I have to be honest, I really don't know how Belgium or Latvia didn't win that year. The top three were all very well performed, but were all so damn cheesy at the same time. Belgium and Latvia brought both vocal prowess and originality - with love from Ireland!

I have to agree. The songs from Sweden, Russia and Italy, although popular and performed as well as they were, didn't really do much for me. Belgium and Latvia (and Norway) were extraordinary in all areas and worthy of winning in my opinion. I also loved the Irish entry which should've been in the final without doubt.

@@TheyCallMePhilip Well, you and I definitely have similar tastes in Eurovision, as I really loved the Norwegian duo that year too. They looked so cool up on stage together - indeed, though our Irish national broadcaster has divested entirely from the competition for the past twenty years, making no effort whatsoever, resulting in a collective cringe from the nation with regard to most acts we send these days, I agree that Molly Sterling's entry in 2015 was actually a really lovely one and well worthy of the final, as you say. Oh well, what's another year?
