pretty cool!!! now get ready to lose your hair lol embroidery can be a pain in the rear but you'll learn to enjoy it lol
He should watch your good how to videos like I do
Cant be worse than screen printing. Can it?
@@ThePrintLife lol yes it can be lol but all in all it's a lot fun, do you remember them two hats i sent you three years ago with your logo un the bottom of the brim? when you do things like that is a lot of fun to implement both embroidery and screen printing. good luck you'll like embroidery
@@LibertyGraphicDesigns yup I still got them lids.
If he hasn’t lost his hair yet i think its in for good
I remember when I purchased my first embroidery machine...a big learning curve...I ended up learning some digitizing too for small short runs. I went with Tajima and now will go with nothing else. Ten years on that machine with NO breakdowns but good proper maintenance. It started out being about 10% embroidery 90% screen printing. Now it is about 40/60. Good luck!
Yea Tajima seems to make a great machine as well. I have heard once you go embroidery you tend to move away from printing more and more.
DUDE. Your videos are the best thing that’s happened to me and my brand for silk screen. Man... thank you for not holding this info to yourself. I am truly grateful.
No problem at all Rachel. Keep me posted on your progress in the screen print business.
@@ThePrintLife I am video documenting it so once I finish and upload I’ll let you know 🤩🤙🏻you totally have inspired me and have been my main source of guidance.
Good choice on the Melco. For people who care about quality and craft, there really is no other choice. Barudan and Tajima is for high production contract shops that do not care about quality of their product. For hats, there really is nothing that compares as far as quality is concerned.
I hope that turns out to be true. So far it seems like a beast.
FINALLY, someone who did not buy a Ricoma! I'm looking to buy the same embroidery machine. Learning from scratch just like you. Keep us updated on the process with the Melco. I definitely appreciate it!
For real jaja
You got it. This emb game is super exciting. The best part. I dont have to reclaim any screens.
@JBM Design Co. dont like the Ricoma?.... im lookin into gettign a machine. why do you not like them
@@trunkz007 I really dont know enough about them to say I dont like then. However, I feel that there is something to the company that we are not seeing. I pay attention to their heavy marketing and the fact that other companies want nothing to do with their machines.
I also tune in to their lives with Henry, and when I ask certain questions about their machine...I watch him skip over specific questions. Like I said, I really dont know enough about them company or machine to say I dont like them, but there has been enough red flags for me to NOT invest my money. That being said, I may not go with Melco either, lol....and I have nothing bad to say about Melco.
you can also use a hot knife to cut the patch or use tear away backing
A hot knife? I will look into that.
@@ThePrintLife you know them soldering irons for electronics? they have a knife like tool that I use to cut the patch
@@ThePrintLife hey man sick reading all this comments .. to be honest I getting answer to many question that spin in my head... Thanks man. . Nice people Around this Channel...
I still remember one of my customers saying don’t be mad I bought an embroidery machine.
Me- no problem unless you bought a melco lol!!
Hey I just saw Jessie!! I haven't seen him in one of your videos for ages.
He will be back soon. In a bigger way than before.
You can also get needles that will cut them out for you,, use the right badge fabric and keep it in tension in the hoop, and learn to digitise properly, call if you need a hand
Right on thanks for the offer. I may just take you up on that.
just so glad you're back Cam .
Embroidery looks cool and it is coming up in my future print life.
Nice video
Stahls adhesive twill works awesome for patches, also Coleman and company has some great videos and products dedicated just for patch makers! Love the machine, I’m working on getting one also!
Great tip! Sweet that is exactly what im looking for. So twill is the fabric im looking for?
@@ThePrintLife yes, my favorite. I do see some people use felt and canvas. Twill doesn’t distort and is much more forgiving when your density is off. You should use the appliqué setting, then you can trim off the fabric before the final satin stitching, gives a nice finish.
I would take a serious look at Mighty hoops. We have them and love them!!
Thank you for the suggestion. Im looking into them now.
You get this man. Great attitude while learning. It's also good to show new comers the ups and lows of the decorating business.
Totaly, My main goal with the channel was to show more of the things that go wrong, ya know keepin it real.
I have two amayas...love em
Are there any major issues you have ran into with those models?
@@ThePrintLife no major issues.. just keep up with the normal maint, oiling and such. It's a big learning curve but you'll have no real problems. Bobbin tension is critical on these..
Woo hoo! Fellow Melco user as well. Looking forward to these future videos
Great! Makes me remember when I bought my first stitching machine. It took me quite a while to learn. In the end for me, having somebody inhouse who can digitise very good, was essential. Keep an eye on the proper thread tension. Greetings from Germany
I have a melco!!!! I love it!!
I love my EMT16x. I suggest getting Magic Hoops and the Hooptech Gen2 cap frame!! Makes productivity & consistency so much better.
Awesome man........Nice Machine ..🤙🤙🤙🐶🐶🐶🐶🤓🤓🤓🤓🤓🤓🍻🍻🥃
Looks great Cam! Glad to see you are doing so well with the machine.
Should have got a barudan instead but at least you didn’t get a Ricoma. Melco is still a good choice.
I do like the Barudans for sure. I like the melco cause you can chain multiple machines together and instead of having say four heads run of one motor each machine is running independent, so if a thread breaks or something like that the other 3 machines can keep on trucking. of course I was concerned that 4 single heads would cost way more than a 4 head. but melco prices the purchase of 4 machines the same as if I was buying a 4 head from another manufacturer. I dont know yet if this is the right decision but I feel good about working with them so far. Ill keep you posted with more vids as I put this through its paces.
Disagree. Melco is the better choice, especially for a small shop just starting out that truly cares about quality.
