The day to day running of Scotland is devolved and Scotland has control of its own taxes and budget.

It controls some taxes in a limited way but does not control its budget. It is possible for the SG to raise a bit extra but generally 98% of the budget is allocated by Westminster with the block grant which typically approximates to about 55% of Scotland's known tax revenue.

      @@SI-vb7hd ,
The Scottish budget is 50/50 between the UK (block grant) and Scotland (devolved taxes)
The Scottish Government decide fully where money in the Scottish Budget is allocated. (They pass legislation in the Scottish Parliament) to enact their budget.
The U.K. only decides funding allocations for the UK budget.

Well it is cos ye dinna hand them all yer money and get some back ... The EU is a trading club and ye pay te be in it . You obviously dinna hae much o a clue aboot the customs union or ye'd nae be anti EU . The major ball ache o haein te dae invoices wi athin that goes te the EU noo is a nightmare and costing the country a shit load o money. Also stuff gan te the States is now monitored even mair closely by UK customs which again is a nuisance . Eventually we'll find oot Brexit wis a disaster but by then Scotland will be away and heading either inte EFTA or back into the EU .

The EU does not take all of your money then give about 55% back and say that is all you are allowed.
