Love tracking in the snow. Been quite a few years since I got to do it. Snow starts a bit late here sometimes. Also we don't have moose here so that was pretty awesome. Anyway getting close to our season openers here. Tomorrow for some areas and 2 weeks for others. Good luck this season and can't wait for more of these.

@@swostillwateroutdoors not too often, generally a little more north of us. But we have caught two bulls as well as a cow and calf on trail cameras before. Surprisingly, while out and about scouting for bear this season, Justin came across a ton of moose sign in one of our deer hunting areas.

Love tracking in snow unfortunately havent got much for snow during the last few seasons. Our season runs the month of November for rifle and 1st and 2nd week of dec for muzzleloader and lucky to have snow by mid December her in maine the last few years
It has been terrible tracking conditions in recent years :( last year I only had one good killing day the entire season…it was brutal!

What is your strategy for finding tracks? Are you just driving typical county roads or minimum maintenance/logging roads? Is hunting pressure ever a factor up there?
Also would love to see a video on your gear/clothing selection for snow tracking.

Yes I like to drive the roads because there are plenty of roads to go on in my area! I can cover a lot more ground to find a good track but not all big bucks cross roads so it is also limiting! I usually stay on the gravel roads, the logging roads usually dead end and then you can get yourself in a pickle!
Hunting pressure def is a factor, but usually not too big of a deal!

Alternator was charger 14 volts
I am not a car guy, but replaced the battery and alternator and my gauge was still bouncing up high in the 16 so the shop told me it could be something wrong with the gauge!
What red dot sight are you using?
This is a cvlife, low cost red dot from Amazon! Did the job for me, killed two bucks with it last year!