Beard Booze Melco is a great option but Barudan is one of the best. Even if you have a small shop because once you upgrade to a 6 head the transition is very easy. I’m have a 6 head barudan with another incoming.
Ha! Dope. Just started lookin up embroidery machines. Look forward to your video and the cussing and the mishaps and overall joy of getting a new piece of equipment. Congrats bro
I little less cursing and a little more stitching.
Oh snap! I just
got this same
machine in the shop today! And you upload a video! Awesome stuff!
Nice man. Hows the process going for you? Sooo much to learn. But its hella exciting.
Glad you are happy with your Melco machines
@@ThePrintLife oh man is a whole new world! So many variables and settings to learn. Definitely really exciting , and the possibilities of using both worlds 😎
Great choice of machines. I have had a Melco for a few years. Get some tackle twill for your patches.
Glad you are happy with your Melco machines
you want to use TWILL from TWILL USA for your patches.
Dude, everything you think is relevant to your creative processes, just do it!
Good channel, I learn lots.
I appreciate that! these vids are fun to make for sure.
Mike at Keep on Creating produces amazing work. John Deer Embroidery channel has some really great digitising content but was recently doing videos on patches- they sell a merrow-like pattern file as well.
Sweet! Great video Cam. Can’t wait to see your creations.
U got this bro love the content
Thanks for the vote of confidence, I do got this, I hope.
YeeeEeeE.. I wanted a Melco so bad ! Congrats brotha !!
its sick dude. I got lots to learn, but I ain't been this excited about this business in a minute.
Good move !
nice addition ... congrats..!
Just curious why you chose melco over other brands. Would love to know what sold you on this machine over others.
The main reason whas the ability to chain machines together. If you need a 4 head machine you can hit up melco and they will price it out to match what a typical 4 head machine would run, and now if you have 4 machines going and one has a bobbin run out. the other 3 machines will keep running. That's my main logic. Time will tell if this is proper logic.
@@ThePrintLife thanks, gives me some insight and guidance for myself. Appreciate the content, I have learned alot from you.
Melco is the best, especially as far as quality is concerned.
I miss the good old days when people would say "high five!" before giving a high five
Me too need to bring that back. High fives all around.
Congrats Cam!
Awesome Cam
For what it’s worth, I have an emc6 from like the 90s that’s still banging out patches on the daily.
I ran into allot of that. lots of long time happy customer. A few angry ones as well, but it seems like a good gamble to me. What manufacturer is your favorite?
@@ThePrintLife Tajima, but that’s what I first started with and I’m a sucker for that green paint. I think it’s hard to go wrong these days unless you’re running production full time on a machine.
Bro! Hit me up when your solid and taking orders. My shop just upgraded too, digital printing tho. Stay active! Cheers
Will do.
Hi first of all I love your videos! I was wondering what kind of printer you use for your films, I thought it was an Epson that can also print rolls. Please tell me which one Thanks and have a good one
woah..you remind me of my friend from Montreal who’s name is also Cam 😘
excelent
great content!
Thank you Stefan
what program is used for the logo??
That's awesome man.. I'm saving up for a melco embroidery machine so I can do patches as well. I have a resource for you... an Etsy shop youtuber who have 2 melco embroidery machines, along with a bunch of brother embroidery machines... maybe you can grab some tips from her channel... Let me look her up... i will post a link to her youtube channel below so you can check her out.
OH yea I watched a lot of her stuff. I love what she is doing. and she made the machine look like a winner to me.
Nice bro
ive been considering a small embroidery machine for my brand. thanks!
Hit them up they have some cool deals going on for new embroiders.
Nope nope nope...learn the digitising software at the same time. It’s where the magic happens. Knowing how to get the best outta the machine with the software makes a huuuuge difference. Machines are pretty dumb, it’s your creative use of the software that makes the difference.
3 nopes! Copy that. Gotta love the melco emb youtube tutorials.
Ehh, depends on your goals. If you find a great digitizers you’ll make a lot more money subbing it out.
so frigin sick!!
I can't believe I waited so long to get into it.
Embroidery is indeed cool. That machine doesnt look for beginner though..
It's not beginner-priced, but it is really user-friendly.
Nice
Thanks
Why melco?
Where can one purchase one of your Print Life tees?
Nowhere yet. but soon.
Twinkies. Almost a hoarder. Yeah......I like you. 😂
Heyo! How much labor do you put to each garment for embroidery?
I dont think its the labor so much as the time. I dont think one machine will be fast enough to fulfill any real orders. I atleast need one more, but ideally I would have 4.
🤘
You could of gone for proper one, tajima or bauradan, at least its not a ricoma lol
The reason I like the Melco is because you can chain the individual machines together. If you are running 4 heads, and 1 thread breaks the other three machines will keep on plugging away. I can't yet speak to the build quality. But I did find lots of users that have been running these machines for years, so I was confident. I hope I made a good decision with Melco, only time will tell.
@@ThePrintLife only seen them at shows and as you say build quailty not the same other brands, but depends on how much you are going to use it for, ours run 8 hrs a day none stop its a realy big learning curve to get it right if you need a hand feel free to ask all the best
We rock three melcos, one of them old as dirt. I’d put the quality up against any Barudan or Tajima and blow the doors off. When we used to sub our work out to Barudan and Tajima shops the work was also sub par compared to our melcos.
@@woogdesigns thats nice for you, 3 is quite a lot of machine to prove your point
Embroidery is painful, no doubt about it
Cam, get a printer!!!
I'm trying to get one but 4k damn lol
I have the EMT16x, Its a bit more than 4k. Call all the manufactures and play them against each other on price you can shave 2 grand off the price by doing that.
Do a video on that !💎
