upcoming backs and possession based playing style. 6-7 depth, pressure after losing ball. 433 attack. Because I'm Ajax fan, I'm Cruyff minded. It's how I want to be creative. Challenging myself with a variety of attacking patterns. Trying to read the game, defending forward. 4 Times champ in DIV1.
But it's too hard and it becomes a drag. Because every ball you lose is dangerous counter. Passing is too bad. You have to depend on the AI to make the right runs. You can't constantly make the runs manually. That costs too much time and defenders are in position again. Make AI smarter, attacking wise. Make it more about insight and less about mindless skills practice. Give all playing styles a chance. Not just have 1 meta. It's no representation of real football. Where you have many different playing styles and all can win.
PSG didn't win Champions league because Bayern Munchen was a better team with more variety of attacking and defensive plays. In Fifa Bayern Munchen would lose, because PSG have Mbappe and Neymar and teamplay is much less important. At least IMO.
I hadn't played FIFA since 15 as I no longer had a console, but when I got a PS5 and played FIFA 21, the decline is unreal, I find myself trying to play football with positive runs and intricate passing, but the passing is so terrible in this game that it's unreal, the AI blocks are awful too. I tend to be fine defensively most of the time, but when I attack I can instantly be undone with one through ball despite having it covered. I tackle and the ball will either somehow end up where the opponent needs it or when I tackle the ball will go straight to another one of their players. It happens so much its frustrating, FIFA didn't used to be like this.
I'm sure most players are so sick of how this game works. Tbh, I've got to gold 2 every WL, which is quite average I know, but my team is the exact same thing since December or so.
Why? 0 pack luck, many weeks not even a walkout + there are not many meta players under 500k, and if you dare to try out 91 Suarez moments as your striker, with the heavy gameplay and through ball meta, you end up punching holes on the wall.
I find it depressing how many of us still try to have fun with the game, thinking of ways to play it beautifully, try different players and formations, to only realise WL after WL that mbappe is gonna score you 3 counter attacks with a through ball from the midfielder.

The way you play the game is absolutely beautiful and it is what I always envision when I imagine great fun Fifa gameplay. Every day I wake up with that image in my head and I open the game just to get absolutely demoralized by pure BS mechanics and unsalvagable AI. Thanks for preaching the truth.

I cannot agree more with this gr8 video. My passion with Fifa started when every game was different from all the others as every action was with few skill moves but more with a vision of what to do with the ball at large scale. Now it's more a rugby man hunt simulation where the trick is how to give away the ball as fast as you can or doing a trick to get the half yard advantage and score. Fifa in my opinion needs a complete reengineering of the logic in order to have less circus and more football
Stallion is speaking straight facts here. I’ve actually stopped playing fifa 21 because the game punishes you for wanting to play actual football. I don’t want to spam bridge/stepovers/la croqueta etc. I want to react to the movement of my players/my opponents players using passes and footballing intelligence to break them down. That’s by far the most satisfying way to play football. I have no problem losing to someone who has beaten me using their intelligence of football/passing. I can’t abide losing to someone spamming bridges while my defenders all stand there watching him jog past them. I hope EA sees this video, and makes much needed changes in future.
I got into FIFA and really soccer because we would have freshman dorm tournaments back in 2011. This is the first game I've purchased in a few years and its sad because I play as Chelsea in online seasons and literally get matched up against the same 4-5 teams every time with them spamming skill moves from Mbappe or Mane or Messi. The game was way more fun when you would actually make intricate passing plays.

The game makes no sense , the passing is horrendous, defending is useless. What in the world happened to logical passing ? Creative passes and build up that actually makes sense , and I haven't even brought up the bullshit skill moves and the HORRIBLE Goalkeepers that can't save the simplest of shots, a real disgrace to fifa tbh.
I quit on the game since the second patch and everytime I try to comeback to the game , I'm reminded by how shit and nonsensical it is.

Played 21 but went back to 19. Scored a beaut on World Class with Valencia from 30+ meters it was cathartic. FIFA 21 could never make me get that feeling. Its just turnaround, bridge, step on... . Might even go back to FIFA 14.
